  • Bull tug of war is nott bad! U dont know wat ur doing. Who agrees?

  • @JuliaSlim326 looks like no one agrees

  • haha droping

  • Why is she always sitting on the floor..

  • Tug of war is ok as long as you train your dog to drop the tug toy on command so he never wins. If he wins, he knows he is stronger than you and can develop some dominance issues, so make sure you train them to drop it on command before they get big and stronger than you

  • My sister bailey, tried the same thing i did which was throw the ball. But she got him all ready up and he was actually wonting the ball for once. I think my sister actually helped me. Now my dog will go after the ball but theres 1 problem. Its a tennas ball, which he cant fit in his mouth I cant find another ball that he can fit in his mouth but i dont wont it to little because then it might go down his throut and choke him Im still workin on getting him to fetch. But i wont him to learn alot!.

  • I have been praticing with my chihuahua tobby He wont go after it and he wont bring it back Sometimes he wont even touch the toy he will just look at it and walk by Then i got the treats and i threw the toy but he just watched me and sat there waiting for his treat Well i think i now what the reason was see we have 3 other dogs besides my chihuahua and i threw the toy but he kept watching me i think he thought if he left to get the toy the other dogs would get the treat i just wont him to learn.

  • has this worked with anyone?

  • like if u notice the scratches on the door

  • I dont find this helpful because the dog never actually put the toy in his mouth and carried it,she just let him touch his nose on it and took it away...

  • but my pup doesnt chase toys.. (anymore)..

  • Truely amazing! i always let my little pup win because he gets so happy afterwords , but i jst trugged it out of his mouth once and it made him a bit upset , but then i did it a few times and now tranining him is just no bother to me , yeah its mean but what the heak it works :D now that he knows that im the dominate one i sure hope he will stop wreakign EVERY SINGLE ONE of my posesions

  • I bet she knows how to spell....your or you're?? you are or you're stupd

  • good job

  • thankyou for this video. you are a very good trainer for saying drop more than once and once in a while turn around because your pupps eating something...

  • Your shit, you dont add in a command straight away, you idiot! i know more than you.

  • example: if i was you i would throw the toy then the dog would come back run staight past me and jump on tht chair and chew it

  • wow.. How to Train Puppies : Teach Your Puppy to How to Fetch & Drop is the name of this video... the dog didnt even bring back the object yet she still said "good boy" nice training lady

  • hi i have an american bulldog and every time i try to give him his treat to sit he gos crazy how do i make him be calm?

  • @xuuuup don't use treats to train. You are conditioning your dog to only listen to you when you have something he wants. Use lots and lots of praise..verbal and patting.

  • How do you tach it to come back with the toy?

  • @MichaelJacksonLove14 Hmm... Take a tennis ball and cut a hole in it about 4th the tennis ball, then put some treat inside it that the puppy can reach, show the puppy/adult dog that there is treat inside and throw the ball, repeat the process a few times every day giving him/her less treat for every day. Finally, try throwing the ball without treat and the dog should get the ball for you. Reason: He/She wants the treat :), now don't give the treat yet, the dog will find that it lots of fun.

  • This is not really smart. You should do it like he is in the other side of room and then when he comes to you give treat

  • wat if he doesnt bring it back and jus sits and chews it

  • @wwestunner81 he will always bring it back if he is on a long lead and you make him

  • wow ur smart aint u, giving a dog cheese

  • I will show you how to teach your dog to fetch just click the blue word above this sentence that says "pyroalex17" .

  • can u can teach us how to do doggy style to please?

  • @kabomdinpapa WIN

  • My dog just chases the toy gets it (its a squeaky)so she just get mad and growls and barks at it every time it squeaks!!

  • i had a problem hearing the video because of the sound but it helped me on getting my puppy to go and fetch the object but how do bring the object back?

  • At the end... "right little puppy?" lolz I don't even think that barto will even respond to that statement. lol

  • You see i have a problem. :S

I throw the toy for my puppy a few feet away. then he goes chasing after it. when i say his name he drops the toy and comes to me? Lol

  • How do I teach my dog to bring the object back instead of just chasing it?

  • Sametserbest1992... how do ass holes like you know about training dogs.... you are all women eating beasts

  • what dog is that? jack russel???

  • @c4mafia that dog is a corgi .

  • this lady is stupid...

  • How do you teach your puppy from not scratching the door below the doorknob? ;)

  • sorry but this video doesn't explain how to play fetch at all

  • Rubbish, I play tug with my dog all the time, it's a great way to build up drive and use as a reward during training. If you have a good relationship with your dog it shouldn't be a problem - Keep it fun and keep control of their resources, put the toy away once the play session is over, and it can be a great way to bond with your dog.

