@Lufiend hi :), it wasn't me that suggest this. I taked this information in a radio program abouy Purcell music with a Dryen biographer (I don't remember his name). King Arthur was written with many complicity by Purcell and Dryen (that also had many musical ideas). I could listened wrongly concerning this part but I'm positive that he said this. :) If Mehdicaps watch this he could give us some clarifications. :)
