  • Choosing between watermelon .......... and POOP! I was wondering what the other choice would be....... totally didn't think of poop, HAHA!

  • Reminds me of the dont worry be happy face, but its his building buddy.

  • You must destroy to create, No matter what you create, You will always destroy. :]

  • Wow this has been a life changing video. God bless.

  • All those individuals made the world rotten the way it is, because it drains the power, that’s hold by the stealth fascists, who own the money printer. People are designed to survive when they cooperate in deep trust for each other. Otherwise they are enslaved by a government, or the agents of the mafia who has the power.

  • hahaha great video

One may be tempted to say that you're just this happy and joyful and loving because you've just had a baby. But i've been watching your videos for years now and you've always naturally been awesome like this :D

  • Love this Jaimie. Check out my snake robot at snakinator.pivut.com. I want to be part of this Adventure!

  • Now THIS club makes sense to me ... it doesnt require anything mesh socially. Great idea Jaimie and congrats to Dashaina and you on the lil one ! XD

  • I want to build like you but I don't know anything about building. My dream is to have a dome house now...yet I dont know how I should go about it

  • you are all that is good in youtube

  • The 6 people who disliked this haven't seen the amazing things he's done.

  • The world needed to hear this video!

  • "it would be like choosing between watermelon, YUM! ....and POOP! no one would choose the poop!" - best quote ever.

  • I feel a little like I am joining a cult but sign me up. I would follow this guy to whatever ends.

  • fields of bananas..... this is why i love watching your channel. jk, nice vid.

  • We positively need more positivity to offset, counterbalance, overwhelm and overcome the negativity in which so many people live. Aside from caring for one another, we were born to create and make and to enjoy doing so, and to enjoy the creations and the makings of others.

    Keep up the good work!

  • WOW... body, mind, spirit... thats the trifecta of life which I described in my little life handbook which i carry around with me. you got me sold just on that stuff. keep doing the great work!

  • I like your ideas. I don't want to be negative, but your tone of speaking (in this video) is a little annoying. Although I understand it if this is an impromptu talk

  • Now Jamie destruction is a form of creation :p

  • Hey Jamie, what would you recommend as a cheap heat resistant material? Something that will resist a little bit of smoke and not get worn out.

    Thanks man!

  • say "NO" to poop!!!

  • in a way..... babies= building!!!

  • i definitely would NOT choose the poop.

  • p.s. I love stuff too. I love stuff all over the place! <3!

  • You got those T shirts in kid's sizes? :)

  • I wish I new you in real life. Your so awesome. :) your views on life are very similar to mine and the one thing I love more than anything else is to make things.

  • Very nice, I look at life pretty much in the same way.

    God bless

  • Jaimie Mantzel for president!

  • oh my friggin god you are such a sellout, you put adverts on your website!!! Graaaahh I'm feeling an irrational impulse of anger for no rational reason! Well, anyways, do you edit your own webpages? If so, do you do it from the source HTML code or do you use an editor like Dreamweaver? Either way, you should come and be my Web Programming teacher. You'd be (for all intensive purposes) a bajillion times better than my current teacher. Even if you don't edit your website.

  • Sounds awesome. Count me in.

  • poop! lol

  • Good man Jamie. I'm onboard.

  • i couldn't help posting to my facebook...actually...wrote that you are kind of having a love attack or something...nice...lovable video...exploding with good vibes...wish i could be in you club...,i'd fit in...i'm sure.

  • I don't know...all this striving for great things can get a little servile to me...just be happy..... relaxing is a better approach to achievement...but the video and the whole spiel is actually pretty lovable...as usual...

  • I don't know...all this striving seems a little sevile to me...just be happy...

artistic perfection is wonderful thougm in architecture, music, anything...but relaxing is a better approach to achievement...

  • Hope you get some funds. I didn't watch the whole video but couldn't you have mentioned that if people wanted a shirt - they could just make one themselves?

  • @BoschThermador

Yeah I was thinking about that too. Donating to giant robots makes sense, but I don't fully understand this weird boy scout thing. I think I'll just try to be a good person in my own T-shirt. Hopefully JME will approve :P

  • You and me, we're on the same page :)

I'm definately in the adventure builders club. Today I fixed my Oscilloscope and built a new power supply then used them both to fix my Atari 2600 :D

  • I totally get what your saying, I feel like that every time I'm on my skis, I'm just in love with the world, but it's so hard to do with all this bad stuff in the world, you are such an inspiration.

Keep up the great work :P

  • Regarding that mobile institute; a friend of mine and I have (separately) been re imagining the education system. Basically, we're trying to imagine the ideal system which would produce the most knowledgeable and productive students. I don't know what he's doing (but he's also inventing his own government altogether), but I am attempting to assemble a collection of curriculum that would help people reach their greatest potentials but also allowing them to pick what they want to do.

