@straitfast: Well that happens sometimes... If you are clever you drive in those wide edges, Otherwise they close the whole tunnel...

Sorry, but with all (too much actually) the petrol stations there are in our countries, you should not be allowed to drive anymore for several months (or say at least 1) if it happens you run out of gas on a road where you would block the traffic like a tunnel...

The cars are well equipped to tell you about the coming problem too. Reserve + Optical and Audio Signal.

We can every 50 meters the whole wall over a length of 5 meters open automatically. in addition to fire prevention system capable of every fire must be extinguished in seconds. The resultant smoke is cleared away to 99.9%. by accident, thanks to intelligent crane system vehicles within a few minutes to be made​from the tunnel.

Conclusion: You can drive without fear through the longest tunnel in Europe :)

@Arnhem1972 The longest tunnel to be completed for trains is under construction. The Gothard base tunnel in switzerland. Started in 1993 and should be completed in 2017.

really nice your videos.. actually my nacionality isn't swiss 'cause my parents are portuguese, but i born in switzerland when they went there to work... there is a really long time that i don't go to switzerland 'cause it's a bit expensive, but i know it is a really great and beautiful country, and has really good quality of life... I love Switzerland, I've been there two times, the first one during winter (dec 2007) and the second one during summer (jun 2008). Such a beautiful country! The first time I took the train from Milan to Lucern. What a sight!

I mounted the camera behind the Window. I used my TomTom Holder and put the camera with tape on that :-) I used "MAGIX Video Pro X" you can downlaod and use it 30 day. Then you have to pay... Good luck

Thank you. Well there is also a way over the mountain... But not for so much traffic. Every year in Summer we have Jam before the tunnel. Sometimes up to 20km and more :-)
