My Parents owned the Penguin Hotel in chaddesden in the 60's and i was born there, i was saddened to see the way the area has turned out and the demolition of the Penguin! i have very many happy childhood memories of Chadd! but as they say "nothing is forever"

It looks like Chad used to be a cool place, though I wouldn't say it's a village. Shame it's got a bad rep now because of a few chavs.

Excellent video. I grew up in Chaddesden and I love to hear about the history. I bet not many people knew there was a Chaddesden Hall.
