I have been in recovery for 3 years now, and am finally really starting to accept food and weight gain. I am happier too now that I am larger than I ever thought I would be. Not all that large mind you, but way more happy. Keep fighting and it will get easier and easier!
Congrats on staying with it for 2 years, and hope you got to have that Martini. Keep it up and youll get to where you want to be. Like i always say, i may not get what i want, i may not get what i need, just as long as i dont get what i deserve lol
I understand how you feel.. I've tried to recover like for years and it hasn't worked at all... is really hard... and -I always give up... I know I have to eat... and I do... but then I vomit or keep in
counting calories... or just hate myself everyday...
I whish I caould be like you 2 years in recovery... I can't stand three months
@noreexic being in recovery is a process hun. She is in recovery and always will be. An eating disorder is never fully recovered. Some thoughts will always be with you.
@noreexic well, you know, every person is different with recovery. some don't even make it to the point i am at, so you really have no right to judge where i am at with it. the fact i can actually eat and enjoy food (high calorie foods at that) is awesome to me. i don't struggle with ED thoughts telling me i'm fat like i used to, and my weight is actually in a healthy enough range..so to say i'm not 'in recovery,' is quite odd to me.
well you've also said that EXTRA small shirts don't fit 'because the sizes run big" An extra small runs big? the chairs were made for "big people" ? C'mon!
um no. in some stores maybe, but i actually wear a small or medium, or large..depending on the store. it's the same as jeans, the sizes are all different depending on where you shop. as for your previous comment about not eating a meal, i eat at least two a day.
A martini shaken not stired. Hi Ashley it's good too here from you. Congratulation about being 2 years in recovery. I'm glad you managed to recover because you are a wonderful person. If typing bothers your wrist it might be carpel tunnel syndrom. I think a wrist rest might help.
Spiritualreality > Canada is not always that cold like most people think, specially in the southern regions. During the summer it gets also hot and people sweat and go the beach and enjoy ice creams. It's just a couple of months only, but the weather is usually beautiful most of the year.
Awe Hun..... I wasn't laughing at you at all!!! PLEASE don't think that! I was just teasing with you. For the most part, the population of Canada lives close to the border. So, "generally" our weather is the same as the Northern States such as New York, Washington, Maine, etc. (Of course there are always the exceptions....Calgary!) Yikes! and I have a friend that lives just north of there! HA! (sorry) The weather has actually been pretty sucky. Here in Toronto anyway!
I blame global warming :) I did some research and UV rays do become less the further you are from the equator so I guess it just takes a little longer to get a tan in Canada
Please tell me that you are kidding?!?! ;-) Different areas of the country are slightly different, BUT...here in Toronto, it gets up to +30 degrees celcius in the summer and often in the Spring and Fall as well! And Ashley said...we don't live in Igloos either! LMAO!
I blame global cooling or something, lol. Ive read it happened a few times in Calgary caused by a jet stream from the north. Brings a whole new meaning to 'Christmas in July' except in June
Hey Ashley. maybe if you just said something like "can we celebrate my way, at home with a martini" You might be surprised just how understanding people can be. And I hope you can find the perfect chair, kinda like goldie locks. You might have to go through the ones that are to big and hard and the ones that are too small and soft before you find the one thats just right
good job

sounds like your half assing "recovery" You won't even eat a meal. And those chairs are made for average sized people, not big ones. Denial.

yeah because you are such an expert aren't you? ha.

two is better than none and even when i was not struggling with an eating disorder i was never a big eater. think what you want, i don't care.
justagurl23 2 years ago
Well thats great Toby, way to stay positive.
Since the average American sized person is overweight. She is not wrong to say the chairs are built for big people is she?

I didn't know you can get a tan in Canada
Spiritualreality 2 years ago
yes, yes you can. it does not snow 24/7 and i don't live in an igloo, although it would be a nice idea in the summer if it didn't ...melt :)

I figured the further you are from the equator the less UV rays you get.
