  • "Don't just do something, stand there."

Only the very intelligent see when it applies, along with, Speude Bradeos, which was Augustus' favorite saying it is said, and which he likely said mostly in Greek.

  • Res gestae = et acta et dicta.

  • NOSTRUM TERRA NOSTRUM CRUOR ES UNUS

  • Well, salinagree169, if you insist: taking "Acta non verba" categorically is a doublebind--for you.

If you are serious, the least you could do is follow your own rule and shut up.

Perhaps join a Trappist Monastery and talk with your hands?

If it applies only to a particular moment, it amounts to a definition of time, and of a dictum at a particular moment applied to other moments.

    Either way you are fucked.

  • The mythos of the "strong silent type" and the "man of action" is particularly egregious in the US, which is the land of mindless activity.

In fact most of this type are weak-minded idiots who keeping "acting" themselves deeper and deeper into the nearest quagmire.

  • pajamasmedia's fearless ace journalist "Joe the Plumber" recently returned safely from his dangerous assignment in Israel where he reported on the heroics of the IDF in the front lines of Gaza.

In a recent exclusive interview that we are making available to you on youtube, Wurzelbacher - worldly man of the American people - discusses the increasingly traitorous domestic scene in the Homeland:

  • "Back in the day, really, when people would talk about our military in a poor way, somebody would shoot em. And thered be nothing said about that, because they knew it was wrong. You dont talk about our troops. You support our troops. Especially when our congressmen and senators sit there and say bad things in an ongoing conflict."

  • Laing on Bateson's doublebind.

It's rhetoric and is an attempt at mind fuck but it does not work if you know what it is.

"Support the troops, even if you don't support the war" is a doublebind.

For one reason or another I was attending a Lutheran Church which for years had a pseudo-hippie pastor peacenik, with a pro-war congregation--every Sunday--"Support the troops".

Abu Gharaib breaks he says "Support the troops!".

The assholes at Abu Gharaib weren't "the troops" too?

  • So the Cavalry troopers surround the lone Injun, forming a circle, carbines at ready.

Just as the Lt. yells "Fire", the Injun hits the deck.

The troopers shoot one another down.

The Injun gets back on his feet.

    Brushes his buckskins off.

Looks at the dead and dying troopers.

Whatever deviates from the five opinions and stands apart will always have the whole herd against him."

Oh thank you so much for freeing us, Massuh Paul, WE thought YOU owned us, hahahahaha.

Paul wants a gold standard, eh--yeah, and how much in campaign contributions did he get from Stanford Allen?

    Paul is walking talking bullshit.

  • Hey mopsius, speaking of Sir Stanford, have you had a look at any of these allegations yet?

" NEWS THIS past week that the FBI was investigating the possibility that Antigua-based Texan billionaire Allen Stanford might have been laundering drug money for the notorious Mexican Gulf Cartel must have raised even more eyebrows locally than allegations of his fraud on a "massive" scale."

    tinyurl(dot)com/c6jlzg

  • gee, if the drug laundering allegations are true, could that have anything to do with the projected confidence in the CDs returns? If so, its sorta like buying shares in a drug cartel.

"According to the SEC complaint, Stanford Investment Group hasn't failed to hit its targeted investment return of 10% since 1994. The returns on the so-called CDs ranged from 16.5% in 1993 to 11.5% in 2005."

    Fucking hypocrite.

  • Paul sold out the antiwar vote--suspends his campaign when he is beginning to win votes, knocks out Giuliani, and guarantees McCain's nomination.

Opposes Kucinich's impeachment move the first time and jiveasses about procedure the second time.

Takes his $35 million in campaign funds and runs.

How much of that was from Neo-Cons?

    They also financed Nader.

    Those are facts.

  • You act as though Bush ran anything, or Obama runs anything. They are just puppets of the private bankers that run the Federal Reserve who line the pockets of all the major politicians and really dictate policy. The warfare state, the social welfare state, corporate welfare and the further centralization of power benefit the international banking cartel. Impeaching Bush would have been a waste of taxpayers money. Until you abolish the Federal Reserve, no change will come to the power structure.

