wtf is this bitch's problem every time i turn around this mother fucker has stolen something or copied shit that don't belong to her and then slaps an inspiration label on it, like it wasn't her intentions to steal, no bitch you stole it, so stop with the bullshit innocent acts they're as horrible as your acting skills and fronting like nobody knows that you're a thief already
AWW you guys sound stupid as hell how many times did Bey said this inspired by the frug...........its a shame how bad you guys could talk about a woman...
some of y'all are fucking stupid since it has long been said that GMB was a remake of Sweet Charity's The Frug....apparently some of y'all don't know shit. Retards...
Just by reading through these comments, I see that a lot of her Zombie Fans can't accept the fact that this woman is a copy cat. she's not original, she's talentless if she has to steal from other artist and videos...and she's done this time and time again. She's not "INSPIRED" she's a COPY CAT...nothing this PATHETIC person has done, and I mean nothing is ORIGINAL. She's copied this video and FOSSES video for Single Ladies, not one thing has she done is original. PATHETIC BITCH.
I know Beyonce isn't a creative force as her family would like for us to believe. Bey is a very talented singer and stage perform. THAT'S IT. Songwriting, producing, being creative and acting are not talents of hers at all--which nothing is wrong with that just be honest about it. And to think that after she bascially copied this for her own "Get Me Bodied" video, she had the nerves to say that "Get Me Bodied" was the MODERN DAY THRILLER!! Knowing full well she copied the theme elsewhere.
You guys are killing me. I see so many comments that say "Beyonce has never done anything original," but it's obvious that you don't want to focus on her other work. If I Were A Boy and Me, Myself and I are masterpiece music videos. Crazy In Love, Baby Boy, Irreplaceable? Did she never release those? Comment about every video if you're gonna say nothing is original.
@jidiot04 - If I were a Boy was a copy of Ciara's song, then Irreplaceable was not written by her as she claimed, she tried to pass it off as her writing when Neyo busted her out to the media that he wrote the song, none of those songs did she write, she can add a line and put her name to songwriting credits. Her writing credits have always been questioned. BEYONCE IS A FAKE.
@broke2471 I didn't say anything about songs or songwriting credits. I was talking about her music videos, which are not similar to anything Ciara or Ne-Yo has done. I know that Beyonce has probably fudged a lot of songwriting credits by tweaking a word here and there. Stay on the subject.
@jdot104 - I know what the fuck you said. She's still copied off of Fosses videos and tried to pull them off as her own, as if nobody would know what she did, and then tried to cover herself after getting caught by saying she was inspired. If that's the case, when a person gets inspired, they don't tweak shit, they take an idea and change it. Tweak my ass, that bitch should be sued for COPYING every damn body.
wtf! beyonce stans! the excuse she was just "inspired" or "influenced" is getting old! its just another excuse for her to excape blame for copying! ugrade ya selfs!
I think it's cool for Beyonce to do a take on it, but all I expect for to do is give credit, and she hasn't done that in the past. She's doing that now.
i think that is one of the worst bad jokes in the world!!!! someone plz say to her that she's like a pain in the ass, and now she is like dead to me thnks!!!
Lol dont ever dare compare Mj to Beyonce she looks like a amature who has no style compared to MJ.Yes MJ was inspired. He took the inspiration and mad it its own.He created dancemoves, way or sings.MJ is the master of orginality and creavitity.Thats why they would never be an Artist like Michael Jackson Beyonce is replaceable.MJ Irreaplaceable He mad history with his Music 8 times in guines world book record.Beyonce needs to get a grip she is a great singer but not a great artist big difference.
You can be sure that the majority (not all) of the young people who love this video dont even know about Fosse. Maybe this will inspire them to learn about one of the greatest dancer/choreographers of our time.
Go ahead and say which one is your favorite, but they are both good. Of course, the original is always going to be the standard, but I love her take on it as well. There is room for everyone.
Pt. 1: I don't understand why people always feel the need to cast insults. When I first saw Beyonce's video I loved it, but knew it was eerily familiar.
Now being the age I am, I soon realized it was a take off of the Rich Mans Frug. I thought it was wonderful that a young artist like her not only know of Fosses work, but loved it enough to pay tribute to it.
"Wow is anything that Beyonce does really original?" Was everything that Michael Jackson did original? He has stated many times that he was inspired by older artists/dancers. Or the people today who copies Michael Jackson? People inspire other people.
There is a BIG difference with being inspired and being unoriginal.Of course every artist in the world has been inspired to use a couple ideas from ppl they see.But for B it seems like EVERYTHING she does was originally someone elses idea.Crazy in love,Naughty girl,Closer i get to you, single ladies and i could go on for ever.Performances, outfits.Could she just for ONCE NOT be "inspired" and come up with something herself.I love B but this inspiration is getting old.
Thank you, I like Bey too, but comeon I have not seen "NOTHING" original from her. And this "she was inspired" excuse is getting old, and warn out. The so called icon needs to get it.
what! excuse me, I know its two months late, but I know you aint tryin to call Mjackson unoriginal, he might of admire james and got inspiration, but thats not unorinailty, I dont recall james brown doing the moon walk, or doing thriller. Dumb ass, how could you even say that!
What Beyonce does it copy, she doesnt have the creative imangination like michael, so dont ever compare them. as much as bey and her stans want it, she is not the mordern jackson. sorry.
@ChristinaLaRosa18 - WOW, WOW, WOW...And these BEYONCE JUNKIES really thinks that this woman has talent. She does, for copying other people. That's why no one and I mean noone can ever sell me on Beyonce having talent, because anytime a person has to copy the works of not one, but everyone that's not originality to me...And she should be ashamed for trying to capitalize off of others to become successful. When she falls from the top, she's going to fall very hard.
Every generation is going to have an interpretation...so long as I can see the original and appreciate the inspiration, I appreciate the contemporary interpretation...
...obviously Beyonce had an appreciation for what Bob Fosse did here...and as we all know..."immitation is the highest form of flattery."
She did it justice. Her dancing goes with the song. Plus she gave it soul and that old days rhythm. I don't know what the hell these people are doing in this clip.
There is gonna be haters all over the world against Beyonce, bcuz she did her thang in this video. I don't think she lives and breathes based on what anyone thinks of her.
B is my girl and I love her songs and videos. Haters need to stop bein jealous and focus on things that are more important than critizing Beyonce.
It's definitely an homage. First time I saw Beyonce's music video in the clubs I think was one of the few (but definitely not the only thanks to who made this) that immediately though "RICH MAN'S FRUG!"