  • @jamesx6x Kinda minimizing the amount of frivolous material people learn in school, and maximizing the amount of applicable and practical information.

  • Theses are a lot of the same principles I put into artwork, weather I'm building a Kiln hot enough to forge metal or a kick wheel or just working on my art in general compiling the knowledge from thousands of minds from the beginnings of cave scratchings to Hellenistic sculpture to paintings and charcoal drawings, putting all of myself into everything, and not worrying if I cant afford to go out and buy the real things I can always just make it up thats what being a creator is all about

    Andrew

  • I'm so flippin fired up I may have to tattoo it on my chest and I don't even like tattoos or have any!!! Thank you so much for the time and effort you invest in these videos. I'm building a greenhouse dome with an underground rocket mass heater and have had so many stupid, crazy setbacks the last few days and this just totally invigorated me. I should email you some pics when I'm done. I love you man!

  • Hi Jamie,

I've been watching your videos for over a year although this is my first comment, and I totally dig this concept of ABC.

PS. Congrats on the baby girl!

  • I'd LOVE to see the "Walking Fortress Science School" that you have a vision of!

  • Hey Jaimie. First, why not put up a video or a tutorial on the website explaining how to make an ABC shirt? That could be a 'first project' for the ABC. Second, thank you for the video. Very inspiring stuff, I'm going to go for a walk now and just think for awhile.

  • @ph0liage Yea, donating money should be the last thing you do, not the first. That is, if your a real AB.

  • Jamie i think you would like the documentary "Future by design". You should definitely see it!

  • Jaimie cool msg thats what world needs now a days

    keep it going dude!!!

  • I love the passion and honesty in this video dude, I totally get your drive to try to get others to see, and respect that. Keep it up dude. :)

    Love for life FTW

  • I can tell by the way you described being comfortable and such that you were a great runner. I noticed on your page something about running but I didn't look at it.

  • Uhm... A walking fortress science school? That's kind of far-fetched imo... It would be cool though. So would a space ship the size of the moon too. :-D

  • @madmodders You dont seem to have to much faith in JME. I believe he can do pretty much everything :) A school doesnt have to be as big as a public highschool, and there are several techniques of walking mechanics which are somewhat close to the wheel in terms of efficiency, take the famous Theo Jansen as an example (search "Simulation CGI of Theo Jansen 's Mechanism ")

  • @fillethefish Yes I am very much aware of Jansens wind driven contraptions. But c'mon, a fortress is quite a big thing. I know there are schools in the world not bigger than my bedroom. A bilding the size of the bananabuilding is doable, but it wouldn't be much of a fortress even though it was designed to look like one. Okay, it could be a sort of defense tower or such, but then there wouldn't be much room left for the school area. :-D

  • @madmodders just wait and see.... :P

  • Dude WTF? You're trying to preach the principals of life wearing a shirt you made with a symbol that looks like hackaday .com Sorry man what happened to working on the robot? Stop selling shirts. Ur not going to make any money that way.

  • No one would choose the poop. Words to live by, my friend.

  • @ppenna idk maybe if it was like A LOT of poop someone could very well use it to build a cob house or shed or bricks to make a furnace or kiln.

...or if you REALLY like messing with people you could light bags of the stuff on every porch of a entire neighborhood XD!!!!!!!

  • Yeah this is freaking cool, I need a job so I can buy a tshirt

  • great video!! Jamie!! WOW!!

  • Holy crap. You give me hope for humanity.

  • I thought Adventure building was for people that adventure them selfs building thing on there own or that doesn't exist yet or something like that. I didn' t think it was so spiritual, but...

I like it anyway. I love your life style

  • can I move to the mountian next to you,

  • jme i always wanted to make like a giant robot and when i am old enough i will u sir are a great inspiring person

  • You sir,

are the smartest person on earth

  • @M0taX Have you met everyone on earth?

  • In life there are two choices: watermelon or poop... choose the watermelon... the watermelon of life.

  • @Everfalling Have both, eat the watermelon, then poop it out.

  • Do you pay a fee to host the website on a sever? or are you running your own sever 24/7?

  • Be the change you want to see in the world - Mahatma Gandhi.

  • but Jamie! High explosives are so fun to play with!

  • You're awesome

  • I choose watermelon....

  • Dude you are really awesome

you remind me of a hippie i know who now lives somewhere in bali

he was a hippie a long time ago and started a colony in the woods that was very spiritual and believed in many of the same things as you.

  • Wow man you are just awesome. I agree with everything you said. I've sort of felt similar to this, but you were able to crystalize exactly how I feel.

Keep up the good work. I will be getting a shirt :)

  • You are so right jamie! YOU NEED TO FOLLOW YOU DREAMS IN LIFE!