  • Ha, stimulus package yeah I have herd of it. Haven't seen any of that money though. That's the best Obama can do for now? Yup guess I was right. Obama was only put in office because dumbasses wanted to be part of history for the wrong reasons. To see one man take office because his skin is dark. Instead of electing someone who know how to fix this country Ron Paul. Take the power from the corporations and get out of Iraq would be my first steps into rebuilding the economy.

  • Ron Paul is a jiveass Born Again hypocrite, who was bought off, and sold out the antiwar movement, among other things.

He was also dynamically tepid about impeaching the criminals Bush and Cheney, after being very enthusiastic about impeaching Clinton.

    Shove it up your ass.

Tepid? Are you serious? More like Obama, Bush, McCain they were all promoted out the ass. Ron simply ran out of steam. Fighting when no one would listen. Slamming McCain in debates. And all McCain could do is sit there most of the time without anything but a smirk of like yup you're right so what? The only people who were bought out was Obama and McCain. They made it clear they wouldn't stand in the way of billion dollar corporations. So shove it up your ass you misinformed idiot!

  • The only reason the financial incompetents are even thinking of giving relief to mortgage-holders is to lock them into a losing proposition for thirty years.

One could give hundreds of examples.

Creating jobs--what jobs? Rebuilding obsolete infrastructure?

    More security at airports?

A draft for world war, hahaha.

Giving "money" away on the lowest level is preferable to lending it (credit is the problem) or creating useless jobs.

  • If they had the "money", of course. Most of the paper has already been exchanged for other currencies and assets by the financial elite, leaving you folks with a government printing press and no resources, hahahaha.

It is a vicious circle that these morons constructed.

First nationlize oil, then there is a small chance of a solution to the currency collapse.

The Russians, on the other hand, think war or default is inevitable and they may be right.

  • The bus of state is being driven by lunatics--Disney fantasists and financiers, with no connection to reality, and incompetent financially and economically besides.

    It is quite amusing.

  • The more advanced of the Russian analysts are laughing their balls off.

    Rightly.

  • The US economy is not the largest economy in the world (as Stark surely thinks).

It is the largest economy in the world in USD.

In the gap is total collapse, chaos, and, depending on you US dumbasses, possibly World War.

Either way its curtains for the US as it stands.

    Bon appetit.

  • Charles W. Freeman is a sign (semeion)

On the surface it might look like progress.

In fact, his appointment is a dead giveaway at the new direction of US incompetence.

    What a gas!

  • Paul's idiot "economics", based on John Locke's, "You own yourself" is another moronic Protestant doublebind, resulting in infinite recursion.

    "You" "Own"--WHAT?

The US is a collection of dumbasses and lunatics mostly, and mostly adolescent intellectually.

Most minds are destroyed before three years old.

  • "You must do X or Y, but you must do X or Y of your own free will, spontaneously, without being ordered or told to."

    HAHAHAHAHA.

    Have a nice day, HAHAHAHAHAHA.

  • The spendulus package and the mortgage bailout bill does not benefit the American Taxpayer and will only delay foreclosures and allow the Federal Reserve and Chinese Government to collect a profit, the bubble created by reckless monetary policy will collapse. Regardless, we are only prolonging the pain and making it worse. Prices of houses need to go down so people who can afford the houses can buy them. We don't need people to borrow and spend, we need people to save and pay off their debts.

  • Don't sweat this borrowing money crap, people.

Fact is, the larger the national debt...the wealthier we are !

No need to take my word for it, just listen to California representative (D) Pete Stark by cutting and pasting to YT search...

Relax and enjoy the additional wealth a comin'

    Peace

  • I hope we all realize where this money is coming from. It is coming out of the pockets of you and me. Our Government borrows money from the private Federal Reserve which prints the notes and the Federal Reserve collects an interest payment from our government paid for by our taxes .We also borrow from the Chinese Government. So basically Private Bankers and the Chicoms are the only ones who profit from this deficit spending and borrowing.

  • It's much worse than that.

  • Oil has to be nationalized and disattached from the collapsing USD.

Without doing that there is no solution.

But that is just breathing space, solving nothing on its own.

Stark is another moron--an economic imbecile.

