  • The USA is a failed state.

Dysfunctional government, crumbling infrastructure, collapsing economy, exploding levels of public and private debt.

  • The real problem with America is not its crumbling infrastructure, its ever-climbing debt, nor even its corrupt politicians. No, the intrinsic problem lies with the people of this once great American Republic. A democracy only exists when its citizens are truly in control of their country and the government. That is lost to history, yet something far worse than this is that the American people are bereft of courage to take back their country, fix the heart of the problem and reinvigorate the US

  • The Problem in America is people talking too much and do little.

  • The reporter is HOT, i don't care even the world crumbling. All i want is her.

  • "Things being gone." Ba ba Bullshit.

  • Those figures for so-called Europe, include fixing up stuff in states in Europe that have not had any money spent on them since the second world war. . European Union is financing new bridges and roads in Poland and elsewhere where previously folk never bothere to go to the very same places that sparkling new freeways go to now a days. . It is a shame these newsreaders aren't selling something, they'd sell a million the way they are going on about it. . . Cheers. from, del-boy.
  • painted rust

  • america is broke duh

  • I saw a lot of your videos comparing India and China....why are you talking so negative 'dystopic' about US at the same time praising others.....after all USA is not that bad....

  • Everyone wants low taxes! Folks don't realize that poor road conditions cost you more money in vehicle wear and tear than a moderate fuel tax hike that would fund rebuilding our roadways and bridges which would also create thousands of jobs in the construction industry. The only solution is higher taxes. Anyone up for $0.25/gal fuel tax increase so that we can begin rebuilding our roads and bridges? I didn't think so!

  • The de-industrialization of America is all a planned hostile take-down of our infrastructure and make America a post-industrial 3rd world nation on par with Mexico. That is why the borders are still wide-open after 9/11.

The goal of the globalists is to create a borderless global plantation where we are all slaves to a few ruling elite.

  • no surprise

  • We can't afford the concrete! China is using 25% of the world's concrete supply. Prices are going to be too high. This country is going to hell in a hand basket fast.

  • Of course, if we ever did do anything to solve this problem, the politicians will scream that it's pork barrel spending.

  • Across America, the list keeps growing of examples of America's infrastructure crumbling. Dec-07-2010-- From Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans to the recent pipeline explosion in San Bruno, CA, it's becoming clear that the problem of aging infrastructure is not going away anytime soon.

  • Infrastructure benefits mostly common folks. No one's got the money for that. What would you do? Complain? Well, now a days they'll sick their gang stalkers on you, and they've got no shortage of money for that. It's like an insurance company denying claims because even after paying adjusters, engineers and lawyers, it's cheaper for them to deny claims. Large corporations have merged with government, and you are on their dinner menu. Look up GANG STALKING TV & MONARCH II (PT TWELVE) on YouTube.

  • The U.S. credit card is maxed and we can't even make the min payments. Why Globalism and the wage race to the bottom.

  • guess well all have to move to Iraq to actually get some benefit from our tax dollars

  • Everything looks good where I live, it seems like they are always out maintaining the roads and infrastructure.

I'll bet they are lucky to have a dirt path in Russia where we have a paved two laner. And of course we know that Russia has plenty of fire protection they prolly still have forest fire burning out of control.

  • These infrastructure projects were supposed to be the "shovel ready" project ripe for the Bush/Barry taxpayer boondoggle. So now, we're going to have pay AGAIN via bonds (what they're trying to pass this fall in my city).

  • Christine is looking hot these days...

  • How do you spell Prea? It's a really beautiful name.

  • @MustacheVerra - two ways... priya or preeya

  • @Shroomn2hi Thanks Shroomn. If you have a minute, do you know the origin of that name? Is it of Russian origin or something?

    Thanks in advance.

  • @MustacheVerra - The name is Indian, and she is Indian (not Native American). It is also a Thai name, as there is a good deal of Indian influence in Thailand. Priya/Preeya is of Sanskrit origin meaning "dear, beloved".

  • @Shroomn2hi Wow that's nice. Well i guess i have to thank you again. :)

  • Get out while you can. I moved 3 years ago, best decision I’ve ever made.

  • @Kaligulasucks Where? I-m curious...

  • @gringodeltoro1 Canada for now, but I don't think I’m gonna stay here either. Quality of living is much better but the job opportunities are about the same for me.

