The 4th leveling ground is a one-time-only place to level up. The Junon alarm method, if I recall from others' posts, is available at about the same time. You might prefer to level up a bit in the 4th leveling ground until you are confident enough to be able to handle the enemies in the Junon area via the alarm.
Where do you suggest to lvl right after the Mythril mines? i want to try that place on your vid, but i've heard the junon alarm thingy is better, what's your opinion?
I've never tried the Junon alarm method as I was completely unaware of it when I made these videos. I haven't touched FF7 since I made these FF7 videos either.... Disgaea has taken over pretty much everything I play. After all, 2300 hours racked up in under 2 years says a lot.
@ulillillia thanks man this level area is amazing spent 6 hrs doing it and got lvl 47 characters but right when i left the place i forgot to save and fought the boss when u try to get vincent and got killed and now im back at lvl 26 at red xlll house so ima just move on to final fantasy 9 for now and follow your leveling guides then do 8 and got back and continue off on 7.
Two words, one big hint: save frequently. Save at least every half hour. Before venturing far into unknown territory after extensive powerleveling, always save at the previous savepoint first. Of course, there's always the very lame 6th leveling ground which isn't all that far away from here anyway. Lame: requires little or no interaction (little in this case).
The Gi Cave. You can only enter it during a certain point in the game's story. Before and after it, it's inaccessible. If after this, look into my sixth leveling ground - it's the best place to level up (it's lame - requires almost no interaction (just to get through the battle completion menus, hold the up button down, and occasionally heal and save). Before this, the Junon alarm method is the best though I have to actually try that method out.
@ulillillia I looked into your sixth leveling area,But what is the minimum level you would suggest for going there? (My warriors are quite weak for being at the end of the game)
It should be quite doable at level 20 at the very low end. I actually wouldn't know for sure because I've never been there on a level lower than about 40 (the Gi Cave is excellent, but if you've already passed up that opportunity, and don't feel that you're ready, look into my 5th leveling ground video for a boost - this area uses much weaker enemies and they're worth almost as much exp. There's also sea worm found along the beaches in the sixth leveling grounds, a very easy enemy worth 1300.
@ulillillia Okay thanks,My warriors are as follows in level Cloud:60,Tifa:58,Cid:59,If you did the 6th area at level 40 than I should be perfectly fine in the sixth leveling ground,Right?
I could probably use my sixth leveling ground at level 20, maybe even as low as 10. Sea worm is the best enemy for getting started - just roam the beaches. You'll get frequent turbo ethers so that MP is not a problem. Sea worm only does 130 damage to each character and frequently does nothing for a while which makes it so easy. For 1300 exp and 200 AP, what else could you want? Throw on sadness status instead of hyper and you're really in for it being easy. Only blindness is a problem.
@ulillillia Okay thanks,Your a big help. Sorry for asking the same questions over though,I can be a little slow at times lol but anyways thanks a lot man I really needed this
I think you should try out the Junon alarm method. There are 3 enemy groups. 1 Which is a single monster that gives 900xp, the 2nd is two of these robot-like monsters that tend to poison. They give 700xp a piece, and finally a 3rd group with 3 of those robot-like monsters, resulting in 2100xp and 210ap. And I'm positive you can go there right after you hit Costa Del Sol.
It's highly recommend. I'd like to see you make a video of that area someday.
And it's very useful because there is an Inn just two short screens away, where you can restore your HP/MP for 30gil, and save. The monsters also give a generous amount of gil.
What I meant to say was, if you did another playthrough, you'll find that the Junon levelling area would work very well early on, as they are monsters you're not supposed to fight until disc two.
I'm playing through FF7 at the moment and I'm training there as I type. Storywise I just got the Buggy.
why didnt kept the force stealer sword for grinding at this place didnt you want to mastered junk materia first? cuz your butterfly sword doesnt have a double growth on it
You're better off with 7 single-growth slots than 3 double growth ones. 3 double growth ones is essentially 6 "credits". It's why Cid's Javelin is the best - it's 10 "credits", the most possible. 3 triple is 9 "credits". For each "all" in each "credit", you get 40 gil for every AP. Thus, gil comes at an extremely fast pace.
what u dont remeber its in the begining of the game wer ur introduced to the turks u cant go back their no more maybe in the middle of the game u can go back
Wrong. It's when you come across Cosmo Canyon, shortly after getting the buggy to cross the river. You meet this old guy which provides you access to this area. It's the Cave of the Gi, if I recall the name.
@ulillillia lol wow your at the lvl now that I was when I beat the game. But thank you for making these videos you taught me so much about final fantasy 7 that I never would have found out
The Junon alarm method is supposedly faster or as fast as this, accessible well before this leveling ground. I've only learned of its existence with comments, but I've never tried it. I've always used the area covered in my "sixth leveling grounds" video for leveling up. If I rushed the game to this point then went for 99, I could have 99 in probably 40 hours, maybe even less. I can't compare this to the Junon alarm method though.