The elite has constructed a number of economic vicious circles that they are, for the most not, not aware of.

    It's hilarious from a distance.

    Bon appetit.

  • Jonathan is a dickhead

  • After some study I have concluded that all religion is a form of delirium that by its very nature seeks to own its followers and tends to be successful to such an extent that when you ask a member of a religion what their religion is they reply as if it were them and not the other way around, and they do not even notice this most simple of truths.

  • But you were raised Protestant, and that, abstracted, remains.

Else you would not instinctively revert to doublebinds.

The mode, my dear fellow, not the reference.

  • The Hegelian version is designed for you to rebel, fail, and come running back to Mommy and Daddy, at whatever age.

Also don't confuse "religion" with the Judaio-Christian insanity.

    Santayana.

Are you too lazy to look up "doublebind" on line?

That's Protestant too--"must be an error for doubleblind" because that is what "I" know.

"I" don't need to look, "I" am perfect the way "I" am, at every moment, lacking nothing.

    Sound familiar?

  • Yes, but not for me. I was asking you about a spelling error and you went off the wall. I have no need to listen to such a reactionary. Even so, I will watch what it is you are saying, if only to find out whether or not its just longwinded prattle about how your books are better than mine, not a pun off the bible btw.

I don't intend to ever enlist myself into the service of any religion. You act as if you are stating something that I already have not observed, which though incorrect is understa

  • "Reactionary"?

My poor dear fellow, you are still very, very double-blinded.

  • No "spelling error" except in your mind, metashifter.

There are two distinct words--doublebind and doubleblind, one of which you never heard of before.

I even put it in German.

You need work--read Santayana's various works on American religion--it will clear your head if it is clearable.

Protentantism destroys memory and makes it very selective in an ever faultless present tense, and you are always the victim right?

  • When the idea of satan came into the picture it all sort of clicked, and I reallized exactly how ridiculous the religion was. I tried to reject it, but I had never known that any other religion existed, and stuck in a religious gulag, I had no other choice. At least I can say I am on the recovery path, lol, a ridiculous statement but nonetheless not something many could claim.

  • I think you are probably misspelling that. Is it doubleblind or doublebind?

Now I am even more uncertain as to why you post.

Yes I was raised protestant, not that I wanted to be. I didn't mind until they came up with the ridiculous idea of satan. It was about then that I reallized that the religion was ridiculous as a whole, the "God is love and you should be compassionate to your fellows if they are compassionate towards you," that made sense. endofcomment, continuing, dont interrupt plz.

  • Anyway, the US is two blunders away from Weimar, and from their past record, it is not a bad bet that the incompetent elite will make both of them quite soon.

    Bon Appetit!

  • i enjoy reading your comments mopsius, you seem like a very insightful person and have something interesting to say on a number of different subjects

  • The Dopplelbindung is not a logical paradox or an antilogy.

    It is purely rhetorical.

Its users tend to be illogical smart asses, espcially authoritarian Protestants.

"You must do this, but you must do it of your own free will", HAHAHAHAHA.

Hegel already had the Lutheran version down pat.

  • Doppelbindung.

  • Yes, Fleetwood--R.. D. Laing--read him closely on Bateson's doublebind.

Did you realize "Have a nice day" has the form of a doublebind?

But it has political implications as well.

  • Why do you post so much, are you trying to compensate for the inflated lack of opinions amongst Americans? If you are then you can only fail.

  • A master of the doublebind I see--you must have been raised Protestant.

  • "Metashifter" demonstrates a misunderstanding of "meta".

You are involved in a very Faustian infinite recursion, my poor dear.

    Bon appetit.

  • You want to know how fucked up you are as an American Protestant--read George Santayana closely.

That will take you a few years.

He is also good on how American Roman CAtholics and Jews are fucked up int their own peculiar ways.

But most Americans have fucked up Protestant cryptotypes.

  • Russia and Cuba have higher literacy rates than the US. Another good example.

But it is worse than the figures suggest--the US figures are fixed--actually illiteracy is much higher than the official figures, which does not count functional illiteracy.

  • I think I understand why the comments pages have confused me so much....they're backwards as to what they are on the video...Why does that make sense?

