Why nobody stand up for beautiful ukrainian leader of opposition - Yulia Tymoshenko? Lady fighting herself with Putin's puppet - criminal guy - Ianukovitch and his corrupted mafia. Where is leaders of democratic political parties? They are waiting until on ex-soviet space will be created TIRANIQ empire that will be a danger for Europe?
Yes Mr Kenny, we are the ONLY country who have the chance to vote on this. Now you guys are hell bent on trying to remove our chance of ever voting again!
I take it you and the rest of the Government will be rewarded with nice property's over seas while Ryanair fly's in all the refugees and Turks, Intels business booms again from military demands. So long as your happy, that's what a yes is about.
In the mean time while you's are happy we will have to live here in a country you destroyed.
"It is the people who will make the decision in the end." Well said Mr Kenny, if only that was something of real consequence in the EU. How can you even stand to be in the same room as Barroso who has openly disparaged real democracy? He said that one country cannot decide for the others (clearly false since the treaty must be good for everyone), that the lisbon process will continue regardless of how anyone votes, & that the Irish should vote yes because of being given money (bribery).
You are talking rubbish. Saying yes to this EU Treaty will not get us out of the recession any time soon nor will it create jobs. Tell me how in God's name does it make Ireland better. Just another scaremongering tactic from the YES side.
The Eu can provide finance to help us retrain the thousands who have lost jobs! They can provide placements for all the graduates who are unable to do them within Ireland. Ireland will be included in their Eu wide jobs creation programes. I trust Barossa far more then I trust Cowen or Linehan or Gormley! The Eu will be vital for Ireland as we can't do it alone. This treaty will make the Eu a better place. It will give power to our democratically elcted MEP's. It can only be a positive step.
Thats such a negative thing to say. What if France said that in 1973. Where would we be know, still in poverty with nothing. Ireland (If were realistic) has been hit very hard by the recession simply cos we wasted the boom! I'm voting yes as I did last time. Its people like you embarrass the country.
WE wasted the money that was earned in the boom???? what boom you idiot?? it was a false economy !!!! looks like you really need the education alright,, we are in the EU for over 40 years and are in recession since, including the last decade when people thought there was a boom, but in fact it was a bust, THAT IS SOME RECORD!!
What are you on about? Eu funds into Ireland has totaled over 100 billion. If you look at every road you will the see the part financed by the EU part! Most of our trade goes to EU countries- only because its tariff free making our products affordable in France or Spain. Without the EU we become Iceland- Isolated, poor, demoralized. Vote Yes please!
Mr. Kenny or the EPP might press to alter the fact that multinationals are allowed to move from one country to another within the EU and draw down multi million grants in both countries. They are taking the EU as FOR A RIDE. Also why is the minimum wage not the same throughout the EU... Is this one economic unit or not?
something for Fine Gael and the EPP to think about
HOW TO GET OUR COUNTRY BACK.. get rid of the Senate, scrap theequarters of TD'S. Have no Presidency. Have no advisers or experts in spin. Nationalise the banks(a priority) Jail ceo of banks ("for what they did to this country" Print a proper constitution of Europe and put it in a referendum to all the European people. Assign appropriate interest rates to individual countries. And this is only for starters. God bless Ireland...it needs it.
Ireland has received apprx. 40bn since 1973 - French and Spanish fishermen take approx 2.5bn of fish from Irish waters each year. Ireland 'owes' Europe nothing!
The EU wishes to become and empire and and wishes to turn Ireland into a tiny insignificant canton!
We will not have a second referendum.!
When you and the other fools form your socialist empire please leave us out!
We wish to leave!
we will have our fishing grounds back too and you can shove your farm quotas up your hole!
Oh ... and by the way ...one bank said of one of the top Fine Gael T.D'S in 1981 THAT HE HAD NO BUSINESS INTERFERING IN BANK BUSINESS AND THEY WOULD TELL HIM WHERE TO GO. It took nearly 30 years, but oh how the wheel turns. Mr. Kenny, please call on the government to nationalise the banks, and get rid of the arrogance that were the Irish banks over the last 30 or so years. And a message to the Banks...what goes around comes around.