  • can u teach a 2 year old lab to fetch?

  • is cheese a good treat to give ur dog ?

  • noo!!! there allergic to cheese just like they are with chocolate

  • my dogs not allergic to cheese. and dogs arent allergic to chocolate, it just wrecks there orgins.

  • Comment removed

  • not ALL dogs are allergic to cheese

  • yes of cours

  • only if ur dog likes it

  • the audio for this video was crap but the video was very helpul to me. thanks!

  • omg that looks exactly like shane dawsons dog miley!

  • yea

  • if using a clicker should when should you mark it for the command on the drop after you pull it away and he stays back and focus on my eyes?

  • She isn't handling it right lol

  • what the fuck is happening to the sound

  • can u teach a 16 year old sausage dog to fetch?

  • i think so, you just have to try harder because it isnt used to it.

  • watch from 2:04 she grabs him!

  • .....2:06 - looks like she sure wanted tht puppy !

  • thanks!

  • how much is a year 4 a dog??????

  • hey what breed is the dog on this video?

  • im pretty sure its some kind of Corgi

  • thanks man. i looked it up it is a corgi. :)

  • wtf its nt fetching the toy bak ....

  • don't trade the toy for a treat...this will not only make your puppy fat...but eventually they will not drop unless you have a treat.

  • that happened to my friends dog...she decided one day she would teach him how "high-five" and gave him a hand full of treats every time he did it and now he will sit in the middle of the room and high-five nothing when he is bored or hungry

  • can u train a 2 month old puppy

  • ya but the older they get the harder its best to train it when its younger

  • Kinda young. you can play at it and keep it fun.

  • and now she's crying at me to let her out of her exercise pen!@!!!

  • hahaha my dog, she was sleeping and she just woke up cuz of the squeak noise...

    so cutee

  • i have an irish terrier (smithy)

he is only 8 and 1/2 weeks old so i dont think i will start to teach him to fetch yet, i was told that terriers are not good at fetching is this true??

  • they can be good. its totally depending. they do tend to have a high prey drive (meaning they like to chase things that move basically). but they dont have retriever instincts like retrievers. you dont have to teach him now, but just play with him and toss him things and call him to you. you dont have to scold. then he could be a better fetcher when hes older :)

  • It didn't work on my dog. Sorry, a little let-down for me. Thanks for the little tips though.

  • some breeds just dont retrieve as easily. but you can try finding a toy that tastes good or one your pup really likes to carry around and get him excited to get it. then throw it and kinda run away from him. he might follow with the toy in his mouth. if he does tell him fetch, fecth and then stop once hes almost to you are praise him

  • Its a puppy. Have you ever trained one? You child

  • this is a video. what can you tell from a short video. she can't be yelling at the puppy or be too firm cause she is just doing a happy-go-lucky puppy video.

  • that's a great dog and nice tips!

  • I love your dog! And you are such an awesome dog trainer! And you give such great tips! 3 thumbs up for u!

  • i love your video i love that dog

  • Trainers actually use the tug of war game to train police dogs. It builds their confidence when the dog wins. It does NOT make them associate you with bad behavior.

  • she is just showing a normal house trained dog how to do all these tricks. police dogs have a duty to do. totally different uses. This small duties has actually helped with my puppy, which is a pure bred jack russel. :)

  • @brandon84xtina89 yeah, but police dogs aren't always house pets too though; this is for house dogs not specially trained ones for certain jobs... a police dog is there to help stop criminals who are or have done bad behaviour... they chase the criminal and tug on their sleeves and things to trip them or stop them, so that they normally associate tug of war with someone or something bad unless you are able to teach your dog the difference between playing and somewhat attacking.

  • she giving him string cheese that is really bad

  • its oversilly the dog is controlling you lady right now.

  • my puppy will be 1 year old in 5 days help i told my mom and dad that i whould train them befor they reach a year old aka adult age in dog years cus in there years 1 x 7 = 7 so in dog years they will be 7 i need something that is free i am only 11

  • i know you only have one day lefbut i think i can help first define "trian" like do you want it to sit and know where to go potty or like the whole bang-shilatta

  • no such thing as dog years were on the same planet and a year is a year!

  • I hope they didn't make all these videos in one day.

That equals a lot of cheese!

    baha! that puppy was cute!

  • search "KONAS CHIPS" if you love dogs

  • LOL dont play tug of war with your pup unless you always win

  • K my dog wont let it out of its mouth for a second. lol :)

  • that is the cutest puppy!! :D

  • thats an english corgi;]

  • What breed is your dog?

