  • No offense but your tone is about as brutal as a yorkie taking a shit in a rose garden.

  • @Maxpound If so, you're probably on some douchy laptop speakers, get some real headphones or speakers and you'll get some bass. I have to say your own videos stinks..

  • @Jonaitify except I have studio quality headphones that I use for my laptop. Also I don't have a uploaded video.

  • @Maxpound Cool, same here. And you had some videos but maybe you have them removed by now.

The taste is different to everone so if you don't like it, piss of to somewhere you find things you like.

  • @Jonaitify Some one has a sandy vagina. just make sure it doesnt on my carpet.

  • ...Oh, talking brilliance. Who the fuck wants brilliance on a downtuned 7 string.

  • @Geetarfrik I respect you as a Mashall fan, BUT, the 6505/5150 is declared of very good proof everywhere to cut through with its remarkable unique heavy tone, and if you want it, you can have it down at just 2 on Pregain and and push it to 8-9 on High, and adding the presenceboost even more to make the higher frequencies cut through as you think your Marshall is the only think that can do. But that isnt true anywhere unfortunately

  • @Geetarfrik wtf are you talking bout man?

just crank those mids a bit more, and you will be fine with the 6505.

  • @RareFlax not meaning to sound harsh btw, just trying to help.

  • @Geetarfrik Also, you can really not judge the sound by this cellphone record, you know, "if youve been there"... haha...

  • i would mod all peavey with FJA

  • @padawan007 what does that do exactly? im not sure

  • i always wondered how a 7 string would sound with a 6505

    sounds good lol

  • 0:31-0:59 is outstanding.

  • @Casey4062009 thanks man. I played crap that day tho. to thin string gauge

  • sounds like a normal 6505 or 5150

the only difference is that it sounds like youre tuned low to B or something

  • @mkho it sure is just the way you described it

  • This sounds heavy as fuck. I like it.

  • show it how it sound without the damn drops god damn my shit laney can sound almost the sae with under the ass drop

  • try dimarzio evolutions. i love mine

  • @skatezero1260 nah. if you want EMG power without the sterile sound get Bareknuckle Ceramic Warpigs. They actually have considerable high-end for 22k DC.

  • @3amRadio

...and then it all appears to rely ultimately on what kind of guitar your mics are in... ;)

  • Crazy gain modifying? = 6505 MODED? or some booster screamer

  • Nothing, just the simple rig! But it turns out maybe Im the only one here that knows where to put the mic/cam..

  • or.... drop the emgs and get sum blackouts.

  • Its a seven string and its tuned in C, 7th string dropped to A. EMGs. Crazy gain modifying, but nothing for me.

  • i got a question, i often read that people that use this amp also use emg pickups... is it necessary to use active ones? because i just heard bad things about active pickups and i also prefer passive ones...

  • that depends on what music you want to play.. to get the screaming overtones you only can get through a 5150/6505 you cerrtainly will need them, if you want more dynamics you should get a pair of seymour duncan Blackouts. Personally I think EMGs is the best suited for the 6505. You have it full on but can always reduce the gain and have some of the dynamics back if you want.

  • @RareFlax emgs sound best if you dig the square wave sound. it has a compressor+limiter sound to me. which i do like in a live setting sometimes.

but i record alot and emg's tone don't tend to cut through that easy in mixes as say a gibson classic.

  • @mkho That's why most artists that use EMG guitars live use different guitars in the studio.

  • @mynameisDavid92 thats not true anywhere Im afraid.

Its not the EMG itself all and only, theres a reputation that "EMG is just pure dist and nothing else"

if you just be careful with the pre-gain/gain on your amp, you'll see the EMG handles everything fine, the only thing that then stands out is its good and clear response, which is a good thing, in comparison to some others that instead will sound lame.

  • @mkho you made comparison between "emg" and another guitar there, instead of its mices, makes me think you just favor the other brand more. ;) what mic are in the gibson? cause that is what matters, for a fair comparison.

  • i prefer active they have a more powerful sound to them. the only problem is changing the batteries but that only needs to be done every few months or so.

  • lol just unplug your guitar! i play everday and havent replaced it in 2 years!

