@ADDA889 i don't think it's a reference to a specific episode, i think it's a reference to the whole show of "firefly"..both in the fact Castle just starts speaking in Mandarin and the fact he says he learned it from "a tv show".

It's on par with his Firefly Mandarin. Adequate but not that good. First sentence was okay, He messed up a couple words on the second sentence.

At least he wasn't speaking crazy translations like in Firefly.

@sth128 In defense of Firefly, Mandarin had been evolving and merging w/ English for hundreds of years by then :) Problem being, if you really did learn Mandarin from Firefly, 90% of your vocabulary would be poorly-translated vulgarities...

"Defense" like that make me want to hate Firefly. If English doesn't turn into gibberish, no reason Chinese should. The whole "Chinese speaking" aspect of Firefly was just a gimmick. It wasn't essential to the plot. I'm not holding the bad accent or translation against the show, so stop trying to defend it.

You want to be a brown coat, be a brown coat to the alliance, not to Chinese brown coats.