  • Hey, I'm 12 and I'm getting a 6 and a half week English Cocker Spainel in 1 and a half weeks (so it ill be 8 weeks) What would you erecomend I should train it for this breed of dog? I'm not planning to show or hunt with it btw.

  • Just train it like a normal dog. Make sure it knows how to come when you call it, sit when you tell it to (and maybe lay), wait when you tell it not to touch food (ie dinner) until you want it to, drop things you dont want in its mouth and walk nicely on a lead. I advise not letting them off the lead outside until your sure your puppy is super super obedient.

  • lady i think your dog needs more training itself.

  • Thanks for the tip. I appreciate the tip re not leeting puppies win. Many websites on dogs and dog training say the same thing. My K-9 instructor also told me that it is ok for me to let my chihuahua win sometimes because it's cute but I must NEVER play tug-of-war with my Alsatian and Caucasian shepherd. Thank you for comnfirming this.

  • no, it's NOT cute! do you think just because its a small dog it cannot hurt you?

i just got done speakin with a women who was considerin giving her chihuahua away because it bit her family member IN THE FACE.

PLEASE reconsider what your sayin 4 your own safety.

  • how do you train your dog to bring the toy back?

  • Never let your puppies win?

That's ridiculous. I find it hilarious watching my Westy rip the little squirrel out of my hands and take a little victory jaunt around the table before she returns for another round.

  • hilarious until she begins 2 get possessive over the toy. she'll think its HERS and also you are a lower pack member and shes superior which will eventually lead 2 a bite wen you try 2 take the toy away

  • Heh. I am not too worried about her seeing me as a lower pack member.

Even dogs seem to have the sense not to bite the hand that feeds them.

She knows that if she begins to get too "possessive" that I simply give up, and then she doesn't get to play anymore.

  • yeah, thats fine. i'm not really against the whole tug of war game unless you have strict rules like that one.

and actually, dogs will bite the hand that feeds them. i've seen it on many occassions with different dogs.

the owner will set the food down and then reach into the bowl and they get bitten

  • She will feel dominate over you, that's something you DON'T want.

  • She's a dog. A foot tall, a foot and a half long.

Tell me, what is the worst that could possibly happen if she feels like the Queen?

  • Just make sure she doesn't become dominate is all I'm really saying.

  • im having problems with my 7 week old border collies when i try to train them all they do is climb up my shirt and lick my ears or bite them, nose, face, etc. how do i train 2 border collies bother/sister with these videos can anyone help me? oh yea even if there is another dog to keep them company they still whine for minutes, up to an hour when i just have to go somewhere i need to be and i cant take them with me because they just climb up me can some one please help me train my border collies

  • they are prolly 2 yung 4 trainin. they have to short of an attention span. wait until they are older. border collies learn quick and you'll be glad u did.

and try ignoring them wen they whine. it sounds mean, but if you give them attention, it will just make them continue the behavior because they are gettin rewarded.

and yes, even saying,"no!" is considered attention. dont say anything, just IGNORE them.

  • Why does my dog put the ball in his poop when i try to throw the ball...?

  • LMFAOOO

  • ROLF wtf!!!! hauhauhauhauhauahuahuhauha how old are you?

  • 10 yrs old

  • so much fucking treats it a dog use a pinch collar it works

  • not 4 all dogs. prong collars are great in moderation. also, positive reinforcement will give u a better relationship with your dog.

  • i trained my dog weave poles now he doges it

  • Are dogs receptive to a person speaking sweetly? Does you saying "Good boy" in that kind voice calm/soothe him down?

  • yup. you can also use "good boy" as a marker.

  • mines a girl

  • good girl then dah

  • its really hard for me to train my chihuahua mix puppie cause shes veryy playful and i try to to feed her food but shes really picckie

  • um...were u askin me something?

  • i did have one but i forgot last night but now i remember my dog is a chihuahua mix with a shaggy haired dog...how long does it take to train this 2 months pup

  • depends on the individual dog but pups generally learn VERY quickly. i bet you could teach him to sit before the end of the day. only problem is they have a short attention span so short training sessions are best.

  • I have the same problem my chihuahua mix is about 3 months and is very playful

  • How many times the person say 'little puppy?'

  • my dog looks at me then looks at the toy like if he was why do you go get it lol

  • when i throw the ball my german sheperd plays keep away

  • i got a GSD, same deal

  • my lil corgi is so weird! Whenever I throw the ball, she runs around it and comes back. LOL!
