There were some games in the playoffs and finals when Shaq was in foul trouble, or fouled out (remember shaq was known to commit his share of offensive fouls), and Kobe had to step up and take over those game, which requires clutch. We know Lebron is NOT clutch, that is a fact. Based on what we DO know about Lebron we can safely assume he would have frozen up in those moments, which hurts championship chances.
Also, I like Lebron as a player, he is awesome, Kobe is awesome too. People who argue Kobe is garbage, or even that Lebron is garbage just don't know basketball at all. They are both talented and deserve respect. However! MJ kills both of them any day of the week! lol

He had Shaq and when he won his rings recently, he had Gasol. Lebron took Cleveland to the eastern Finals BY HIMSELF. Now that lebron has help in Miami, Lebron will get his rings. Also chemistry doesnt come overnight. Miami was impressive making it to the finals while lebron was adapting to playin with all stars

There were some games in the playoffs and finals when Shaq was in foul trouble, or fouled out (remember shaq was known to commit his share of offensive fouls), and Kobe had to step up and take over those game, which requires clutch. We know Lebron is NOT clutch, that is a fact. Based on what we DO know about Lebron we can safely assume he would have frozen up in those moments, which hurts championship chances.

Kobe was young when he was playing with Shaq, yet he was able to do many things on the court. Young LeBron was one-dimensional, all he could do was dunk. Also, the Lakers needed Kobe as a go-to guy in the clutch. Young LeBron was not clutch. The Lakers would NOT have won more than three titles if they had LeBron, not Kobe. Hell, even now, I'd take a prime Kobe with prime Shaq than a prime LeBron with a prime Shaq.

Shaq deserved it, but if you ask the big man himself he'll tell you that he and Kobe were the best big man little man duel of all time. Meaning he couldn't have done it without Kobe. All those stats you brought up good stuff with no real value. Don't talk about career stat until a man career is over because trust me there will be a decline. As far as in game stats go 81pt. 4 strait 50 pt games 5 60 plus games. 12 3pt nba record. a string of more than 63 make at the line, 2 or more steal a game.

Kobe is the most cerebral player in the game. Lebron is just a physical freak of nature (not in a bad way). Kobe has the best mind and lebron and the best physical assets. But Brains always beats brawn and in this case kobe's brain beats lebron. I love both players but the physical things will go away with time. The Mind has no effective age limit.

@Bones87ish Kobe has 4 all-star MVP's (tied NBA record). 3 of 4 came w/ lebron playing in those allstar games. kobe's an 13 time allstar. most 3's in a game w/ 12. 81 in 42 min of basketball. Finals MVP 2 times. 5 time CHAMPION. So what lebron scores a lot and can jump. when he gets kobe's age and has to rely on his brain to win people will see that he isnt really worth the crown. Karl Malone scored a lot too. He had no rings and because of that u rarely hear of him anymore.

@mooliahg Kobe's been in the league half the time longer than LeBron so he better have more all star mvp's. N the only reason he won it last yr cause the West ended up winning it. If the East won LeBron would've been the all star mvp. N Shaq was responsible for Kobe getting his 1st 3 championships n then 3 7 footers help him win his next 2. Not to mention Kobe's the worse finals mvp in nba history going 6 for 24.

As far as 3 of 4 rings with Shaq that's more vise versa don't you think. Shaq had his chance in Orlando and couldn't win. Kobe set the tone for the Nba finals aginst Orlando in game 1 and did the same in the Boston series. At least the man has championships which is most important stat of any players career.

@Bones87ish Regular season stats are meanigless. What do you do when it really MEANS SOMETHING? there have been alot of players with freakish athletic ability that couldnt win anything. Teams stacked with so much talent that they could have 2 starting fives and still couldnt bring home the chip. Its all about heart and teamwork. No ONE player EVER won a chip by themselves. You have to put talent around you. And by the way, Shaq ALWAYS had a top 3 player with him when he won a chip.

@MrSandman005 Sure n e player would rather win a chip but a reg season mvp award is something to be really proud of. Btw in LBJ's 2nd yr in the NBA he already averaged 30.8 points in the playoffs n in his 4th yr in the league he averaged 35.3 points in the playoffs. This past last yr was the 1st time he had a good team n the Heat is still an incomplete team if u know basketball u would agree. It's only LBJ's n Wade Bosh is an X factor who can't play D.

@Bones87ish Kobe has more game winning shot than anyone in the history of the NBA. his scoring number's stayed high even though playing along side a demanding Shaq & Gasol. Lebron put up high numbers like that because he was the only legit player in Cleveland. its more impressive to average in the 20's when your the 2nd option behind Shaq. Kobe is also in the tougher conference. Which showed in the finals this year. dont get me wrong lebron is the best player athletically. no one will deny that.

@mooliahg LeBron actually has a better percentage from game winning shots than Kobe. It just looks like the other way around cause Kobe gets more attempts to do it but his percentage is horrible if u look it up on hoopdata. Plus Kobe's already been playing for a longer time than Jordan has

@Bones87ish True Champs shine in crunch time which lebron has failed to learn how to do. Lebron has to think more like kobe and jordan. I love the fact the he shares the ball but at which point will he start to say" its 4th qtr give me the ball"? If he had the mind of Kobe or jordan I'd say he's the best player ever in the world but he doesnt. he gave up against boston. and choked in the finals against dallas. I honestly think it was a mistake for him to go to miami. the bulls were a better fit

@Bones87ish lebron is a great scorer no doubt about it. but he needs to do it in the 4th. he passes too much end the end of games. jordon and kobe hog the ball in the 4th and lebron has to do the same. so what if people say your passing less & your teammates get upset. they wont be mad when u win them a ring. @Bones87ish Nothing against lebron cause im a fan of his & i love his physical game. but he has to become dominate mentally or else when he gets kobe's age he will be useless. if u dont believe me look at vince carter. athletic ability goes away with time. But the knowledge of the game can still grow. so again i say. Kobe is better mentally which is the HARDEST to master. Lebron is better physically. But thats my opinion. as a basketball player myself ive played people physically better than me.

@Bones87ish And i usually win because i can out think them as use their own physical assets against them. being able to block shots for instance is great but if i use your aggressiveness against u as u try to block my shot then i can get u in foul trouble and have u on the bench. thus making the game easier for me.