  • Given free rein, the US will once again get the worst of both worlds--compulsory health insurance contracted out to private insurers.

By the way, the profits in Health Inusrance are vast, but concealed by the book-keeping and accounting.

It is very complex and you cannot describe easily in a few words.

Kucinich has the right idea--have the Federal Goivernment define the risk pool as every citizen and resident.

The premiums will be very small.

  • Personally, I would make Health Insurance an independent Federal Agenyc to keep it out of the hands of the politicians.

So it doesn't turn into another Social Security scam.

  • Theres always the possibility that it could become another EPA, and go through the same degeneration.

  • Germany pioneered all this beginning with Bismarck.

    The ideological names are unimportant.

Ludwig Erhard called his postwar system "intervention capitalism".

In the US the Rightwing would calls it Socialism or Communism.

Germans have among the best medical care in the world, and it is "free" in the above sense.

    Very cheap for individuals.

Cuba is doing better in Health Care than the US--much much better.

  • Obviously the doctors and the private insurers don't want a rational system.

What they know want is a government required health insurance that they contract--a captive audience.

Hey Paul is a phsyicain--no conflict of interest there, oh no.

Fucking lying, waffling, weaseling Born Again hypocrite.

  • As it stands, Obama's Health Care proposal will be a complete fucking disaster as long any private insurers are involved.

    Period.

There is no way. It will be an added burden.

Kucinich has the only valid concept--a shared risk pool of every citizen and resident.

Health care might cost ten dollars a year in that system.

Done right it might even make money, that could be spent on sending people to medical school, for example.

  • There are many morons about--run of the mill morons mostly.

Friedman is a systematic moron, a real genius of complete incompetence in his chosen "field".

  • No. its not going to work, of course its not. The first one was done backwards, giving the money to the top instead of the "Bottom" getting the proverbial dicking from the owners of the country. I don't know what they're doing with this one, but I gotta say it makes me regret every moment I gave to the cause. At least McCain had SOMEthing going for him. He might have been old but he was too old to have an agenda as his purpose in office--obama on the other hand likely had no other purpose.

  • McCain was worse--directly to war, and fifty trillion more in the hole for the USAF and USN, yeah right.

Also, if Obama is naive, McCain is a rabid moron.

McCAin was a fraud from the getgo, an incompetent in the Navy turned into an ersatz hero.

But you are right, so far they are doing it all backwards--quite deliberately of course.

  • The one thing that I found about McCain that I Liked was that he was going to try and find out a way to reduce power consumption in washington, the single largest consumer of energy in the entire world. If He'd done that and gotten impeached the next week I'd have thought that he'd done his job. It may have been his only good idea, but it still was a pretty good idea.

  • Sometimes McCain talked a good game--supposedly as a "maverick".

But it was all PR and a fraud.

He is a liar and cheat--as with Enron. He belongs in jail.

But added to that he is also a macho man moron.

Admiral's son. Crashed so many planes, long before he was shot down, his mates called him "Ace".

'Divide and conquer' is the game.

It is the intent of those guilty of these grand crimes to have their victims fight amongst themselves. Sad to see so many taking the bait and making that strategy successful.

    Peace.

  • Obama is the Jewish Nigger Prince of the Zionists, and is under the guidance of Rahm Emanuel. When Neocons accused Obama of being Muslim, that was diversionary (and the election was fake), while the trail of Obama's lineage was erased (now you know why Rahm went to Africa in December 2008).

Obama's father was a Marxist Jew of Beta Israel, the spawn of Ethiopians who wandered into Kenya.

  • The United States has been intentionally bankrupted by the Zionists who created and control the Federal Reserve. The financial crisis is the impetuous to an eventual war with Russia, with Iran as a pretext in the currently mapped sequence, Russia is the major obstacle that blockades their final goal of a Jewish-Messianic One World government.

  • The people should not be afraid of there government...

    You know the rest.

  • In times of war, Presidents have raised taxes on the wealthiest Americans to pay for it.

Lincoln did it, including the 1st Inheritance Tax on the wealthy.

Wilson, FDR, & Johnson did it.