  • Comment removed

  • Can I make my own shirt?? O! And how about creating a collaborative Adventure Builders Club YouTube channel?

  • @Agitpropist I was going to do the own thing but make mine slightly different and more specific to me.

  • Can I make my own shirt?

  • OYES!! Awesome JME

  • For what it's worth from an anonymous internet man, thank you for being a person. I can honestly say I'm inspired, and I look forward to buying a tshirt once I get money

  • Choosing between Watermellon and Poop.... hahaha

Great views man. You are truly an amazing person I have to say.

  • ooo Jaimie's first cult! I'm so in!! : D

I have a dream of hang gliding (i'm already a pilot in small planes but thats boring) and i'm going after it as a member of the club.

  • Wow dude, you're really inspiring. Watching your stuff makes me want to do certain things that I've had in the back of my mind for a long time; tackle some problems that need tackling. It's a lot more inspiring when it comes from someone who truly embodies their message.

  • You are awesome and a great inspiration!

  • I love you, no homo.

  • its very good to share your ambition Jaimie! I am proud to be your friend! P.S. Is your best friend doing well? hows the baby?

  • This is so uplifting and powerful. Cant wait to see what becomes of this. :)

  • I appreciate the concept, love the love that comes through w/ the new fatherhood experience, but have to be honest w/ you, if you have PTSD it is pretty impossible to have love in all 3 aspects. I understand what you are trying to convey, but for combat tested troops it is kinda hard to reconcile all the good w/ all the shit we lived through defending your right to live this way. Happy for you though, and hope there is hope for us damaged ones.

  • @mem7048 He mentions you have to see the world in an honest way as it really is.

Well thinking you're fighting to keep us free is the first illusion you need to get rid of.

  • when is the baby due?????

  • @GatheringSticks it was born. like a few weeks ago.

  • Nice ABC website, but it is loading bigger than the screen. I pressed (CTRL and -) to get it to fit.. Keep up the Great work JME.

  • @MyAussieDay Oh... i wasn't sure what kind of resolution most people use. :-P I kinda sized it a little smaller than my screen. I'll try a bit smaller. Thanks for the heads up. :-)

...although, right now its sleepy time.

  • @JMEMantzel check on Google I have the same issue with what size to use I still make my websites in 1024 x 768. With all the hi res monitors out there you can not keep everyone happy...lol Maybe state on your site (this site is best viewed in Bla Bla..

    Cool JME Sweet Dreams

  • @JMEMantzel keeping webpages 960px wide maximum is the standard at the moment.

  • @JMEMantzel yo! u can detect resolution and by PHP or jscripr or sth determine CSS to be applied. good luck

  • @JMEMantzel Its good on my screen, man. You can end up spending millions of years trying to accomodate all screen sizes. The lowest common denominator used to be 800x600 screens but i think 1024x768 is more than safe these days. screw it be a trail blazer, thats what scroll bars exist for! ;)

  • love the passion and attitude you have. great idea!

  • I wanted to say something cool, but then was like: WAIT... ABC OMG!

  • Sounds pretty cool!

  • @julian1000 Uhhh.... Not to point out the obvious, but.... the reddit stuff started at around 8pm tonight. Yo may notice that the sun is out in the video....

    Nice try, though. :-P

Oh wait... maybe I hopped on an airplane to china, found a piece of forest that looks just like mine, videoed this, on the way back in the airplane, made the website, editted the video, and uploaded. Ya. That could happen in like.... 4 and a half hours.

  • @JMEMantzel Oh... and then got in my time machine, went back a week, and made a video saying I was creating the Adventure Builders Club.

    :-P

Seriously, though. I'm doing what I think is the best thing regardless of who thinks its great or crap.

It is nice to feel appreciated, though.

  • @JMEMantzel Actually, I thought about that before making my comment but I figured that you lived somewhere off in California so perhaps the sun was still out due to it being 5 PM. I did realize after making the comment though that the website was more than 1 days worth of effort.

Hope you have much luck and happiness with your newest adventure.

  • @julian1000 Has reddit finally realised how cool Jamie is?

  • @julian1000 "not that it's a bad thing"? Then why did you say it in the first place you snarky unhappy Reddit dweeb. stfu

  • @BadMuffler You have so much hate. I hope you have much more joy in your life than in your words.

  • @julian1000 I don't hate anyone or anything. I'm just a practical realist. I love everything Jaimie has done to this point. Even the Alaskan cabin. I have visions, and I have joy. Let's say you build a walking house. Where would it walk? Every forest is a no-go. You're not allowed to use the roads. And I don't think the farmers would allow it across their fields. However, it IS possible to build an unfolding school as a big rig. A walking big rig even. That would be cool AND practical.