How about level 99 while still on disk 1? I accomplish that in my sixth leveling ground video (the music and lack of Meteor hint to it still being disk 1, along with the dot marking the Tiny Bronco).
The enemies here are worth 250, 260, or 270 EXP each if I recall. The snakes are supposedly 250. Unless you're getting one enemy in a battle or your version is different, you should also be getting around 1000 EXP per battle.
hmmm i can do around 1-1.5k damage at lvl 30 wana know how? use CURE on DEAD MONSTERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! alota damage think im lying...try it..it wont hurt..its jus a game =)
Remember, you're better off defeating enemies using 6 MP as opposed to 20. I know about using restorative magic and potions on undead enemies to deal damage to them.
yea but it doesent work on most monsters later in the game if u cure them then u will cure them for good and they will kick the ever livin shit outa you like joe peci once said.
I meant to say that you're better off defeating an enemy using 6 MP than 20 MP if that weaker attack, can defeat the enemy in the first cast. In my case, I'm using ice to defeat all the snakes, in which they're defeated in one hit. Using ice2 is pointless and a waste of MP.
thanx for the reply, I just went to Junon and I´m leveling in the alarm zone it gives around 2000 of EXP, your sixth leveling area is just passing the town where Cloud was born right?
That's the trouble spot with this area - defeat the boss and you can never get back. Still, my sixth leveling ground is quite effective, if you're after the levels. To heal (recover MP especially), however, just leave the area. You can keep returning as long as you don't defeat the boss.
For a little bit, yes, this is a dependable area for leveling. You don't have to get to the extremes I do, but you could gain maybe 5 to 10 levels here; you don't have to do this to level 50 if you don't want to.
Fair enough, there's no doubt this is a great spot for building both limit breaks (racking up kills with aqua lung or all-ice) and levels.
I'm a bit surprised you don't point out the pipe-slide area of Nibel Mountain, though, man! The one with the Materia Keeper in it. You can rack up a ton of kills with the newly found Trine ES, there's a save point, as well as enemies who have ethers to steal.
Either way, your FFVIII videos are very helpful. Thanks!
And I can tell you haven't seen my "fifth leveling grounds" video either, which does involve the very same pipe slide area you're looking it. I have 6 leveling grounds in this game (7 actually, 1, setting of Junon's alarms, is untested).
I tested the Junon grounds a day or two ago, and wasn't all that impressed. Sure it's found earlier than Cosmo Canyon, but that's about all it has going for it. Only two enemy types, one (Death Machine) is useless. Both do heaps of damage, ie. by using poison. And nothing worthwhile to steal.
I would agree, though that in my sixth leveling grounds video is the best of all. Once you reach Costa Del Sol, you'll be able to return to Junon and trigger an alarm to draw out very powerful enemies. It's likely the earliest you'll be able to get to level 99 with in terms of the story. I haven't tried it though....
I find the basketball game and especially chocobo racing the most dependable. The basketball game requires precise timing, but once you get the hang of it, you could be getting considerable amounts of GP.
I've heard that, as soon as you get access to Junon (or the next stage of Costa Del Sol and return), you could get to level 99 within probably 50 hours.
thats if your determined.. Im right before you go to gold saucer.. what level you think I should hit before going to gold? Right now im 28 and training outside the city
dude u have good knowledge of this stuff this is my first time ever playiung ff7 im playing it on ma psp since i dont have ps1 i beat the first disk but dont know where to get second one so i mdoing what u r doing in ur vids and i was wondering how is it u can cast ice on all the monsters ur fighting i can only use it on one monsteer at a time...
I don't think FF7 is supposed to run on the PSP. To cast a spell on more than one target (there are exceptions like ultima and shield), you need an "all" materia paired with it. You should've seen this during the first 10 or so minutes of the game, after the event for the first reactor.
When materia gains another level, the last one, you get a brand new one of the same one. Thus, if "restore was born" appears, this means that a restore materia reached level 5 and you have a new restore in the materia list. Watch my "fastest gil" video and you can see this in action, except that I master a huge flock of alls at once causing a whole bunch more and I replace the mastered ones with the new ones. Master those, and replace these with the new ones and so on.
sorry to ask this, but where are you? I know your next video is somewhere I've been (after Mt. Nibel) but this place doesn't look familiar
I'm playing the game for the fifth time, but i used to have it for PC but it kept glitching after the Temple of the Ancients and wouldn't go farther after i beat the Red Dragon. I just want to keep your places in mind this time around :-) but i don't know where this is
This is the Gi Cave, in Cosmo Canyon. Once you finish the event here, it's impossible to get back as far as I know. Leveling grounds 6 is the best, though others have been stating about Junon having something like this, making it the fourth leveling grounds (and this one the fifth).
Actually there is a better place for level up. After you get the buggy from gold saucer, drive it back to Cost del Sol. Take the cargo ship back to junon.