The cheek of the banks! Are these the same banks that forced land sales in 1981 ? Are these the same banks that charged 21% interest on Loans? and send out their arrogant Hitler Carpetbaggers to terrorise Irish farmers with threats of land possession in 1980? Are these the same banks that forced Irish farmers to sell land and thereby eliminate them from a state rescue plan? Are these the same banks that want these now tax payers to guarantee their loans,. THE UTTER CHEEK!! UR STANCE Mr.Kenny?
A european wide referendum on the lisbon treaty is the way to go. Asking the Irish voters only in a peoples referendum was stupid .. it was like asking a little island off ireland to vote on a treaty for all Ireland. The European Peoples Party should press for a full and fair referendum to be put to ALL the PEOPLE of Europe. Then there would be no further dispute, and nobody trying to dictate to the irish or any other nation. It's the way for peace and harmony in the E.U.
Unfortunately thats not the real goal of the Europe Union. Their goal is NON-DEMOCRATIC CONTROL before anything else.
Now add to that the jesuit-masonic-mafia men behind behind the curtain and you can see that the EU never will be of any good in the long run, not even the single-currency (watch that controlled interest and inflation!)
and by the way if europe want this "treaty" passed, why not put it in a referendum to all the people of europe? are they afraid of the result? or is easier to persuade a few governments to accept in the hope they will get a few extra euro for their trouble. Come on EPP back a europe wide referendum on Lisbon.. or are you too afraid of the peoples opinion, which i'm sure you profess to hold dear.
Dear Sir/Madam,Indeed the idea of a European-wide referendum on the Treaty has already been suggested by several EPP members during the Convention, but with no majority.A number of high-ranking EPP politicians have since repeated the idea(such as the President of the European Convention,Valerie Giscard d'Estaing;former French Prime Minister, Dominique de Villepin;and
Finnish Foreign Minister, Alexander Stubb). For the EPP this idea remains on the table when it comes to future Treaty reforms, but please bear in mind that all Member States would have to agree on this change in the ratification procedure.Kind regards,EPP Press.
here is a question for you then... was Mr. Kenny told politely (ordered) to go back to Ireland and back the Lisbon treaty and thereby get increased powers for The EPP, It doesent stand to reason that Fine Gael should back Fianna Fail and the other big parties... after all they are the opposition....and its time they started to oppose, especially now as ireland's enonomy is in big trouble... and what is the EPP's input in this situation?
This is the second time Kenny has asked for a vote from the Irish people and the second time he has been rejected. It's time for him to go. I think his actions along with those other supporters of this undemocratic treaty were treasonous. As long as he is leader of FG his party will suffer.
"The name 'constitution' has been ditched, most of its least popular elements are still present: it will militarise the EU, enshrine neo-liberal free trade principles and transfer powers away from national parliaments to EU institutions. In some cases words have been changed to try and distract from the retention of the very aspects which led the French and Dutch voters to reject the Constitution -- but nevertheless the substance remains very much the same as ever" Caroline Lucas MEP Greens/EFA
Hmm I see we are all allowed to comment now....it certainly wasn't like that in the run up to the vote when only the yes side were allowed to comment!
Conned also By the PD's And that fat, chocolate swallowing Harney. We havent forgotten those handmade chocolates you were swilling when the rest of the country we're feeling the pinch!
well he should have "thought"more before backing the "treaty". Maybe he should look up what "opposition" means and also place the good of the irish people first and not the good of the EPP. As he is such a structured thinker maybe he should think of resigning. He can now add a failed referendum to his failed general elections results.
Clearly Enda Kenny is a structured thinker, clear communicator but his EPP alignment (for both his own career and that of the FG party) is a slow melting of any kind of political leadership representative of irish people in to the homogeneous bland soup of europolitiks.
What an extraordinary view to take that the repackaged undemocratic euro constitution should be beneficial to Irish or other Europeans.
thank dev for the constition if it wasnt for tat we wudnt even be givin an referendum they wud had imposed their will on us and instead tried to scare us into it all yes parties traitors of the people and those politicans onli looked out for them selves

