Absolutely love listening to this - his voice - just "fooling around" - is incredible. His album is terrific, but his LIVE performances are mind-blowing. And his album has some great songs, but Adam deserves songs of the caliber of "Ray of Light." Hoping so much his second album has them.
Michael Jackson better? If Adam got half the hype MJ got, he'd be king of the world by now. Just don't see the MJ thing at all....just me. Adam is beyond incredible, beyond description. He then started writing his own music and teamed up with people like Fonzerelli to create music. He joined a rock band. He worked as a session singer to learn more of the recording process.
He realized that at his age, being who he was, it would be near impossible to make it in todays music business so he gave AI a shot and it paid off. What's wrong withthat?

People even in the music biz are still dodgey about open singers like Adam especially in the U.S no matter how good they are. There is also validity in his not being discovered anymore comment. I guess I just haven't seen a lot of promotion from his camp and I worry that he's letting a good opportunity go by... the guy is mega talented but isn't working it the way he should (IMHO).
@eiknujcisuma Have patience. He's not going to be famous over night. He's been promoting himself pretty well as with the rest of the crew. The trouble is whether or not venues and etc. are up to promoting him or hold him back as well as the fans. If you don't request his music on the radio when we can and vote for his videos and such then he'll be losing promotional opportunities there as well. Plus he's on his SOLD OUT tour. I think he's doing something right. It's a promoter all on its own.

But his talent, even if you do not like his style of music, is undeniable. Why do people have to fight about it? I am a huge Adam fan and will be seeing him next weekend at Borgata. I am enjoying watching his star rise, as I enjoyed watching Madonna's, and I do believe he will one day reach the top. People need to stop being hateful!

@chrisleclair09 From what I gather, it wasn't until about five years ago that Adam realized he wasn't satisfied as a Broadway singer. He then started writing his own music and teamed up with people like Fonzerelli to create music. He joined a rock band. He worked as a session singer to learn more of the recording process.
He realized that at his age, being who he was, it would be near impossible to make it in todays music business so he gave AI a shot and it paid off. What's wrong withthat?

@chrisleclair09 Well he is the first openly gay singer to be signed to a major label so what he said wasn't an excuse. People even in the music biz are still dodgey about open singers like Adam especially in the U.S no matter how good they are. There is also validity in his not being discovered anymore comment. He believes you have to have fan base first. Nowadays I can see business wise unless there is a substantial fanbase, behined the person they're not going to take a risk with them.

@chrisleclair09 To be honest with you, I'm a little frustrated with Adam at the moment because his album is really good but I just don't see him out there promoting it the way he should be. FYE was a disaster but he should have overcome that by now and it seems like he decided to hide after it. I guess I just haven't seen a lot of promotion from his camp and I worry that he's letting a good opportunity go by... the guy is mega talented but isn't working it the way he should (IMHO).

@eiknujcisuma Have patience. He's not going to be famous over night. He's been promoting himself pretty well as with the rest of the crew. The trouble is whether or not venues and etc. are up to promoting him or hold him back as well as the fans. If you don't request his music on the radio when we can and vote for his videos and such then he'll be losing promotional opportunities there as well. Plus he's on his SOLD OUT tour. I think he's doing something right. It's a promoter all on its own.

When I say talent, I don't mean just vocal/singing abilities.. Madonna may not have written her first major hits but everything after her first two albums was written or co-written by her. Why don't people just stop comparing artists that obviously don't have much in common - the one thing they do have in common is that they're both extremely talented. I'll be honest, I like Adam better but that's just my opinion and I don't go watching videos of Madonna and post comments that she sucks or something like that. @kiia95, you can't be sure if Adam will be up or not when he's 50... We'll just wait and see. He has the ability to surprise people...

excuse me, but Madonna is NOT 60 and she got the talent. maybe she hasn't got amazing singing voice but she's got the whole thing and that's why she's so succesfull. and I think that people think Madonna's voice is much worse than it really is. it's was okay live too even everyone told it wouldn't be but I was surprised to hear that it was. and adam is really talented and sings great but lets be honest. he's not gonna be up when he's 50. and Madonna is. so that's the difference.

It is hilarious the arguments that get fueled in the comment sections of these videos. Madonna is an icon for more than her singing ability. Adam is just beginning. But his talent, even if you do not like his style of music, is undeniable. Why do people have to fight about it? I am a huge Adam fan and will be seeing him next weekend at Borgata. I am enjoying watching his star rise, as I enjoyed watching Madonna's, and I do believe he will one day reach the top. People need to stop being hateful!

Madonna is an icon in pop world not because she sings well, but because she took risks and shocked ppl. with her videos and attitude--she was the first to really do that.

True, Madonna SAYS she doesn't have a great voice, she just has something to say. (She is 51 btw, not 60, same age as Michael Jackson.) This is my favorite song of hers, so I LOVE hearing Adam sing it!
And YES, he is better at messing around than most artists could ever dream of doing even with their autotune!

Managed to get the #1 best selling/grossing tour in 2009 26 years after her debut. What other artist of her generation does that besides the Rolling Stones? Adam Lambert , while extremely talented, cannot compare. Regardless of how vocally talented he may be. It takes more than that to succeed and Madonna is a clear example of that fact.

All acts mentioned got their record deals with openly gay men as their front men. Adam Lambert, however talented, isn't the first openly gay man to score a record deal. Educate yourself.
