  • this...is not meth

  • "YEAH, MR. WHITE! YEAH, SCIENCE!"

  • Jesse: yo that is awesome yo...bitch

  • This is awesome.

  • no one really gives a shit about chemistry. We just saw this in breaking bad so went searching for it :)

  • It was mentioned on a Law and Order episode too; a killer used it to make explosive bullets. But I don't undertand how this powder can be made into bullets and what stops the bullets from exploding in the barrel of the gun.

  • @AtheistOnTheEdge when te bullet hits the target the force will light the mercur.

  • @AtheistOnTheEdge Filled hollowpoints. Same principle as poison bullets and such. I don't know if anyone has actually pulled it off, though.

  • Man that's just like on Breaking Bad.

  • @Ieatutube Nah not really, even if he could make a crystal of M. fulminate that looked like meth, the explosion from it wouldn't have destroyed the windows with enough force to knock down the evaporative cooler like it did, while leaving people in the room pretty much intact, especially Walt who was right beside it ^^

Hollywood exaggerates its explosions as dramatic license.

  • ARE YOU NUTS!!!

  • 2 people thought it was meth.

  • how do you make or get that >

  • Yeah, Mr. White!

Yeah, you pyro Expert. My man!

Now this is why I like the military channel.

  • Yeah, Mr. White!

    Yeah, science!

  • If the room is at room temperature, then how come the mercury is not liquid?

  • @Thedoctor19000 because you are not watching a mercury video, you are watching a mercury fulminate video

  • @DeanMalenko: It said mercury metal became deposited on the glassware.

  • @Thedoctor19000 You do understand that mercury can form amalgams with other metals, right? Because only pure mercury is liquid at "room temperature".

Besides, it's a coating. If I spray paint an object, the liquid has a cure process and becomes a coating.

I'll be honest with you, I do not know the equation of this reaction so I can't tell what's in the glass, but there are a lot of ways to have a mercury compound in solid state.

  • @Thedoctor19000 Mercury Fulminate is not pure Mercury.

  • Walter White has balls!

  • i thought you show your teeth at 0:45 :P

  • Breaking Bad totally didnt send me here O.o

  • mercury is toxic!!

  • why not make a massive pile of it and light it on fire... BITCH!

  • Thumbs up if you got here searching for it after watching Breaking Bad.

  • Yeah Science!!

  • By your calculations, would the crystallized form of this (a rock about two inches in diameter) be enough to cause the damage seen in the show Breaking Bad?

  • awesome :O

  • Bryan Cranston demonstrates it better on Breaking Bad

  • @TSW5580 Though slightly less accurately.

  • You'll never get back the precious seconds you've spent reading my comment. =)

  • @bledevik and i read it twice motherfucker! T-T

  • You go Walter White! Fuck Tuco up!

  • nice video walter white

  • Put up a video for synthesis.

  • Where do I get this shit?

  • Hey, I'm really liking your videos! I got a question, though, that paper fuse you have in some of your videos, do you make it? If not where can you purchase such fuse? Also just a tip, when adding annotations, you can select "title" and it will make the letters bigger, and it won't have a grey box, around it, you can also move the "title" so its on the bottom of the screen, just a tip, but you might already know that!

Well keep up the great work!

  • 0:35

try to watch it without blinking :-P

  • nice demostration there

  • Looks to me like a slightly more volatile and definitely more toxic flash powder.

  • 0:42 look how many compounds are on that shelf! How many of those are explosive?

  • mercury vapor!!!!!

  • Would you give me 5 tons of it?

  • Damn chemistry.. you scary!

  • And you still have all 10 fingers? Amazing

  • 1:29 skip the intro

  • yeah science yea mr white

  • I remember in bio class in 8th grade when our teacher was demonstrating this stuff. Yeah I dunno what he did exactly but the explosion was WAY bigger than that. lol Like the room was filled with smoke. It was hilarious.

I think he was just messing around but it was like "Oh lets try a little more." BAM!

  • @Onizuma13 *Chem class

It was SOME kind of science class. I don't really remember.

  • @Onizuma13 How do you know it was even this stuff? It could've been something completely different that had similar properties.

  • what if tuco had tried to crush it and snort it like he did with the meth?

  • @gravgun he would most likely die of mercury poisoning or it would detonate while he snorted it due to it's high sensitivity.

  • mmmm nice

  • the power of shock wave is large as the one appeared in breaking bad the crystalized form ?

  • breaking bad...

  • looks fun.

  • breaking bad brought me here

  • nice ;D

  • this, is not meth!

  • @Jeorgy92 hahaha breaking bad

  • after i realized it was fulminated mercury, i wondered what would have happened if Tuko (Tuco? Tucco?) had crushed it with his knife nad tried to snort it. if you know what im talking about...

  • @Basco36 in your opinion what is the most stable and safe primary to use I can make any in the world so it can be anything also it's for blasting caps. Thanks

  • hello . how the hell do u get hold of mercury i carnt get hold of none to disolve it in nitric acid.

  • @serialkissersband i know, just wanted to make a funny coment

  • @serialkissersband

good luck buyin 1kg of mercury and geting a raid from fbi

  • Good video MF is awfully toxic though and isnt a really good primary explosive.

  • Toxic explosive, glass shrapnel. Bad combination, even if it's a safe test.

  • when I first saw this I was "you store it?!" but then I realized it was underwater lol. cool stuff! mercury vapor scares me though... do you know the VOD?

  • @hkparker what is it, vod?

  • @Basco36 Velocity of detonation. I looked it up, its 5181.6m/s

  • @Basco36 Velocity of Detonation

  • @Basco36 velocity of detonation.

  • @Basco36 velocity of detonation

  • @Basco36 VOD=Velocity of Detonation

  • @Basco36 velocity of detonation

  • @Basco36 i think it means velocity of detonation.

  • @hkparker the detonation velocity of mercury fulminate is around 4250 m/s

  • @hkparker the detonation velocity of 4250 m/s is not as fast as other compounds but the reason it is so dangerous is because when it explodes it creates abnormally large amounts of fumes or gases

  • @hkparker 5000m/s (4g/cm3)

  • @Phacias I wasnt standing next to it smart one

  • @Phacias there is nothing left of the glass to hurt anything, and since it has nothing to do with you why do you even care.

  • @Basco36 seriously that guys an idiot

  • @Basco36 how come its powdered, can it be a big chunk?

  • @Phacias It's not heavy enough to travel huge distances and contain its energy. You're just being a CUNT!

  • @Phacias you need to get your penis inside of a vagina and stop worrying about other peoples problems man

  • @Phacias

Haha you can control an explosion much like a controlled fire, I'm sure this guy took caution when setting up his blast space xD

  • @Basco36

    its still stupid and wasteful

  • @Phacias LEt us argue that it is deflagration as opposed to detonation.

  • @Phacias he has a point, little pieces of glass can cut skin. But then it's not so bad.

  • @Phacias

    LMAO WOW. YOU ARE FUNNY

  • @Phacias if you think this is stupid and unprofessional maybe you should look at this video by professors. watch?v=drHVT4NHSNQ

  • @Phacias He did it on purpose to show the effect of the explosive...... You are dumb....

  • Comment removed

  • who cares it made it awesome

  • poor test tube... LOL