I am voting NO by the way !!!!!!!!!
i used to vote fine gael in every election.. but it wont happen again. mr. Kenny, do us all a favour and resign. it seems that EPP have a majority in the European Parliament... wouldn't it be nice for their power if Ireland voted "yes", with the help of Mr.Kenny. Maybe if Mr. Enda put the people first and not the dictates of his colleagues in the EPP. With this poodle attitude I can never see him as Taoiseach in Ireland. Realise it is a con job and VOTE "NO"

funny how he is interviewed by a lady from EPP...Of which the video states he is vice president of. Oh.. and by the way... there are 10 vice presidents of The European Peoples Party. Small fish in a big pond. Enda don't be used by the big guys... get to grips with the implications of the treaty and get your party to campaign for a "no" vote.
I think Michael Collins would have used this so-called "Treaty" (which is called a "Treaty instead of a "European constitution" so as to prevent a referendum in other countries) for target practice. Both big parties are a disgrace, particularly Fine Gael for not opposing this rejected constitution. As for the Greens ... good jobs are worth minding eh!!
Mr. Kenny seems to ignore ,or at least doesen't take into account what Giscard dEstaing said about this "treaty"..... "Public opinion will be led-without knowing it-to adopt the policies we would never dare present to them directly. ALL THE EARLIER PROPOSALS WILL BE IN THE NEW TEXT BUT WILL BE HIDDEN IN SOME WAYS" MR. KENNY IT IS NOT TO LATE TO HAVE YOUR PARTY CAMPAIGN FOR A "NO"VOTE.
Dear Sir/Madam,Thank you for your comments&interest.Although we have only recently started to produce these videos,it is precisely our aim to use this media in the future to further improve&enhance the clarity of communication between European leaders&citizens, so that both parties can learn more about each other, the concerns, points of view and actions. We therefore thank you for your comments&hope this will be beneficial in providing a closer look at European life.
For God's sake, you are all so full of shite!! None of you have the slightest clue what you are talking about!!
How can any european country compete in the international markets of the future with the emerging asaian economies, aswell as Russia,India, and many african states?
We need the European Union to allow our economies to survive a rapidly changing economic climate. And to Mark4m56, what in the name of God are you on about? European citezans have benifited greatly over the years from EU!!
we'll still be part of the EU project w a no, right? I've watched as much as I can on this subject and its all very unclarified on the yes side..'vote yes or we'll all look like spas'..jesus..this, as the EU constitution, was rejected by the french and dutch right? and if we are 'to survive a rapidly changing economic climate' don't we need democratic principles upheld by the people if not the econo-leaders..they're not being straight w us..& don't frighten me into a yes..its ok to vote no
*We need the European Union to allow our economies to survive a rapidly changing economic climate*
Can you tell me exactly what year...roughly, Great Britain's economy suddenly took a nose dive and we needed to join an unelected pseudo European government to survive, because I must have missed it!
As an aside the peasants don't get to vote on a TREATY, nor will they get the democratic luxury of a referendum either!!!! Its Checkmate!!
The WEST is currently entering a period of economic decline brought on by food shortages, rising world populations, rising oil prices and the advancement of eastern and other "poorer" economies.
By the way Im Irish and the peasants here do get to vote in a referendum (even if they are being mislead by left wing loons).
vote no. i for one do not want the EU to become a state. What is the point of it? Why loose every country's independence for the sake of Europe?! Ireland is going to have less of a say in what happens in the EU and to have our laws governed by a foreign entity?! It'll be like going back to being under British power! I don't trust the idea of it at all.
The Treaty of Lisbon will create no European "state" and we will lose no independance and probably increase our say in Europe.
I also take it that you are unaware that Ireland is getting a better deal than any other country with Lisbon: We will retain our right to veto in more areas than any other country. Because of this a "no" vote would reduce our standing in Europe and more than likely destroy our credibility.
if there is 10 billion in ireland economy and the european cenral bank(privately owned) prints 5 billion new notes, what happens to the 10 billion in irelands economy?it becomes 15 billion thats worth 10 billion.INFLATION how they release 5 billion?lend it at intrest for mortguages.ROTHSCHILD FAMILY OWN EURO CENTRAL BANK. vote no
as eddie hobbs says -you can have the useless and the completley useless.
kenny is totally completely useless.
When motorola left cork we all went off the pub when the layoffs were announced. there were media out side the pub and deirdre clune came in promising we would be fine gaels number one priority(and managing to get her face on camera)
That was the last time we ever heard from her. (and fine gael). they just used us for publicity. vote NO!
I see the stepping down of Ahern with the controvsy hanging over his head from prime minister of ireland next month. The ***ts in media circles in ireland are painting it as a positive step for a yes vote, somehow saying that ahern's reputation (if he stayed) would be a deciding factor in the vote, which is propagandised bullshit. Irish people should develop there own reasons on how they should vote not on what there been forced down there necks. A no vote is the ovious choice.
Dont put the gilt trip on us kenny. ye did that about the enlargement treaty and look at the shit we are in now. Irish workers being laid off and eastern europeans getting their jobs for a smaller wage.
do you want to be ruled by dáil eireann or some fecking parliment in brussles! cop on man vote no for feck sake! forget money & all that for a second we're gonna lose our identity as Irish people