  • @Kaligulasucks Yeah I'm thinking south america more and more... learning spanish at the moment... good luck !

  • law of karma you do bad to others bad will happen to you. we destroy our will be destroyed we kill some one will kill us. America usedf to be an angelic power against Devel Empire. and now it is the other way around. if we believe in this simple of law of Karma, you have not seen the rest. destructions and massive powerty is awaiting for the leading country of the world UNLESS we Change

  • America has too many tanks , it doesn't need roads. Most for the military :D

  • thank god at least we bailed out the banks so that the CEO's could assign themselves fat bonuses for successfully having robbed the economy and speculated the entire world into debt. so much better than spending that money on bridges, roads and fast speed rails and creating real jobs which actually create something tangible. phew - at least obama got this one right! congratulations!

  • It makes no sense to continue to up-keep our modern cities. We need to rebuild them entirely from the ground up. Materials do exist that will last much, much longer than traditional profit based standards.

  • infrustructure spending is just a money making scheme for corporations. we dont need 7 bridges over a river in a city within one square mile.

  • @signboyy i hope you were joking. electricity, hospitals, water supply and gas is all reliant on physical infrastructure. if you think those things are unimportant then you are gonna love america in the 21st century

  • @superfuzz

hospitals are breeding places for disease and essentially pharmaceutical retailers so of course pharma corporations want to use public money to help them sell drugs

more money is spent maintaining water systems than it would cost to build more modern ones and in a world with bottled water do we really need a water system which seems to just feed us flouride and chlorine and pollutants which seep into the system?

  • @superfuzz

electrical power system maintenance could be eliminated by making it localized using home power generating and storage technology which has existed for 70 years. but that technology is supressed by the power companies.

you speak of the 21st century but the fact is corporations have kept our infrastructure in the 19th century in order to make lucrative profits off of the maintenance of those systems rather than upgrading with more advanced technology they supress through patents

  • good thing we're pissin away trillions fixing up other countries

  • i have a brilliant idea: lets pull out of the illegal wars, save a few hundred billion per year, fix the infrastructure, use the rest to apply to debt, and maybe, just maybe balance the ffin budget.

  • @thatcrazypiranhaguy Also, stop spending money on space exploration.

  • @Aboxatax - really? What a great idea. After all, space has done nothing for us. Not GPS. Not global satellite communications. Not advanced weather monitoring that saves lives, or intelligence data that keeps our troops effective. Do you have any clue what a tiny fraction of the budget NASA is? Meanwhile, we have the world's largest air force (the USAF) and the world's second largest air force (the USN), 11 aircraft carriers (more than the rest of the world combined)... and you attack space?

  • @47f0 meh ~~~ I served 7 years on three USN ships. I did my part. And as far as saving money. My family does well when we cut the small purchases for awhile. Works on a small scale. Stands to reason that the same practice would work on a large scale too.

  • @Aboxatax - so, instead of a large-scale budget item, the DOD, you pick on NASA, which, if it were wiped out completely would barely make a drop out of the budget compared to very, very modest defense cuts. I guess your family saves money by cutting back on a weekly pizza while buying Ferraris.

  • @47f0 OK, thanks you for the well thought out comments. I am impressed with your insight. Which leads me to ask you, what will turn these trends around? WHat is the clear cut answer. I'm not seeking speculation nor opinion. I am on a fact seeking mission. And by posting these "naive" questions I can gather ALOT of info from many sources. Defense cuts will never happen. Lowering taxes would only help high income citizens. So what else can be done?

  • @Aboxatax - Cut social spending. I say this as a confirmed socialist liberal. But there is a great deal of waste that helps no one. When two demographically identical towns in Texas have a 100% difference in Medicare spending, something is wrong (the MDs in one town own all of the labs - guess which town bills the most in useless testing). College kids are struggling to pay SS that is getting paid to Warren Buffett. The wealthy don't need SS, which was meant as insurance, not savings.

  • @Aboxatax - further, the SS cap is at a ridiculously low, at $90k. So, if you're rich, you pay a lower percentage into SS. Again, it's supposed to be social insurance - not a savings program.Clint Eastwood doesn't need his SS check - but he gets one anyway.

    .

As a liberal, I hate sounding like I'm attacking social programs, but it's the biggest elephant in the room, and waste could be eliminated without actually hurting people who need those services.