When you reach junon, go to the t-junction area which leads you to underwater reactor, you will see shinra soldiers marching there. Press the red alarm box on the wall. The alarm will be activated and the enemies you encounter will give you 900~2100 exp and lot of gil as well!
I never knew you could pull that alarm. If I do indeed average around 1400 EXP per battle, then I may be able to reach level 99 much earlier than I ever thought possible (at least, in reasonable time. I'm now wondering if I can do it in just 40 hours instead of about 55 to 60.
? What do you mean by "2 growth"? Double growth? In that case, AP really does double. An all materia with 1200 AP on it (level 1) on double growth would level up twice in a row (level 3 with 6000 AP) after doing a battle with "mover" in the Northern Cave, of which normally give about 2400 AP in that battle (800 a piece and there's always 3).
Master it. Master an "all" and replace it with the new one that appears. Master that and replace it again. Keep doing that and the list fills up fast. It's the fastest way to get gil - millions come very fast (haven't you seen my "ultra fast chocobo" video - 1.4 billion gil is something that'll take many hours to get).
I think the description had "power up when *near death*". I never used it as a result, but when you've got a maxed strength, even the weakest weapons are no different from the strongest for damage done.
I have a question. I have only ever played FFX, FFX-2, and FFXII. I have enjoyed all of the games so far but I want to know if it would be worth getting some of the older ones. They look to be good and most peoples favs are always the classics. Also if I get them can I save them directly to my PS3 HD, or do I need to get a PS1 memory Card and play on my PS2? Thanks in advance.
I don't know anything about any of the newest consoles - the Gamecube and PS2 is as far as I've gotten. They're far too pricy right now with practically no games of interest. I don't know anything about FF10 or its sequel, though I have played (and completed) FF12 - I have four videos here on YT of my typical actions.
you can create a playstation 1 memory card on the ps3 by going to your data storage area and create a memory card inside your ps3 and be able to play and save playstation 1 game data.
I didn't do any specific training until the end of the game, where you fought those pot things that you have to give an elixir to in order to defeat them. That combined with the W-item materia exploit helped me get to level 99 in a couple of hours (only 3 characters). The game didn't really require training, and I really only did it at the end because I could
I'm very familiar with the W-item exploit - it's partly how I got to 1.3 billion gil and those pot things, worth 1000 AP each if I recall are called "magic pot". I prefer having the greatest amount of power as early as possible. As of the time I posted this (May 20, 2008), I already have over a quarter of a billion gil with a maxed strength and vitality and in terms of the story, I just finished the "Temple of the Ancients" part, disk 1. See my "maxed vitality" video for more details.
I own 1, 2, 5, 6 (I have videos of 6), 7, 9, and 12. Since 11 is an online game, that will unlikely be added to my collection. I've reached the fifth leveling grounds yesterday and this one will take a while (20 to 25 hours' play time (3 days)) before I get to the point where I record a video - I'd like it the moment I reach level 99.... I've already got over 10 million in gil and I've only spent another hour at it. The maxing of the strength stat is very likely to follow.
Sorry it took a long time to reply - I suddenly was completely unable to reply to anything.... I currently don't have FF9 with me and I'm stuck in the storyline (just got Quina in some swamp or marsh). Despite that, I'm on a level around 34 or so and I even got the most "expensive" item from that chocobo minigame. The clock is more than maxed.... It's music is the best of all FF games so far but its strategy guide is worthless forcing me to do everything on my own (puzzles are the worst!).
I don't recall exactly, but I do recall spending 3 10-hour days at it from around level 40 or so. I generally stop when it takes 20 to 30 battles just to level up one character. Once I get to the area where 6 enemies yield 1620 EXP (and 5 with 1300-something), my 5th leveling grounds, I can assure you that I'll get a video of this. I should be close to it though - it's near Rocket Town (over 99% certain of the location). I think it may be about 60 hours, still on disk 1.
FF12 was finished about 8 months ago, left untouched since. When I first played RPG's (this was the first "real" one), I kept on leveling up and wondering just how many levels there were. Levels meant more power. 68 comes along and I gain the EXP for 69 and I see that there's still another. It's this that kept me going and got me into extreme leveling like I've done here. I've been doing it ever since (2002). My 2D RPG game has no limits (even above 255), even the stats have no limits.
You should play some Nippon Ichi games such as Disgaea, Phantom Brave, Makai Kingdom, or La Pucelle Tactics. These games have lv9999 level caps and still have plenty of room for further character improvements (such as leveling your weapons by various means).
... and how long does it take to get to 9999? If it takes only 60 to 100 hours, then its just the same as FF. If it takes more than 300 hours, then it would be more worthy. What about the stats and damage amounts? Do those have limits beyond what other games would have? I'm completely unfamiliar with all of these you've listed....
btw i forgot to mention, my characters are around lvl 30. is it still good for Junon or should i go to your 4th lvling place? Thanks.

