How ignorant are you to not even look up the definition of the Secretary of the Navy. Takes about 3 seconds. Nevertheless, I did it for you.
The United States Secretary of the Navy is the civilian head of the Department of the Navy. The position was a member of the President's Cabinet until 1947, when it was placed under the Secretary of Defense.
It's essentially the head of the Navy. You're pretty darn lazy to not look that up before making your comments.
You make some good points but I will respectfully disagree.
I agree with your characterization of him as independent minded and unorthodox but I don't think that should be a hindrance to the VP slot. Obama's was, after all, the most untraditional/idiosyncratic presidential campaign in history.
VP picks to deliver states or "balance out" the ticket are pretty ineffective. I think a VP pick that represents steadfastness to principles is the way to go.
I don't think Webb wants the job of VP, but I do think Webb would serve if asked. His family has a long history of rising to the challenge and serving. I think he would do it for his country even thought he personally would stay in the Senate. That's part of why I like him! SecNav is the civilian head of the half a million person Navy/MC. Huge oversight experience. He had done great work for the VA/Reserve. I think he would really be an asset.
I think Webb would make a great VP..he was against the Iraq war from the start and he is was a marine which cancels out Mccain and he is a senator in a swing state which is Virginia which has a pretty high population..so you dont know what ur talking about buddy.

I also understand you made this a year and a half ago. Has your opinion wavered since then?

You don't have to say "you don't know what you're talking about" if you disagree. That's pretty immature if you ask me.
I think Webb would make a great VP, but to say he doesn't know anything about Jim Webb is obviously false.
