A dune buggy?! WOW..some people have no idea about form and function. Please show me a dune buggy that even slightly resembles this car from any angle. Ferrari is not about boxy sharp angular cars, that's Lamborghini. Ferrari cars are much more refined in design, function and form. Built for track duty but very streetable. Lambo's are simply fast street cars that don't translate well over to race cars. Ferrari = Race car for the street.
im finding it hard to like the 458 the front i dnt know about but the backs sexy..its abit disapointing to see no detail on the side just smooth lines like ordinary cars..i guess thats a shame...on some angles it looks like a 1960's dune buggy....dnt know were ferrari goin wih this car...
@Exoticxz The absence of flat planes and angles like Lambo et al, is what makes this design such an achievement, because it is very, very difficult to execute. It's a very advanced design, similar to the Enzo. You may need to see it in person for it all to come together. It's a 3-D design and images always fall short.
I think its ugly, dont get me wrong Im sure the drive is just a orgasm waiting to happen. However I dont like the styling in the front. Don't hate me cause of this. Its still a pure and magnificent sports car in every way.
I think that this car is too much of an improvement over existing ferraris, and even better than a Ferrari ENZO, so it makes all other ferraris obsolete and nobody would buy another model of Ferrari. With regard to motor oil, the worlds best oil is "megalube", Shell is a marketing company.
it is a huge performance improvement how ever it won't take sales off the 599 GTB, California or 612 Scaglietti simply because: the 612 is a GT car, the 599 is an all purpose car pretty much, the California is a GT car for those who can't afford the 612 and the 458 is a thoroughbred supercar. i guess Ferrari believe that the cars it replaces, the owners must have money to afford them, there for resale value is no real issue
@Guid0o7 I suppose you are right, if I think of BMW, people will buy the GT say 760i for luxury cruising and the m3 for sports, however, things are also changing in this industry, and I am not sure if people still do this. At least in my case, if I test drove a 612 Ferrari and then a 458, I would feel the huge difference in performance and probably think that I could save money and buy the 458 and use the extra money saved on track day costs, etc.
i guess it comes down to personal taste and decisions. i see the 612 as a more usable every day car, if Ferraris can ever be such things... and i think it would make you feel more special as its a classic Ferrari in the sense it has a big v12 under a long bonnet, a short tail and 4 round Ferrari tail lights. mix in some contraversial styling and you have a classic in the same way the Daytona was a classic... but thats how i see the 612.

dude
i agree totally with u
at the side bottom rear there should have been at least a small vent instead of leaving it plain
maybe the scuderia version might come up to our expectations
do u agree?
