That looks like an MR750. I have the same set up (20lb propane and burner) but cant get that kind of flame. Have you had any experience or tips to get a better flame length.
he torches the clay because during centering you have to use a lot of water and the wetter the clay the easier it is to twist or tear so the torch is removing moisture to make the clay stiffer and easier to "belly out", or to make more round, around the middle. hope that helps