  • i've played through this amp numerous times and my uncle owns a 5150 basically the same amp as this just different name and you can play any guitar through it and it'll sound fine this amp is definitely meant for high gain stuff especially towards the metal end of things i still scratch my head when i found out these were made for van halen just doesn't add up when this amp is capable of such brutality but if you want good passive pickups get dimarzio, bare knuckle, or lundgren pickups awesome!

  • @BlackBreeze active pickups sound bad in bad gutars. they allow the natural tone of the guitar to come through without pissing around with adding mid frequencies to muddy everything up (dimarzio)

emgs in a cheap strat copy will show the thin reedy tone of the instrument but put them in a les paul and it will sing for days.

  • @dayiiv true! unfortunately I have to say thats very true. The sound from the EMGs in my Schecter C7 Hellraiser isnt at all that heavy as the sound from the Ibanez S 570's domesticmade mics. The Ibanez also has a body of Mahogany but it seems to be of much more density as it weights kind of twice as much as the Schecter (thereby also much more heavy sound) I've made a new user, I am "rareflax" :P

  • @BlackBreeze

    They Ducan invaders

They burn like an active but their passive

  • @SIGN666 i like your attitude and your right about the isp if your gonna have a full stack u need that shit its like your baby

  • Put an EMG81-7 in the bridge dude. Watch my cover of Unanswered and listen to my tone.

  • Brown Note FTW.

  • bassy, just about no mid (around 1,5 think of an 10 band EQ would seem to be "straightened" horizontal, thats what it sounds like), keep the treble to 5, push the power amp presence to 7 to get some more high mids out.

  • saw them last night

  • evergreeeeey :->

  • so brutal than lamb of god and slipoknot

  • think I'll put something new up soon :)

  • at first I can't recognize that riff, although I knew it, but now I know: Evergrey - Numb ;)

  • nice riffing

  • yeah sounds cool!

  • could have tuned the guitar properly first..

  • It is well tuned in my opinion. With the B string dropped 2 bands (A) it gets a bit unstable as of allways when talking about tuning down guitars without having a thicker string gauge.

  • lol ok, the get some thicker strings ;)

  • sounds amazing.

and stupidly dropped tunings are the go.

  • 5150 and 6505 are the best amps for the money. they sound brutal. but if you like shelling out cash get an ENGL.

  • nice man.

    check my 6505 vid.

  • You're saying that engl's are better than 6505+? I'm buying an amp and I can't deicide between Engl Powerball, Peavey 6505 + and H&K triamp.

  • powerball for sure. wait is it the MK II Triamp? and is it the 100 watt powerball or the 60 watt?

  • MK II Triamp and a 100W powerball :D

  • If your playing metal, I say powerball. If you want a smoother sound instead of the TIGHT metal ENGL sound, get the MK II. I would personally get the powerball. I have an Invader 100 myself.

  • So you're saying that Triamp is more of a rock sounding amp? What about Peavey 6505 +?

  • Yup, the Triamp is more rock sounding. If you wanna hear some clips how the triamp sounds like, listen to Saosin lol The 6505+ is a good amp for metal if you have a small budget. Its fizzy as fuck no offence. I had one so I know. Get the powerball hands down.

  • Well yeah I'm going to try triamp out. You're saying that Powerball beats 6505 + anytime?

  • yup. any engl beats peavey unless maybe you got like 10 racks with the peavey. Id still take an ENGL anyday.

  • Whats the difference between ENGL powerball and the 6505?

    Also, ever tried Framus?

  • engl is pretty much the same as the 6505, but it is nicer at lower volumes..

and framus' are rediclulouss... nice tone

you should also have a listen to

    a splawn nitro, sooo nice

hughes and ketner Triamp MKII, sick amp

  • an engl is nothing like a 6505. its like comparing a Ferrari to a Chevrolet. ENGL kills ANY peavey. Framus are nice amps. A Splawn Nitro is really sick too and so is MK II but engl is way better than 6505.

  • 5150 can hold it's own to any metal amp including ENGL. Plus engls sound like shit when they get cranked.

  • engls sound AMAZING AT ANY volume. 5150 cant touch engl.

  • aahah okay buddy

    many will disagree with you.

  • Ive had a 6505+ and a 5150 and now i have an Invader 100. Invader wins hands down. Its tight, punchy and agressive. 5150 is a good cheap amp for those who dont have alot of money to spend. for the money, the 5150 is a sweet amp.

  • In the opposite spectrum.