BrandonInfinite 3 years ago
I've heard that, as soon as you get access to Junon (or the next stage of Costa Del Sol and return), you could get to level 99 within probably 50 hours.
ulillillia 3 years ago
thats if your determined.. Im right before you go to gold saucer.. what level you think I should hit before going to gold? Right now im 28 and training outside the city

dude u have good knowledge of this stuff this is my first time ever playiung ff7 im playing it on ma psp since i dont have ps1 i beat the first disk but dont know where to get second one so i mdoing what u r doing in ur vids and i was wondering how is it u can cast ice on all the monsters ur fighting i can only use it on one monsteer at a time...
cloudownage666 3 years ago
I don't think FF7 is supposed to run on the PSP. To cast a spell on more than one target (there are exceptions like ultima and shield), you need an "all" materia paired with it. You should've seen this during the first 10 or so minutes of the game, after the event for the first reactor.
ulillillia 3 years ago
o ok ty and it can be run on the psp but u gotta convert it to the right pragraming thing.
cloudownage666 3 years ago
It's probably an emulator that you're using, of which is completely foreign territory to me. I never use them due to legal concerns.
ulillillia 3 years ago
its not illegal if u own the game i use the psp cause for some reason my ps2 wont load the game

how come it says stuff like 'restore is born' does that mean uv created it or something?
p.s nice video
Narutouploader4 3 years ago
When materia gains another level, the last one, you get a brand new one of the same one. Thus, if "restore was born" appears, this means that a restore materia reached level 5 and you have a new restore in the materia list. Watch my "fastest gil" video and you can see this in action, except that I master a huge flock of alls at once causing a whole bunch more and I replace the mastered ones with the new ones. Master those, and replace these with the new ones and so on.
ulillillia 3 years ago
sorry to ask this, but where are you? I know your next video is somewhere I've been (after Mt. Nibel) but this place doesn't look familiar
I'm playing the game for the fifth time, but i used to have it for PC but it kept glitching after the Temple of the Ancients and wouldn't go farther after i beat the Red Dragon. I just want to keep your places in mind this time around :-) but i don't know where this is
TommyBoy249r 3 years ago
This is the Gi Cave, in Cosmo Canyon. Once you finish the event here, it's impossible to get back as far as I know. Leveling grounds 6 is the best, though others have been stating about Junon having something like this, making it the fourth leveling grounds (and this one the fifth).
ulillillia 3 years ago
Nice!
Ensilope 3 years ago
I never knew you could pull that alarm. If I do indeed average around 1400 EXP per battle, then I may be able to reach level 99 much earlier than I ever thought possible (at least, in reasonable time. I'm now wondering if I can do it in just 40 hours instead of about 55 to 60.

if u put 2 growth weapon/armor does the ap stack on??
FallKelvin 3 years ago
? What do you mean by "2 growth"? Double growth? In that case, AP really does double. An all materia with 1200 AP on it (level 1) on double growth would level up twice in a row (level 3 with 6000 AP) after doing a battle with "mover" in the Northern Cave, of which normally give about 2400 AP in that battle (800 a piece and there's always 3).
ulillillia 3 years ago
how do you get all that materia? that impossible guy
sifthead11 3 years ago
Master it. Master an "all" and replace it with the new one that appears. Master that and replace it again. Keep doing that and the list fills up fast. It's the fastest way to get gil - millions come very fast (haven't you seen my "ultra fast chocobo" video - 1.4 billion gil is something that'll take many hours to get).

dude how do u power up premium heart?!?! ive tried the two tricks but tifa's damage just resets.... help meeeeeee......
chaosenomega 3 years ago
I think the description had "power up when *near death*". I never used it as a result, but when you've got a maxed strength, even the weakest weapons are no different from the strongest for damage done.