I think everyone has missed the point of beyonce doing her own updated version of this scene. Someone doing exactly how the original person did something is also considered an homage as long as the real person is credited. Plus, it's not ripping off when you get permission to use it.
For all of you Knocking Beyonce: I feel it's great that she took the time out to do a remake of this choreography because I've never heard of Bob Fosse, or Rich Man's Frug...but seeing this kept me in awe and had me watch ALL the clips connecting to this one. Come on' not a lot of stars give honor and credit to the original which help stem off the talent they have today...
people today just steal steal steal stuff that came out before them and that probably sounded way much better. they can't even make their own dance moves and music cause orginality doesn't exist anymore or at least it seems so. then we have the fans of the all great beyonce who complain and wonder what the people are doing in this video when these are the moves that beyonce stole.
you idiots! You guys neeed to read more often. Before the video was even realised she did announce that she got the ideas and dance moves from the frugg... she never once stated that the dance moves in get me bodied was ooriginal so i dont see why the hating? You people need a life, thats what u all need and leave people alone. You aint seen Beyonce hating on you so why hating on the girl and talking things u know nothing about.
Ummmm, Mr. Fosse got his inspiration from the popular black dance of the day. Full circle. Both are wonderful to watch and listen to. In this case from both points of view imitation is the highest complement.
At the time Fosse-style dancing was revolutionary. It's unlike anything before its time and has inspired modern day dance as we know it. Also, this specific dance number (The Frug from Sweet Charity) is supposed to have a very specific look and feel to it. It's set in an EXTREMELY swanky, upscale club of that time period and the dance truly fits the era and style of music. Look for the original piece with the actualy music...
wat r u talkin about. she takes it from them. she copies them cuz thats wat she's best at. copying people. these ppl did it better. this is the original. beyonce's is bootleg
It is great to see that Fosse talent still influences people until today. However, Fosse's choreography contains deep meaning of sarcasm but Beyonce's mucis video.........no comment
im in sweet charity! not the movie but the play. if any of u live in indiana, its at footlite misicals on alibama street and starts on august 16 and goes on till the 26th. COME SEE IT!!!
Actually, Beyonce did give credit to the original. There was a special show on one of the big music channels (I can't remember which one) premiering all her new videos from her album and music video dvd "B Day." She explained how she loved "The Rich Mans Frug" scene from sweet charity and she thought it was a great theme for "Get Me Bodied." She wanted to make it kind of like an homage to Bob Fosse.
Has anyone actually found out if Beyonce gave credit to this original routine? I find it hard to believe that she would just take it as her own making...
And both are very good dance routines...either way you look at it.
lol i guess i probably da only one that finds their work amusing and as for her plagerising d original clip i ain't too sure probably she did but it doesn't bother lol i still love ha vid still :D
This clip is from a musical that came out in the 60s that was directed and choreographed by by bob fosse. The name of the musical is "sweet charity". Beyonce wasn't the only one that also borrowed this idea. alot of other stars and even movies like "bring it on" borrowed some of it's choreography. I think it's still playing on broadway right now.
This is very interesting! I wonder what year 'The Rich Man's Frug' came out? The dances here are serious, it looks like 70s era, I'm really impressed with the choreography because it looks British. I would have never been exposed to it, if Beyonce wouldn't have used it for 'Get Me bodied'. Thanks pinkpolorules for sharing!
she made it better didnt she. if she did use the beat but one more thing no one gives a rats ass so y the FUK ARE YOU TELLIN EVERY BOBY WE DONT FUKIN CARE U BITCH SO SHUT UP man shit
are you retarted? why are you snappin at evryone for pointing out the original. and she did not use the beat she copied the scene. beyonce even saId this was where she got it from she said this is one of her favorite musicals. grow up and stop tryna defend beyonce because the person who posted this video wasn't attacking beyonce. and if she did need to be defended if would be by someone who knew the facts and NOT SOME STUPID LITTLE GIRL. :)
hahaha Tell me about it!..But I give miss beyonce her props for trying to emulate one of the greatest choreogrpahy in American Perfroming Arts history..not bad from Beyonce but Bob Fosse is a genius
now why beyonce's hair couldnt be longer like hers...the dancing in bee's video wouldve looked better if she had more volume in her weave throw that i love sooo much!
I kept tellin my friend's Beyonce's video came from a musicla, It all looked too familiar for some reason. But I think these people in this are way better skilled, they're moving their bodies in ways that are NOT ordinary, and i LOVE IT!
wat kind of dancin iz dis im black and plus im from brooklyn we dont dance like dat we ghetto we dont look like stiff zombies on a stick the gurls poppin their booty but dont have a booty
beyonce love to rework bob fosse in her tour when she performd "yes" the set was from "big spender" thers nothing wrong with paying respect and she says that who you got it from so a+ beyonce now as for her weave No Comment
what the hell? I get th concept of the the performance it was shocking. really good. but you know beyonce is a great musician and this is a great idea for her video. it's cute.
wat the fuck is that thats not beyonce wat the hell is everybody talkin about this is shit wat the fuck maybe all of u r white cuz black people would have bene like wat the fuck man
I'm black and I love this... it's "Rich Man's Frug" from the movie Sweet Charity. I believe Beyonce has incorporated the look and movements from this scene into her video for "Get Me Bodied"...
No offense, but, though Beyonce Knowles is quite hot, I doubt that her version will surpass the creative geius of the original, for it is missing the key ingredient:Bob Fosse's conceptual genius.
OMG THIS IS SO TIGHT. THat white girl got skills lol. WHen I showed this to my mom she thought it was Beyonce the way she was swinging that pony tail. I cant wait for the beyonce version. I saw Emma's but it cant touch her. I love Uk music though
stfu, u guys r hater, in emma bunton's video she barely does ne dancing, this isnt even beyonces version. this is just the old version of "the frug" with one of beyonces song's over it. In beyonce's version that hasnt even been released yet, there is much more choreography than emma's and beyonce is an original, and if ur referring to upgrade u and like a boy, the videos were shot to soon for theyre to be any copying, stop hating, get a life.
omg, Im an idiot, hahaha, ok nevermind that last comment. I forgot the music was off on the video and my Itunes was on so I thought it was made together. lol, Im a total dork lol.
she didnt copy emma bunton, watch her video, and then watch beyonces real version, this isnt even it, this is the old version from the sixties with beyonces song over it.
wtf is this bitch's problem every time i turn around this mother fucker has stolen something or copied shit that don't belong to her and then slaps an inspiration label on it, like it wasn't her intentions to steal, no bitch you stole it, so stop with the bullshit innocent acts they're as horrible as your acting skills and fronting like nobody knows that you're a thief already