  • @47f0 I remember being young and being told SS would never be there for me. My parents, my teachers and my politicians all said the same thing. I'm talking 25-30 years ago I heard that SS would run out. Have I saved money? No. Have my peers? No. So I don't know why the current politicians are bothering to fix anything. The answer will be the same from everyone:

    - Keep all the services I use.

    - Get rid of all the services I don't use.

    Easy.

  • @Aboxatax

Nothing gets fixed with dems and repubs in the whitehouse. Vote independent.

  • @Turbo291 Independent huh? Like that will ever happen. Buncha ball washin' bastards. The Independent party is laughable. Not because they are wrong or ineffective. But because they are too fucking late. Plus every single Independent Party candidate looks haggard. I'm telling ya, we're all fucked now. Oh well I hope we can say we had fun while it lasted. Who voted for Obama? Stand up and be counted so we can UN-Americanize you.

Sorry I am coming across so bitter.,.,.

  • @thatcrazypiranhaguy great...what do you do about the other $53 trillion dollar total debt the US has accumulated? How do you get out of debt if there is more debt than actual money?

Fuck money. We shouldn't ask ourselves "can we pay for it." the question should be "Do we have the resources," and yes we do. The monetary system is outdated and is collapsing, and there is NOTHING that can prevent it.

  • @xchainlinkx end the entitlement systems, reform social security.

  • @thatcrazypiranhaguy there's more DEBT than there is money. How do you pay back $2 if there is only $1 in the total system?

you cannot fix the system, it's inherently collapsing. Think outside the system for once and see it for what it truly is; a corrupt, outdated system where aberrant behaviors are rewarded with profit.

  • @xchainlinkx

Notice how when the media talks about the national debt, they never say who is owed the debt. The U.S. and other nations have massive debt, but no one is told whose on the other side of this debt.

  • @thatcrazypiranhaguy - Yeah, reform SS - because a system that's $2.5 TRILLION in the black is clearly broken. What we need to reform is robbing the SS fund every time we want to start an unprovoked war. You're right - SS is in trouble. But it's in trouble because the thieves in Washington stole the money I paid into it my whole life - not because it doesn't work.

  • @47f0 Here Here. I've been saying for 4 years since the original Engineer's study came out that we need to invest in America. But as they clearly have spelled out yet again, think of Iraq and Afghanistan like Pottery Barn, if you break it you own it. So we bombed the shit out of those countries and broke what infrastructure they had and NOW we have to fix it, as a good will gesture. But 10 years later Bagdad is still very much broken and Afghanistan is worst than that if you can believe it.

  • @thatcrazypiranhaguy

what exactly is so brilliant about that idea?

  • sounds like RON PAUL 2012!!!!

  • I hear a lot of talk, and talk is cheap. End the Military Industrial complex control and you end the money drain. End the Fed and you end the control of wealth by private banksters, End the CIA and you will no longer be at war. End all 3 and you will have your freedom back. That is the change that is needed BEFORE you can even complain about infrastructure! There’s the cake…

  • gov wanted this obviously, dumb down the populace and control with entertainment. no one cares that the country is literally falling apart.... big bang theory and csi are back..

  • Infrastructure... hmm... isn't that maintained with domestic spending? Could someone remind me which party it is that has been preaching for decades about cutting domestic spending while preaching the increase of spending on the military-industrial complex? Also, could someone remind me what is Starve the Beast and the Two Santa Clauses Theory?

  • First time I went to America I was shocked at how bad the roads and rail were compared to Europe and even compared to the UK everything looked so old and so temporary. For example all the EL train lines in NYC look like a rusted meccano set that can be taken apart at any time.

  • Wow, every aspect that makes America great is slowly dying.

  • i am so glad i don't live in america . the cracks are showing.

  • good report ,,

  • 1 word: corruption

this is what you get when theres corruption from the top down with everybody pocketing money instead of spending on upkeep and funding BS social pet projects to satisfy constituencies

  • We have infrastructure here. It is called the military structure. All budget shrink while the "defense" budget grows.

  • What goes up must come down.

  • Aging infrastructure affects any modern-going country, from the New york to Beijing. look at russia, potholes you could mistake for craters lol.

The US MAY be crumbling, but at least we're still holding together somewhat. Unlike other countries where infrastructure is almost nonexistant. In fact, it's a shame russia has pretty much allready collapsed, those people used to move whole blocks of buildings in one go :D

  • It's over people, run for the hills,
