Hey Bro! Nice review!! Keep it up! This Knife is so nice that I bought one as soon as the video ended. Got mine for 150, IMO its the best deal I got for a knife! Especially one of this caliber! Way to go Benchmade!
The blade is hard to deploy and snags at the halfway point of opening. I tried this blade out. Handle too small which makes reversing your grip difficult. It's also hard to tactically close in a hurry. I like benchmade for both it's utility and self defense options and this blade ain't it. The belt/pocket is too short. I work everyday at an animal shelter and constantly encounter situations where I need a GOOD HIGH QUALITY KNIFE!. Which knife would you recomend for me? I would perfer something a bit heavier. I want something that I will not have to sharpen often and is thick.
Dude, great review! Nice to see your enthusiasm shines through in the video. I see from the comments, that there is a problem with blade retention with the Benchmade 755 MPR; there must be a way to adjust the retention, because at $235, I can not purchase multiples until I find one that will retain the blade. Any suggestions as to how this blade retention issue can be sorted? Keep up the reviews : -)
@RoyalAlba1 I have two 755 the first one sucks but the lates one rocks, I'm going to make a video review talking about this issue. thanks for watching man!
Does this knive come in Multiple colors or is it just different people's camera's? Just wondering because they all look slightly different, some look teal, some look OD and some look Black? I could really use an educated answer, I am ordering one today and that is something that I really need to know. Thanks, Brad
@TheBigbrad75 hey Brad this Benchmade version comes in green, not od green but closer. I know there are custom MPR's that use different materials and colors thanks for watching man. your going to love the mpr. I already have two.
@paperas24 Hey man, Thanks for the quick answer. I have an update on my purchase for ya. I ended up going with the 15030-1 Bone Collector. My wife is getting it for me for a Father's Day Present and I like it just as much as the MPR and I thought $250 for the MPR (first production) was a little bit much to ask for a father's day present. I've got SpyderCo's but this is my first Benchmade. I'd say I'll end up odering the MPR very soon. You think I made an OK choice going with the Bone Collector?
@paperas24 OK, Finally ordered my MPR today! This'll make my third Benchmade, not to mention a few SpyderCo's. I'm also going to order the Gold Class Carbon Fiber Griptilian next week, I am now officially a knife-aholic as well. Do you happen to know where the nearest treatment center is? Thanks...
The purpose of the monolock release bar hole you question is to allow the titanium to work as a spring. If the metal were thicker you would not be able to bend it. The others answered this question well. I also just got the knife, like it, and agree with the review. Also see Aircat Knives...Dwaine Carillo.
I believe the hole there is so that the metal will bend to lock open the blade. That is what I am thinking, it being a frame lock. This knife reminds me of the look of the KABAR Fin that I saw on their site, but I am sure it is more stout. Thanks for your review
Great review! I also loved the enthusiasm! At 3:30 you asked what the purpose of the notch cut in the liner is. If no one has told you yet, that is where the liner is cut thinner to allow it to flex and let the portion of the liner at the front lock the blade open. .
I just got mine the other day. I saw it in a local store and then bought it on eBay. What surprises me most about this knife is the ease to disengage the titanium mono-lock. It is surprisingly sturdy when locked but when you disengage the lock it is quite easy. Zero blade play in any direction. Built like a tank and the combination titanium frame-lock & clip make it very attractive. For the type of cutting I do this is a perfect size for me. So far very satisfied with this knife.
Did you comment that there is a little issue with the blade retention on this knife? Is it tetention very light like the mini dejavoo? I'm really liking the 755, it's so different from the ordinary slick, long, thin, common BM knives, but it's really unique and the more I look at it, the more I like it. Let me know what's going on with the retention and if there are other features that you don't like about the knife. As always, great knife and a great review man. 5/5
@rezzoro7 hey man, sorry for the late answer, the blade is awesome but yes the retention is not the best feature. very poor retention on the blade. hopefully they will change the future versions.
That is a beautifull knife. I would like to add it to my collection but I just dont think that I would carry it. It looks built like a tank. Thanks for sharing.
Nice Knife. You ask at one point, what is the point of the little hole in the titanium lock down near the base of the handle. I believe the point of that is to allow the lock to spring and bend. if it was solid you would not be able to unlock the blade.
wow I didnt realize it was really that big, in the catalog it doesnt look like its that large but its definately an amazing looking knife, Thanks for posting
Wow! Great vid for an awesome knife, Man! Glad to see these are finally being released, and congrats on getting one of the First Productions... very cool!
@nycdave212 thanks for watching man, it was a long wait but nice at the end. I love your videos man. I never asked but, you how many knives do you have? you have super fancy blades man!
@streetmaster63 you're going to love this blade, I really liked overall man , the only issue is the blade retention. but it is an amazing design! it is a affordable option for the stryder. (it wont never be a Stryder but it makes you happy) Knives are my only addiction
@Severator I liked overall but it has an issue (after the excitement) blade retention, but it awesome. thanks for watching man, I wish you the best in your new home!
Beautiful knife! I think that notch you were wondering about is at that location on the frame lock bar, it makes it easier to move the bar to the unlock (closed) position
