  • So sensual.... without trying.

    Those glancing eyes....

Anyone could fall in love with this person..... Astrud.

  • Purity...

  • Y'know, the words just get stuck in my throat....

  • Haha. I don't think he meant that Astrud was the Girl from Ipanema, I think he was just referring to what she got so famous on ;)

  • You cannot catagorize this voice in one style of music.

    That voice is angelic.

The style is pure class.... that's how was in the 60's !

  • im in love with this woman

  • The really "Girl from Ipanema" is Helô Pinheiro, not Astrud Gilberto.

  • OMG!!!.... I'm in love!!!

  • @Rorh92 that's true! I love Joao Gilberto and stan getz!

  • oh my god she's amazing

  • Me and my wife listen to Astrud Gilberto all the time. We love her samba. Too bad she's not as popular as she should be

  • @jonnyfender7 that make her better!

  • When you see people like her, and think of todays pop queens. Well what can you say.

  • wiki - "the girl from ipanema" to see the real girl from ipanema!

  • Is She real? I mean after all this rudness? I guess she is. I hope "it's" still alive.

  • One of the most beautiful love songs I ever heard.

  • The one and only - I'm such a big fan of Astrud...thanks for this upload

  • cat eyes

  • Thanks thanks thanks for posting. Never seen this before... what an awesome video of our beloved Astrud....Lovin it so much. One of my all time favs.

    Cheers. Shari and Craig

  • Simplesmente lindo. Pena que conhecido por poucos.

  • Yes I actually thought that they put in her a pair of those contact lenses that give you weird eyes (like cat eyes) in the cinema, but they didn't exist in those days.

  • Helô Pinheiro was the real girl from Ipanema. She owns a couple of bikini shops called Garota de Ipanema.

  • that was fantastic, marvelous....

  • Astrud Gilberto wasn't "The Girl from Ipanema." When Antonio Carlos Jobim wrote the song, he was doing so about a pretty woman that he used to see in his Ipanema neighborhood in Rio de Janiero. Astrud is from the Bahia region of Brazil, and was married to Joao Gilberto, the Father of Bossa Nova.

  • Thank you for uploading this it's one of my favorite tunes...

  • is it just me or does she look scary in this video?

her eyes look like cat eyes...

  • @coolgene91

She was a housewife in the Joao Gilberto houshold before shooting into fame. She appeared uneasy in many early day recordings. Her story was a miracle but the break up with Joao was sad.

  • @hkjazz1 yeah i agree with you on that... its just that in this video, i dunno what it is, but the shadow makes her look really SCARY lol

  • La mejor canción de amor que he escuchado en mi vida. Gracias Jobin, gracias Astrud.

  • she is definitely bossa nova queen of all times. Cool voice, soothing and very relaxing.

One thing is sure of...a singer need not to sing at higher notes always just to be called good or great singer.

a good singer relaxes the mind of the listener.

  • Thank you for posting; I had never seen this live performance, I love it!

  • wonderful!!!

  • Seeing her in this live clip, I can't help but think how shy she seems.

  • SHE'S SO GORGEOUS!!!!!

  • cool!

  • This is priceless!!! Beautiful voice, beautiful person.