Heya ulillillia, I sent you a Private Message on the forum you frequent. Check it out, okay?

I have a question. I have only ever played FFX, FFX-2, and FFXII. I have enjoyed all of the games so far but I want to know if it would be worth getting some of the older ones. They look to be good and most peoples favs are always the classics. Also if I get them can I save them directly to my PS3 HD, or do I need to get a PS1 memory Card and play on my PS2? Thanks in advance.
darkvegeta4 3 years ago
I don't know anything about any of the newest consoles - the Gamecube and PS2 is as far as I've gotten. They're far too pricy right now with practically no games of interest. I don't know anything about FF10 or its sequel, though I have played (and completed) FF12 - I have four videos here on YT of my typical actions.
ulillillia 3 years ago
you can create a playstation 1 memory card on the ps3 by going to your data storage area and create a memory card inside your ps3 and be able to play and save playstation 1 game data.

flam3rb0y 3 years ago
I didn't do any specific training until the end of the game, where you fought those pot things that you have to give an elixir to in order to defeat them. That combined with the W-item materia exploit helped me get to level 99 in a couple of hours (only 3 characters). The game didn't really require training, and I really only did it at the end because I could
thelamp33 3 years ago
I'm very familiar with the W-item exploit - it's partly how I got to 1.3 billion gil and those pot things, worth 1000 AP each if I recall are called "magic pot". I prefer having the greatest amount of power as early as possible. As of the time I posted this (May 20, 2008), I already have over a quarter of a billion gil with a maxed strength and vitality and in terms of the story, I just finished the "Temple of the Ancients" part, disk 1. See my "maxed vitality" video for more details.

Hey ulillillia
Do you own any other Final Fantasy games other than FF8 and FF12?
tooplex 3 years ago
Sorry i meant to say "FF7 and FF12"
tooplex 3 years ago
I own 1, 2, 5, 6 (I have videos of 6), 7, 9, and 12. Since 11 is an online game, that will unlikely be added to my collection. I've reached the fifth leveling grounds yesterday and this one will take a while (20 to 25 hours' play time (3 days)) before I get to the point where I record a video - I'd like it the moment I reach level 99.... I've already got over 10 million in gil and I've only spent another hour at it. The maxing of the strength stat is very likely to follow.
ulillillia 3 years ago
Are you thinking of making any videos of FF9? I really enjoyed that game.
tooplex 3 years ago
Sorry it took a long time to reply - I suddenly was completely unable to reply to anything.... I currently don't have FF9 with me and I'm stuck in the storyline (just got Quina in some swamp or marsh). Despite that, I'm on a level around 34 or so and I even got the most "expensive" item from that chocobo minigame. The clock is more than maxed.... It's music is the best of all FF games so far but its strategy guide is worthless forcing me to do everything on my own (puzzles are the worst!).
ulillillia 3 years ago
wow you really love to be overleveled!
Great job and patience.
I wonder, how long did it take for you to reach lv99 the last time?
Please answer^^
flak76e 3 years ago
I don't recall exactly, but I do recall spending 3 10-hour days at it from around level 40 or so. I generally stop when it takes 20 to 30 battles just to level up one character. Once I get to the area where 6 enemies yield 1620 EXP (and 5 with 1300-something), my 5th leveling grounds, I can assure you that I'll get a video of this. I should be close to it though - it's near Rocket Town (over 99% certain of the location). I think it may be about 60 hours, still on disk 1.
ulillillia 3 years ago
oh nice. I thought it would take more than 60h.
How is FF12 going?
flak76e 3 years ago
FF12 was finished about 8 months ago, left untouched since. When I first played RPG's (this was the first "real" one), I kept on leveling up and wondering just how many levels there were. Levels meant more power. 68 comes along and I gain the EXP for 69 and I see that there's still another. It's this that kept me going and got me into extreme leveling like I've done here. I've been doing it ever since (2002). My 2D RPG game has no limits (even above 255), even the stats have no limits.
ulillillia 3 years ago
You should play some Nippon Ichi games such as Disgaea, Phantom Brave, Makai Kingdom, or La Pucelle Tactics. These games have lv9999 level caps and still have plenty of room for further character improvements (such as leveling your weapons by various means).
N0Lif3 3 years ago
... and how long does it take to get to 9999? If it takes only 60 to 100 hours, then its just the same as FF. If it takes more than 300 hours, then it would be more worthy. What about the stats and damage amounts? Do those have limits beyond what other games would have? I'm completely unfamiliar with all of these you've listed....
