it's not really a 'fusion'. i guess originally it was, but there was a huge population of jews in spain until about 1492. so up till then, they had their own style that contributed to flamenco. yes, it has similarities with arab and gypsy music.

I think Sephardic or Sefardi refers to the jews who travelled (sefar means travel in arabic) or rather were obliged to emigrate from Spain (by the Reyes Catolicos 1490?). They moved back to middle east and Turkey. Utill then Moslems, Jews and Christians lived in harmony in Spain and developed together.
