so then what is the difference then between this and a duplex repeater im asking cuz i was thinking about getting one of those one channels repeaters from radio shack the one you have but i also have two base station kenwoods id like to use as one big repeater how do you program the freq in the one you have in this video ? any help will be greatly apreciated thanks !

@fnesetmmyd well what i did is set on radio on the rx freqency and the other on the transmit so like 146.790 for example is 146.190 so what you do is set your rx radio on the input and the transmitter radio on the out put (ps dont forget a positive shift for the input usally +6 and a -shift on the ouput)

i have one of these me and my group usta use it for the frs private bands but we got people who go by the latest little radios just to start with people so i built a internet repeater now all they can do watch not join in so now me and my group are having a blast i still have my uhf bases they are getting so hard to come by so i created a solution to that as well ..

the program EchoStation is a repeater-control program for Windows which makes it easy to set up a complete, fully-functional repeater or "announcement machine" using a personal computer. you will need a relay to key up the radio and for audio. the rig blaster works great for this purpose, i had use this system for gmrs use it works great, the only expence i had was to buy the rig blaster, the small cheaper rig blaster works great.

i use frs-gmrs radio with the same simplex repeater works great @ 5 mile radius or better. bought it for $55 @ clearance radio shack sale thanks.

Does this thing really work? If I would put it 100 feet in the air and then talk from 3 miles to the south...would somebody 3 miles to the north of the repeater hear me? Can I get an external antenna to put on top of my chimney?

so wait...this is how it works; this repeater would be hooked to a portable, then all other portables in transmiting range of the portable that has the repeater will be able to connect and repeat their transmissions?

yes, technically a store "voice" then forward "voice" when the user stops transmitting and unkeys their radio, so if you said "123" when you unkey you will hear in your voice "123"
