Dear anna,... u r an inspiration to me... it is u who taught many of us (newly wed wives) what cooking is all about! Each time i get a Waah! from my hubby... i quietly thank u in my heart! :))) Keep going and all d best wishes for your new videos.
Though i love your recipes but i wonder why most people from India and Pk make their pickle like this, we make it completely different 1. cut up sour mangoes and leave it for 3 days in an air tight covered container with salt shaking it frequently, 2. removing them and sun drying them with carrots and split fresh chillies for 1-2 days .3 making the wagar (again in a very different way). 4. finally mixing all the dry ingredients to the wagar, this lasts for 12 months

hello who said avakai is avakado.....omg who is gonna make picke with avacado i"m gonna trough up...
he mentioned it right avakai means avalu( means mustard seeds) and kai mean kaya (mango/ any other fruit which is not ripened called as kaya )so both together got that name avakai.
i can't imagine avacado's in indian way of pickling i'm sorry....lol its a disaster...i feel
@Nilo375 cool it dude... do some research before you make yourself look like an ass.. Avakai is a kind of spicy pickle made with green mangoes and is especially popular in southern India... And I can tell you it does taste great.. NOT terrible.
Btw, people have been eating those raw mangoes for centuries, and there are so many kinds of mangoes, some of which are grown to be consumed like this, not ripe.
I just discovered you! Brilliant. I'm from South Africa and used to eat this achar all the time. My mouth is literally watering as I'm watching you make it. Thanks for the recipe!!
typical south indian, can't wait not even few minutes be tasting the pickle. i use to do that when i was a kid. i love it. it taste ummmmmmm.......sanjay i love your expressions.
u love ur cooking job, it shows. u eally r great at the video, u r so less self-onscious about eating it rom the bowl, which is very cute. this is the first time that i am watching, i was searching the net for pickle video when i found urs. thank god
I have heard that mango peel can cause a allergic reaction for those who are sensitive to poison ivy. in this recipe the mango was not depeeled. should i be concerned?
halo sir, thanks for this recipe but i wud like to know whethre there is specification of particular kind of oil to used to make pickle???mostly i have gingelly oil being used to make pickles thats y i am asking...wot oil is best for pickle that makes it tasty and stay for long period?
raw mango is good for making pickles, ripen mango is not good for making pickles, it doesn't taste even good, it will spoil soon. its better to use raw mango for pickle
