I wanted to try this method but I hear from somebody its very fire hazard and can burn the house down? Is this true and if how can I prevent it from happening. And instead of 2 white lights could I put 4 black lights.
@ErvinJ24s I havent had any problems but some other people have, just be carful, dont let it dry out on anything that can cause problems like paint chipping
@SCODTTY actually the florescent lights put off UV rays, the more UV rays the better. Thats why it works fastest outside because the sun puts off so many UV rays
@SneakerRevival you should make more videos of all your restorations, with like before and after pics like wat u did with ur og cool greys and how many sessiosn did u do some kid said he did 5-6 sessions with 10-12 hours each? i thought tht was wayyy to long
@SCODTTY well actually with an indoor setup, if your confident that that heat is not an issue, you could leave them in as long as you want, just make sure and be really careful that they aren't getting excessively hot to where the soles can separate. if you were to leave them outside for that long than yes, thats wayyyy to long. Indoor setups will take a while compared to outdoor. Its all about repetition and patience.
I've been looking to do a indoor setup for quite some time now but I just don't know what kind of lights I need to start out with... Can u help me with this??? And one more thing have you ever tried a black light setup???
@256andra for details on my bulbs check my other indoor setup video i have, as for the actually light sockets, they are the lights you buy that you can clamp onto things with a metal reflector on the end, i just took off the clamp and reflector and your left with a light bulb socket that you can plug into a wall
hey man, this is a great vid, i think im going to try this on my pewter foams. I have one question though, is it ok to use regular 100 watt bulbs or do i have to use fluorescent bulbs?
@Jb122296 i would use florescent bulbs. they only use 26 watts to put off the light that a 100 watt bulb would put out. This means ALOT less heat and no sole separation!
Hey bro, would the retrobright formula work on patent leather. I wanna try it out on the patent leather on the columbia 11's, the patents super yellow. Do you think it would bring it back to its original white?
@EnviedFeet I don't have any columbias to try it on but a guy on sole collector said he tried it for a while with now results :( he said it didn't damage it in anyway so you could try but I'm not sure if you will see any change.
@EnviedFeet the have to put off UV rays, florescent lights from walmart do the trick. are they 26 watt but they say something like 75 watt or 100 watt replacement? florescent bulbs are low wattage but put off as much light as a normal 75 or 100 watt bulb
Nice set up! I dot get how your not getting sole separation though. Ive gotten it on both my low cherry xi's. I have a 3 bulb setup 2 6500k daylight and 1 3500k bright effect bulbs and my sneaker sits maybe a foot away from the light and I did 1 shoe on a 2 hr session with retr0bright and it separated... And did the other in 30min sessions with seaglow and both separated :-/
@kwong819 damn not good. possibly that third bulb is whats doing it? maybe there too close to the bulb? restoremysneakers video has some good pointers on how to keep them from heating up, you might check that out. good luck man
good stuff, really like the creativity and innovation. Just one thing to consider, you may want to cover the patent leather because that stuff oxidizes too. - the camera guy

@SCODTTY its going to vary from shoe to shoe depending on your setup and stuff, but I did probably 5 5 hour sessions and 2 or 3 overnight sessions.
