Nice lights, but it seems the lights you like most are not temperature adjustable. Right? I understand the lights you like are cost effective and you can use gels to color correct and change temperature/color. Do you know of an LED light system that is as bright as your preferred light system that is temperature adjustable? I know I'm asking alot. Thanks.
Get the Sima that is marked the "international" version as you don't have to wait to for the batteries to recharge, you can plug it in and use it as desired. It costs a bit more but all the difference!
I hate the fact that u can't use AA batteries but other wise the SIMA has Superb brightness....I have ONE...and I was gonna get the Litepanel Micro...some ppl think it's th ebomb but a lot of others were disappointed that it's like $270 but it's not as bright as they want it...I think I'm gonna rock with 3 or more simas...I'm not gon be filming in THAT much darkness for over an hour..most concerts I'm at have good lighting and If I'm too far back my light won't matter..on stage it works wonders
I think the distance between the lights and the fridge made the difference. I think One sima is just the same with one bescor. I guess the price is more due to the battery system or the bulbs.
nice but I think LED would give a nice light. What you want is natural light. Something that would look more like sun light. Bright white LED do not mach that. But yeah it's only a on-the-go setup of course.
Darren If those 30 dollar lights work so well then why not crack them open and mod the battery ? should be able to add an external pineapple battery holder with a voltage reg. to them. That way you could remove the only negative with them (dead in the water when the original battery goes out)
You wanna take it down for me? Be my guest ;) -- It's been very busy. 5 days in Toronto, 2 in DC, finally sleeping in my own bed, then off to CES for 4 days. I'll get to it later....
Like that your think in terms of weight

I'm going to do just that. I just wish I had purchased more of 'em and started the modding process weeks before CES.
Hak5Darren 2 years ago
@Hak5Darren Just make sure you film it. Might make a good segment taking it back to the hardware roots.

We used to leave our tree up until it became a serious concern whether to light the tree or not, in fear of it going up in flames.

Should the Christmas tree be taken down by now ;p

....or leave it up for next year ;)

@Hak5Darren Ugh it would be a little bit of a long flight just to take down a tree . .yeah I think the best option is just to leave it up :D

I have one of these Sima's for some casual shooting and was thinking of getting a couple more. This was a great comparison. Thanks!!
