at first, the idea of these palettes was really appealing to me, but if i want to spend 25 dollars on makeup, there are companies like elf where i can get so much more stuff for the same money. or i could get expensive makeup.

i just can't imagine people actually using these on a daily basis..

idk. companies make money, youtubers score free products. viewers just shouldn't make their whole decision based on a couple videos they've seen.

I agree, with you to an extent...I tried elf and even though its really cheap the quality is too, i think... and compared to other make up palettes, coastal scents its crazy cheap!! and amazing quality!! personaly i think its a great buy! but of corse everyone is different

Another positive proof of a coastal scents employee threatening me. The palettes are cheap and with high lead content that is the truth. Its very sad you would affiliate yourself to a company with these type pf practices.

I LOVE all the GURU's on youtube the all have great advice on all sorts of products I ordered this palette and I absolutly love it , my daughter is more into the colorful shadows so she ordered the other two 88 palettes and I must say everything you say about them is true they're great , although I must say I havent noticed the smell = ]

CS isn't the only place to buy the various palettes in this line. Ebay has tons of them for sale, too. Anyway, I have the 120 set and while it has practically every color you can imagine, the payoff isn't the best. I'm also one that didn't have a great experience with CS but a few of their brushes are good. Both the palettes and the brushes are good for beginners, tho.

I just bought about $20 worth of brushes today from coastal scents. The only brushes I currently have are from Estee Lauder free sets (you know the spend $20 more and get this gift-thing) I live in a tiny area I may have seen NYX at the local wig shop but our Dillards doesn't carry Mac or Nars, I don't like clinique and Estee isn't in my budget so I stick with Wal Mart and Drug Stores, sometimes Sally Beauty Store. Wal Mart started carring Revlon makeup brushes but I don't think they're

I dont understand why people have a problem with cheap makeup. Money doesnt always mean quality.

I've got some 79cent shadow from a flea market that looks just as good as some of my pigments.

I don't have a problem with cheap makeup. I just don't like spending money on cheap stuff ONLY because it's cheap. Ever go to a sale and buy things you wouldn't normally buy, but the price was too good to pass up? That's what I'm talking about. Even if it is only 20 bucks, if you never use it, it's still 20 down the drain. If you do use it and like it, more power to you. Peace.

I just got my palette this week and I LOVE IT! Im not a beginner and I have 4 other MAC palettes but I think that this one is absolutely amazing. Ive used it everyday this week and i have done a new look every day! it has kewl pink and smokey purples that are just wonderful. im in love w/ this palette.

If we pay attention to what some beauty bloggers say, they never actually recommend CS in place of MAC or other brands. Some of them are sometimes reproached to be a bit snob by using only high quality brands, so I believe they thought about people starting makeup on a budget($20 a palette if you're not sure to invest more in it is a good start). I personally don't buy cheap MU but I think it's nice of them to think about every kind of budgets. :o)

coastal scents is really trying to pimp these out. smart marketing method-using beauty bloggers for advertising. i fell for the 88 color palette, but it's just junk in my closet-not really good quality but all the buzz made me want to buy it.

I allllmooosttt bought it because of all the hype, but i had my suspicions about the quality.. it looks like cheap makeup i had when i was a little girl or somthing. its kinda sad that beauty bloggers who usually give GOOD advice about products are "fluffing" the truth about this palette. well thanks again for being honest, i hope more people realize this =)

yeah i was thinking the same thing too. i noticed all the beauty bloggers suddenly make videos about the same lines at the same time, and i had a hunch it was more of a marketing ploy/hype than actual genuine "yes this is a great must have product". i dont know if thats mean. once i read all the real reviews about the CS brushes, i started to doubt the quality of the palettes too.

Yeah, it's funny how EVERY guru that's reviewed Coastal Scents products did them at almost the exact same time, and how they all RAVE about them. I paid for their brushes and a pallet with my own money, and...they suck. I've lost all respect for these "gurus", and have removed them from my subscriptions. Maybe if others do the same, they will stop being as shady as the company themself.

why does everyone say that? My sis is in makeup school and she is studying to be a makeup artist and she said it is a good quality palette. I'm not a beginner and I have many mac palettes and this one works for me just as well as any of the mac shadows

I said that because NO ONE else is giving an alternate view of this palette, and I find that disconcerting. No one spoke up and gave an alternative view to Hitler, and what happened then? I'm NOT saying Pursebuzz is Hitler LOL-I'm just saying that everyone needs to hear both sides of an argument in order to make an informed decision. I personally didn't have a good experience with Coastal Scents, so I only wanted to speak up so others can evaluate if they need to blow $20 on this.

dino, I spent $20 on the 88 palette. The quality is "good enough" for me to experiment and find out what colors work best together and with my skin tone so that I can actually go out and make wiser investments when buying MAC/NARS eyeshadows. In other words, the 88 palette helps me make an *informed decision* when it comes to investing in higher quality makeup. That's why pursebuzz recommends the palette for people who are NEW to makeup, so they can experiment without the guilt!
