Ok Kudos for buying/selling gold, however, I doubt you are right about these items becoming popular again. #1 In the early 80s, gold was $400 an ounce when people were giving them as the "ultimate gift". #2 people dont flaunt gold like this anymore for fear of getting robbed in a bad economy. #3 Styles of jewelery have changed since these were popular so they will likely never come back in popularity (IE why everyone is selling them to you). Just my thoughts.
Wow, it looks like you've got a bunch of crap gold, judging by the color & characteristics of this pile it's probably 11K or lower quality. Who's gonna buy or trade that, BAAAAH Humbug!!
Good idea to hang on for a repeat trend. Human nature doesn't change, and you could realize a handsome profit on those jewelry pieces down the road. =^[.]^=
Awesome videos man! I just became a big fan. Question. For urban mining, do you need some sort of city permit? I live in Los Angeles. I have heard people say I need a secondhand dealer license. Is this true, if it's just going to be refined? THANKS!
I think there is something called a secondhand dealer permit. It indicates that unless buying a second hand item is for 'personal' possession only, you need one of these permits. Does that apply if you are reselling the gold to a refiner for cash? I assume you don't need one if you are just keeping the gold. Any thoughts would be appreciated!
You can find more information on the second hand dealer law's by looking under the California Business and Professions codes sections 21625-21647 this information is down loadable off the CA. Government website or other sources. You can search it pretty easily with the codes but without the information it is rather hard to find or get information on. Read it carefully to understand how and if it applies to your situation. Good luck!
How do you handle when people bring you jewelry with real diamonds...I find it hard to put a value on them...i usually offer to take out the stone and give it back. Wondering what you do? thanks.
There is only perceived value in diamonds. No matter how good of a price you give, they will feel ripped off. I always offer to return the stones also.
Right on Mike... I remember items like that from back in the mid 70's, along with the 18k/22k with jade; rings and necklaces. I'm glad the sellers found an honest broker, and I'm sure the next owner will appreciate them. Peace...
when traveling overseas, you don't have to declare bullion necklaces as a monetary instrument. Most countries let you carry up to 10,000 Dollars in cash or equivalents before filling out a bunch of paperwork to alert the authorities. It's something to think about. Besides, the necklaces are nice and will always bring a value added premium by the time you sell them.
Another thing that people do not realise. They think if they travel as a family or group they can bring up to 10k each person. The total is 10k for everyone, family and friends traveling together. So if you have to be sneaky do not sit next to each other on a plane or speak with each other. Same last names could give you away if its a name that is not a common one.
Yes indeed !!! The 10k limit has not changed in many many years while inflation is reducing the dollar's purchasing power (value). If you ever plan on leaving the country for greener pastures you'd have to jump thru many hoops to take your legally aquired bullion with you, assuming you'd take more than 10k.
kids do these videos, but for pokemon cards, you may aswell just be videoing money

What are the names of the refineries you sell the gold and silver scrap?
JOConnor100 2 years ago
I sell to atlas, metalor, daniel and sons and other gold brokers and traders. There isn't a specific one that I use.

need avdice can you see gold going down to below 1000 before xmas as i wanna buy some but wanna know should i wait or buy now
johncoolj 2 years ago
Don't wait on buying gold. I see the true inflation adjusted price for gold should be over 2800/oz. These little 100 dollar dips are nothing.
mustangjake2073 2 years ago 2
when do you tink it will reach 2800 ?before 21st dec 2012