I can afford an invader 100 easily. but I don't buy one because I love my 5150 better. It's just preference. I'm not gonna bash ENGL's anymore because w/e you like is what you like.

  • thats true. my buddy has a 5150. he likes it more than the 6505+ he had. I traded him my 5150 for his + and then sold his plus cuz i was gonna sell thw 5150 so might as well give it to someone i will be jammin alot with :) ill make some riffage with my invader and show u guys :)

  • mainly my Invader 100 , a powerball and SE. I wouldnt take a bugera over a 5150 because 5150 is better and more reliable than bugera although bugera is good for the money, it breaks easily and is made in China.

  • go listen to the hatebrood 6262 cover. best tone ive heard from an amp thats not $3k

  • a 5150 or a 2 channel mesa dual rec sounds way better than any bugera although bugera is preety nice for the money.

  • Go check them out. I have a 5150 and a carvin v3 which is better than a recto. Bugera 6262 is up there with engl se, vht deliverance and framus cobra for me.

  • actually the dual- or triple- has nothing to do with the number of channels, but the number of rectifier tubes. the newest range of dual rectifiers do have 3 channels

  • the ENGL is tighter and not fizzy. its the tightest amp there is. The 6505 and 5150 are SICK amps for the price. for the price, nothing beats em. You gotta remember an ENGL can cost over 2000 which a 6505 or 5150 are like 700. ENGL is the best metal amp in my opinion not considering their expensiveness.

  • Ok lets forget about the price here... You see here in Sweden theres not that much difference. 6505 goes for about 15,000k, and the Engl Powerball for 19,500, so.

You say the 6505/5150 is fizzier? What does that mean, my english is not that good..

  • its no harsh like buzzy. i dont know how else to say it.

  • Well yeah I'm Slovenian. So here in Slovenia, I can get the powerball for 1400€ and 6505+ for 1100€

  • OH MY GOD. 1100 Euro for a 6505+? dude. DONT BUY THAT its not worth it. Get the powerball hands down. you will be MUCH MORE happy with it because its WAY better. trust me.

  • I will.. I already ordered it at my local music shop.

  • just out of curiosity, what cabinet was being used with the 6505?

because you need a good cab to handle power.

i perfer orange or krank cabs to go with the head.

just make sure its not an off brand. cellestions sound best with 6505.

  • I use a Behringer F412. Not the best but definitely not the worts but it suits me. And it sure can handle power.

  • ok, the fizzy is called feedback.

    noise gate, boom problems fixed.

and if its really bad try stepping farther away from it while playing it.

make sure its not near any computers, or other electronic devices.

    the problem should go away.

  • H&K Triamp MKII !

do it man, ive got a 6505+ and i would prefer the tiramp anyday

its nice but nowhere near the Kettner

  • for metal a powerball is better than MK II depends what sound u wanna get but ENGL is the god of metal amps.

  • already tried it out. I don't like it. :D I couldn't get that metal type of sound out. It's to rock sounding.

  • the MK II? yea its more of a rock amp i told you. get the powerball.

  • yeah man. Are you certain that powerball truly has more gain?

  • Its not the gain that makes it metal ;) grow up.

  • AAARG, they should make cell phone with condenser mics with high SPL's. I know i would buy it!

  • Haha! Me too!

  • Evergrey!!!

  • fucking sounds great i was surprised

  • vintage 30's with that head is the best way to go !!!

  • This is just a Behringer 4x12 with Jensen. And its not too bad! Any experience of vintage 30's? what cabinets?

  • yea i use the randall xl 4x12 with vintage 30s, stereo cab ,solid birch wood the best i've had yet *****

  • Nice dude, i have the 5150 myself, check out my vids.

  • what are your settings dude?

i wanna play around with them, this tone is brutal!

  • I could have had a bit more guitar (precense about 5,5, should have been 6,6)

Well, the amp is very middle high itself, so try push the mid in the EQ section down a bit cause it doesnt affect the sound in a "scooped" way at all.. Mid around 2, much bass, not so much treble. Use the presence in the Power amp boost to get the "guitar" out of the amp. Practically I mean the high mid to treble register.. This way you get a more balanced frequency curve/sound

  • are you tuned in A? sounds wicked man

  • wicked..? Yep, dropped 2 bands. So, A.

  • You go bro!! Awesome :D