On the other hand, Bush gave a massive tax cut to the wealthiest Americans as we were at war (52% went to the top 1% - much of which was stashed in off-shore accts & never trickled down.)

    Bush was an idiot!

  • THROUGH THEM ALL OUT!!!

How do you fix debt by borrowing more money?

How do put confidence In the market by rewarding those that have failed to be honest businessmen?

The Government needs to stop writing checks our children cant afford.

  • What role did student loans play in the real estate collapse?

You don't know, MeLikeGoFast, do you?

You have never even thought about the mechanics.

  • mopsius, I don't know what role student loans played in the real estate collapse. Would you like to explain it to me?

I am kind of a moron, but you seem to want to discuss it. Have at it if you like; I'm a curious moron.

  • Just two ways of many more:

    (1) most student loans were adjustable rate and reset just as sub-prime collapsed, adding to the crisis.

    (2) ex-students up to their eyeballs in debt until their thirties at least are not good credit risks and they do not buy real estate.

  • More important, graduated students, who are supposed to get good jobs because of their "education", are taken out of the real estate market until their thirties, and with the rate reset were in even worse shape when real estate collapsed.

Plus their credit was shot. Lowering interest rates to zero or even making it negative does nothing--that generation is already tapped out.

But again it is only scratching the surface.

  • The financial elite is greedy, thieving, corrupt, and criminal.

But much worse than that they are also incompetent.

The US economy of debt/credit is a Greater Fool Theory writ large as the system.

  • If education is economically productive it should be free, as it is around most of the world.

It more than pays for itself over time, in taxes and consumption for example.

If it is not productive, student loans are even more lunatic.

Much of this nonsense began under Johnson during Vietnam, but the Right Wing has taken it to the level of outright insanity.

Kucinich has the right image--the US is one vast Company Store.

  • Milton Friedman came up with the student loan concept, and helped put it into effect, in the late 1950's as I recall.

Another one of his "brilliant" ideas--and a complete fuck-up for everyone economically and financially, except of course--you guessed it--banks.

  • Thank you, mopsius. I've had an econ class. I passed, but I didn't do very well because it was like some weird tricked out algebra that I couldn't consistantly grasp. An econ moron. The more I read about the economy, the more I feel like a retarded child. Thanks for putting it into simple terms for me. I still have student loans, which is partly why I was waiting to build or buy a home. I'm kind of pissed after reading this.

  • You want an interesting economic analogy, MeLikeGoFast--try Austro-Hungary through WWI.

    But analogies have limited import.

    Your five minutes are up.

    Now go play with yourself.

  • The US is about two blunders from Weimar.

Given their track record, I am fairly confident that the elite, given their heads, will make the necessary blunders, though other scenarios are possible, like default or World War.

  • The government figures are mostly fiction.

They have changed the criteria again and again.

Without including a multiplier on this or that data, or using old modes of analysis, you have no fucking idea how bad things are underneath the pablum being fed even the so-called professional economists.

    Roberts has an idea.

  • I can tell by your statment you clearly have a lack of understanding when it comes to economics.

You might want to actually watch the video I suggested.

It will help clear things up.

  • It is exactly tht satement that tells me you are incompetent--a monetaaist, eh?

The US does not even have a currency that rises to the level of a true fiat currency.

  • LOLOLOLOLOL.

Im not sure why youre so upset and feel the need to be rude.

But its cool, I couldnt care less.

Watch the video. Take some notes. Take the tin foil hat off.

    Cheers!

  • I don't suffer fools lightly, like you.

You have yet to say one thing intelligent on the subject of economics.

    You think debt/credit "stimulates", haha.

    It is the convention.

    Talk about tin foil.

Look up "reactive", that's a good little boy or girl.

  • I never said debt stimulates.

Youre the one who brought that up.

I suggested you watch the video.

Take off the tin foil hat.

Dont worry, the elitists wont drink your blood.

  • You don' know who you are dealing with--you don't even know who the "elite" are.

You know what looks like the elite.

Tell me one significant thing about State Street in Boston?

    One economic item of import?

    You are a moron.

The tin foil topos gives you away.

  • Is that where you work?

  • Ah, the rabbinical answer a question from a goy with a question, hehe.

