it is an instrument, a sampler-looper there are just a few good things I miss:

PITCH control SWITCH, at least 16 or 32 slice parts (it has only got 8)

and at least 4x4 sample-pads; a larger screen and a PC - LIVE - SOFTWARE- TOOL XD

I have a question.

I just saw a famous beatboxer using one of his KP3s. What he did is apply a function which basically is; after 3 layers of sounds, he started singing and added to the voice record( when recording) the delay effect, without affecting the other layers.

What happens to me is when i do that, the delay affects every layer in the sampe banks.

Anyone knows about that function and how to make it?

this review hardly scratches the surface. It's essentially a sampler with a wide range of effects & a few on board synth & drum sounds. You can resample using the effects & go wild with the tempo dial. Check out Beardyman as an example of what it can do if you connect a mic to it. I'd recommend this thing to anyone

@Robot0Ninja MPCs are different machines with more sophisticated sample edit/trimming, quantization and chopping for creating songs & beats, i reckon. They're not about effects.The Kaosspad is more a live sampler with more usable effects than the MPC thanks to the X-Y pad & sample pads, but it's harder to edit looped music samples successfully even with a PC. The Kaosspad has basic synth & drum functions & also makes beats but I wouldn't compare the two

Im using mine with guitar, but i cant get the drumtrack (for eg. dr02) to keep looping while i sample in other stuff. Frustrating me like hell! Im sure u can do it, aswell as having a drumtrack goin in the dry channel and play guitar over it in the fx channel

@onijordan I'd get the Korg KP3, the Roland 555 is a nice, but in my opinion the Korg is easier to use live, and I really love the touch screen control. The KP3 is also half the price, and you get a lot for your money( I got a used one for $150, like new at a pawn shop), the cheapest used 555 I've seen was $400. I play a lot of electronica, pop, techno, and dance and I love my KP3 in the mix with my synthesizers(Roland Juno-106, Korg Polysix, Poly800, and MS2000B), hope this helps you :)

you can only set korg input to master and output to your amplifier. so you can put the effekts on your master signal. or between turntable and mixer. but with send return you can choose the channe or even both ;-)

whatever you do, try not to use mp3 because it is the worst. Cd players are easier. The best set up (for me) Numark Belt-Drive into a MPC1000 with a KP3 (there is also a mackie 1604 but that is because i have many other keyboards and midi modules)

none of the music is on the pad....you gotta jack an external source into it.....mixer...pc....hell you can hook your Ipod up to it.....1/8 inch to rca's cable...and the four buttons at the bottom can sample loops to trigger at will and it has a synth...and also a vocoder which you can utilize with the mic input on the bottom right
