Halifax is an expensive place to live, and this is being said by a Haligonian, who is proud to be a Haligonian. We have the highest HST in the country, but our minimum wage is slowly creeping up. I believe it is $9.60 as of October 1st. People are realizing that it is ridiculous to expect to be able to live on what we used to be making and they're slowly taking the necessary steps to make it a bit more manageable.
@7:11 that use to be my post office!! they moved it to Shaw's landing now tho.... I'm glad you enjoyed your stay:). You were some close to the water at Peggy's Cove, be careful next time!
I have a question for all you Canadians? How are the peoples attitudes in the state of Nova Scotia?? Are they freindly and layed back?? Or are they cold hearted??

kinda hard to live when minimum wage was 650 an hour there and 8 here... my rent when i was in halifax was 800 a month for a bachelor suite. even now, 6 years later, i rent a complete 4 bedroom house for my family and its only 750 a month, and i now make 29 dollars an hour.... you do the math
i have kept in touch with at least 8 guys that i used to hang out with in hali and they have all moved to BC and AB because of the cost of living
I've been here for 3 months in the summer of 1995 to see my cousins. I remember all that stuff around G7 unit, street artists and Bon Jovi cocert. It was the great time

I live near St. Margarets Bay.... between Halifax and Peggy's Cove.
Its a very nice spot.
Glad you were careful on the rocks at Peggy's Cove, a LOT of tourists have died there.

i'm from british columbia, but about 6 years ago i lived in halifax for a year...
back in bc now but i am willing to bet that there isnt ONE day that goes by and i dont think about my year there.
of all the travelling i have done in my life... that was the most amazing place i have ever been
unfortunately its easier and cheaper to live in bc
and i can actually get a real job and not make 650 an hour lol