Wonderful is not a response to reactive, is it?

  • Watch the video.

    Call me a moron.

    But whatch the video.

  • You are the one who claimed expertise in economics initially, as what? "Professionally". What school?

But you have made not one statement showing understanding.

    '

Now you use the emblem, "internet tough guy", hahaha.

That and tin foil give you away.

    Say something about Bastiat?

  • Im not sure what your ranting was supposed to prove.

Was is that you understand economics?

All I read was the rantings of a man who is upset at the "elite".

I used the emblem internet tough guy because you were calling me a moron the whole time.

I guess that is also a hard concept for you to grasp.

    Its ok.

If you notice, Im handling you with kid gloves.

I understand your mind is very fragile.

  • I never claimed expertise.

    I claimed your ignorance.

    So far Im right.

  • Debt credit is reactive--that's where your decisive mental block is, MeLike GoFast.

No wonder economics and the economists are so fucked up.

Ricardo thought paying less than subsistence was not logically possible.

He was wrong--the financial elite has worked out a way.

  • Okay, one more chance, MeLikeGoFast.

Who invented Student loans, and why are they economically counterproductive.

    Five minutes.

    Last chance.

  • Credit is a wonderful thing when used correctly.

  • "Credit is a wonderful thing when used correctly. :

    That is not the question.

    Debt/credit is reactive.

    That is the statement.

    "Wonderful" is meaningless.

That is by the way mechanically.

    What a moron.

  • I still dont see why you disagree with the video.

Youve said nothing that contradicts what the video is suggesting.

I understand youre an internet tough guy, and thats fine.

But if you would take a minute to watch the video instead of trying to bash me you would probably agree with it.

  • Sayone intellgient thing on, say, barges?

    Do you know barges?

Not as the thing but economically and financially.

    You know shit.

  • "wonderful" is not a response to "reactive", is it?

  • You still havent countered the videos arguement.

    Which was my whole point.

Do you feel like calling me a moron again?

    Go for it.

  • Most professional American economists have their heads up their asses.

What a job they have done, HAHAHAHA.

Roberts is an exception--not because of his ideology.

    He knows the real figures.

Unless you are Roberts or know his work, no sense talking.

The currency is shot--gone, over, caput unless oil is nationalized.

Not worth discussing if you cannot grasp that.

  • Tiananmen--HAHAHA. There is a structural element no one has written about, but was exploited by the Chinese Communists in the same way the elite tried to exploit something similar in the '60s.

Over the heads of dumbos and the historically ignorant.

    Yi yan nan jin.

  • Care to know exactly what is wrong with the stimulus, and how we can recover from this financial crisis?

    watch?v=uyPcRGvtu18

  • Debt/credit is reactive.

There is nothing to stimulate economically.

There is no solution to the currency crisis at this point unless oil is nationalized and disattached from the currency.

  • Watch the video.

You seem a bit confused and the video will help with that.

  • I watched enough to see it is fantasy.

  • That means you didnt watch long enouhg.

    Take some economics courses.

It will all make sense after that.

    Cheers!

  • I had more economics before I was twenty that you likely had in your whole life.

    And more afterwards too.

    You are a moron.

  • How can you know the solution the video is suggeting if you didnt watch it?

What part of the video was incorrect?

The governments own data about tax cuts?

Or the calculation done by Obamas own administration proving its better than the current stimulus?

    Again, just curious.

  • Want to discuss economics?

    Debt/credit is reactive.

    Discuss.

Say something intelligent on the subject.

Five minutes before I get bored.

  • Obama's "stimulus" package is utterly ill-conceived.

So is his health care proposal.

He is a lawyer and a politician and does not know economics from a hole int he ground.

  • Read all the works of Paul Craig Roberts.

Ideology aside he is an honest broker of the real numbers.

There is no solution to the currency collapse unless oil is nationalized first.

That is not the solution that is one necessary but not sufficient step.

    You are an economic naif.

  • Sorry, no need to read anyones work.

This is what I do for a living.

How can you know the solution the video is suggeting if you didnt watch it?

    Just curious, osmosis?

  • The US cannot count on a Yeltsin or a Red Army.