Azak001 3 years ago
we'll still be part of the EU project w a no, right? I've watched as much as I can on this subject and its all very unclarified on the yes side..'vote yes or we'll all look like spas'..jesus..this, as the EU constitution, was rejected by the french and dutch right? and if we are 'to survive a rapidly changing economic climate' don't we need democratic principles upheld by the people if not the econo-leaders..they're not being straight w us..& don't frighten me into a yes..its ok to vote no
krumbull 3 years ago
Will you people stop spreading shite about the Lisbon Treaty and give some valid reasons for voting no!!
Azak001 3 years ago
give us a valid reason for voting yes?

*We need the European Union to allow our economies to survive a rapidly changing economic climate*
Can you tell me exactly what year...roughly, Great Britain's economy suddenly took a nose dive and we needed to join an unelected pseudo European government to survive, because I must have missed it!
As an aside the peasants don't get to vote on a TREATY, nor will they get the democratic luxury of a referendum either!!!! Its Checkmate!!
Moonbeamzz 3 years ago
The WEST is currently entering a period of economic decline brought on by food shortages, rising world populations, rising oil prices and the advancement of eastern and other "poorer" economies.
By the way Im Irish and the peasants here do get to vote in a referendum (even if they are being mislead by left wing loons).
Azak001 3 years ago
who are u calling peasents farmers or who
iamgreatf 3 years ago
No one in particular.
Someone just said how the peasants had no vote and that there was no referendum. I was just telling him that all citezens are eligible to vote.
Azak001 3 years ago
vote no. i for one do not want the EU to become a state. What is the point of it? Why loose every country's independence for the sake of Europe?! Ireland is going to have less of a say in what happens in the EU and to have our laws governed by a foreign entity?! It'll be like going back to being under British power! I don't trust the idea of it at all.
unhingedsock 3 years ago
Yes mr sock, you are truly quite unhinged.
What are you on about?

(and fine gael). they just used us for publicity. vote NO!
socall01 3 years ago
I see the stepping down of Ahern with the controvsy hanging over his head from prime minister of ireland next month. The ***ts in media circles in ireland are painting it as a positive step for a yes vote, somehow saying that ahern's reputation (if he stayed) would be a deciding factor in the vote, which is propagandised bullshit. Irish people should develop there own reasons on how they should vote not on what there been forced down there necks. A no vote is the ovious choice.
29Bunting 3 years ago
Unlike the UK, you guys are going to have a chance to stop these pariahs in their tracks.
Say no to this re-heated constitution. The Irish already have a constitution, their own, and it means thay have a vote.
Use it.
Say no.
Yea, say no for me too.
I could not.
They would not let me.
TroyaE117 3 years ago
The Reform Treaty is 96% the same as the rejected Constitution. He is Misleading
He speaks as if Ireland having a Referunduum on this is a problem. ("we have to", "we have no choice"). He sounds Anti-Democratic
The Future generations of 500 000 000 Europeans are NOT "depending on us to ratify the Treaty". They are Depending on us to Reject it.
spacemonkey103 3 years ago
Dont put the gilt trip on us kenny. ye did that about the enlargement treaty and look at the shit we are in now. Irish workers being laid off and eastern europeans getting their jobs for a smaller wage.
seanodor 3 years ago
everyone would be better off without the EU, except politicians which is why most politicians are for it
mark4m56 4 years ago
If they vote no, it will be re-packaged and they will have to vote again.
The great lie... the "reform treaty".... the re-heated constitution.
TroyaE117 4 years ago
shut up you bloody british fool. Let the irish decide on their own.

it is not about being a member, it's about being under the control of unelected people
making unelected laws, which history has shown is a huge mistake.

Who says our future SHOULD be at the heart of Europe (EU)? Plenty of other countries do very well without being members!