Yeah well there's a difference between an homage and just completely ripping someone off

Has anyone actually found out if Beyonce gave credit to this original routine? I find it hard to believe that she would just take it as her own making...
And both are very good dance routines...either way you look at it.

lol i guess i probably da only one that finds their work amusing and as for her plagerising d original clip i ain't too sure probably she did but it doesn't bother lol i still love ha vid still :D
lefteye161990 4 years ago
This clip is from a musical that came out in the 60s that was directed and choreographed by by bob fosse. The name of the musical is "sweet charity". Beyonce wasn't the only one that also borrowed this idea. alot of other stars and even movies like "bring it on" borrowed some of it's choreography. I think it's still playing on broadway right now.

i'm lovin it! 2:58 was in the bring it on movie.

I kept tellin my friend's Beyonce's video came from a musicla, It all looked too familiar for some reason. But I think these people in this are way better skilled, they're moving their bodies in ways that are NOT ordinary, and i LOVE IT!

I'm black and I love this... it's "Rich Man's Frug" from the movie Sweet Charity. I believe Beyonce has incorporated the look and movements from this scene into her video for "Get Me Bodied"...

WOW, thanks for posting, made me wanna watch the actual musical
Mohamed81 4 years ago
No offense, but, though Beyonce Knowles is quite hot, I doubt that her version will surpass the creative geius of the original, for it is missing the key ingredient:Bob Fosse's conceptual genius.

That was freakin' hott! i can only imagine how Beyonce's version will look!

a scene like this
hopefully she dose it justice

stfu, u guys r hater, in emma bunton's video she barely does ne dancing, this isnt even beyonces version. this is just the old version of "the frug" with one of beyonces song's over it. In beyonce's version that hasnt even been released yet, there is much more choreography than emma's and beyonce is an original, and if ur referring to upgrade u and like a boy, the videos were shot to soon for theyre to be any copying, stop hating, get a life.
mesokeso 5 years ago
omg, Im an idiot, hahaha, ok nevermind that last comment. I forgot the music was off on the video and my Itunes was on so I thought it was made together. lol, Im a total dork lol.
