fags i own a z28 the only difference between a z28 and ss is the looks and like 20 hp which i already surpassed with minor cash. also the z28 comes with a $1500 body kit the ss doesnt which makes it look more agressive and not just plain like the ss. i love both cars and whoever hates on either, doesnt own one, drives a mustang or is just a little bitch that doesnt even own a car sitting behind a computer.

@jabba12000 they are pretty much the same car, the SS option was mostly just an appearance package consisting of a different hood, spoiler, rims, and minor, let me make this clear, MINOR intake and exhaust differences that only added 15HP. So yeah, nothing really gay about a Z28.
@CrOw7086 Looks like DRs to me. Burning out causes them to stick. And even if it was just a stock street tire, the hotter it is the better it hooks up. Do a burnout on a stock tire and then drive thru gravels and see what happens. The tire will pick up every gravel it runs over.

@rdewitt08 What are you missing? I'm pretty sure I know Turbo 400 is a 3 speed auto. I was trying to make clear to him that the really fast cars run auto and that autos are respectable drag cars. BTW what do you drive? My LT1 had a 4l60e in it with a 2800rpm stall and a transgo shift kit. I (as in with my hands not a check book) swapped it over to a t56 this spring. Personal experience the auto was faster and more consistent but the stick is more fun on the street.
@CaptainOTA i agree , i own a 99 procharged SS..i have my 4L60E built to handle the power and i have a 3000 TCI stall..it's very consistand and i never miss a shift..and theres nothing like it kickin down in gear and spinning the tires at 60mph (back when i had street tires and not MT drag radials)

i know that...my question was why....typically if your sidewall is gonna be bigger and you are gonna run a bigger tire its gonna be on whichever one is being driven. plus the two wheels are different. So i was wondering if it was running its track tires and the rears broke so the streets got put on or what..

I am not against street racing, I street race myself. I DO however only race on one spot of the interstate, it is barricaded in from the opposing lane and we stop at the on ramp until there is no traffic within a mile. The only time we race is late at night as animals cannot get into the area and traffic is light enough. I would LOVE to have a 1/4 mile or even an 1/8 mile in the area but the nearest one is hours away. We do what we must, and we must do it safe as possible.

As a Paramedic, I can tell you of a number of kids I have seen with terrible injuries that have resulted from street racing. For some, all we could do is pronounce them on scene. I hope you never have to be the one to tell a Mother that her Son lost his life doing something like this. Stopping dead in the middle of the highway (note the pickup pass you on the right as you stop on a six lane highway) is not only illegal...it's irresponsible. Maybe you'll be the next one I pronounce. Sad.
I'm a bit surprised nobody has replied to this. In a civilized manner I respectfully disagree with your perspective. While it is incredibly difficult to be the bearer of tragic news, you must recognize that all of us who have ever pushed the limits of our cars were fully aware of the possibility of death or worse, living quadriplegic. To most of us, this IS living. To make my point, more of us survive than die get injured. The only problem is when an uninvolved driver is killed.
Also, the number of people screwing with cell phones and makeup and those just not paying attention, who cause accidents, far outnumber those who are racing. I don't condone car chasing through heavy traffic, nor do I condone racing in residential areas. But, if we had a true 'fast lane' like on the autobahn, people would not be faced with choosing to spend big bucks on a racetrack or taking a chance on a public road. Fast travel would be expected and tickets given to those who dont move over.
it would be nice, but sadly there is no fastlane on the autobahn. around 70% of germany's autobahns are limited in speed. on those which aren't cars travel at around 160 kmh (~100mph) on both lanes, except when there are Lorries (trucks?) around. then everyone has to squeeze by them with excrutiating slow speeds, because they tend to overtake other lorries with an speed difference of 5 kmh 8(.

Plus, the right length... because every car is different, it's all about 1/4 mile, and they have the tools to measure and see who wins, no arguments.

You must live in a state/country where it's not so strict. You've got to remember, not everyone lives in the same place you do. Just go to your states DMV website. The total cost, depending on the situation, can range far greater than 10g's. If you kill someone, crash, lose your license, fines, have to pay impound fees, etc. Add that shit up. If you lose your license, how you going to get to work? If you hurt someone, insurance won't cover that, and your fucked. Do some research dude, seriously.

@rdewitt08 What are you missing? I'm pretty sure I know Turbo 400 is a 3 speed auto. I was trying to make clear to him that the really fast cars run auto and that autos are respectable drag cars. BTW what do you drive? My LT1 had a 4l60e in it with a 2800rpm stall and a transgo shift kit. I (as in with my hands not a check book) swapped it over to a t56 this spring. Personal experience the auto was faster and more consistent but the stick is more fun on the street.

@CaptainOTA i agree , i own a 99 procharged SS..i have my 4L60E built to handle the power and i have a 3000 TCI stall..it's very consistand and i never miss a shift..and theres nothing like it kickin down in gear and spinning the tires at 60mph (back when i had street tires and not MT drag radials)

On average, 3 victims of streetracing come into my ER in Atlanta every week (for the last 8 years). Due to our superhuman efforts, less than 10 die a year in my ER. Of course, the average streetracer has no insurance, and cannot pay his average $250k bill for his criminal behavior, and those costs are paid by the productive members of society who have to carry you douchebags.

I am not against street racing, I street race myself. I DO however only race on one spot of the interstate, it is barricaded in from the opposing lane and we stop at the on ramp until there is no traffic within a mile. The only time we race is late at night as animals cannot get into the area and traffic is light enough. I would LOVE to have a 1/4 mile or even an 1/8 mile in the area but the nearest one is hours away. We do what we must, and we must do it safe as possible.

As a Paramedic, I can tell you of a number of kids I have seen with terrible injuries that have resulted from street racing. For some, all we could do is pronounce them on scene. I hope you never have to be the one to tell a Mother that her Son lost his life doing something like this. Stopping dead in the middle of the highway (note the pickup pass you on the right as you stop on a six lane highway) is not only illegal...it's irresponsible. I don't condone car chasing through heavy traffic, nor do I condone racing in residential areas. But, if we had a true 'fast lane' like on the autobahn, people would not be faced with choosing to spend big bucks on a racetrack or taking a chance on a public road. it would be nice, but sadly there is no fastlane on the autobahn. around 70% of germany's autobahns are limited in speed. on those which aren't cars travel at around 160 kmh (~100mph) on both lanes, except when there are Lorries (trucks?) around. then everyone has to squeeze by them with excrutiating slow speeds, because they tend to overtake other lorries with an speed difference of 5 kmh 8(.
but driving at night is still great ;)

Illegal street racing is fucking retarded, no matter what way you look at it. Take your cars to a closed-track where they have the right environment and the right safety precautions... Plus, the right length... because every car is different, it's all about 1/4 mile, and they have the tools to measure and see who wins, no arguments.

One problem.... People aren't going to travel hundreds of miles to race a quarter mile for an hour. Most towns/cities don't have local dragstrips to race on. If there were more tracks then street racing would take a huge drop. Even if they were free to race on, street racing would decline. So until they make more tracks, street racing it is!

You must live in a state/country where it's not so strict. You've got to remember, not everyone lives in the same place you do. Just go to your states DMV website. The total cost, depending on the situation, can range far greater than 10g's. If you kill someone, crash, lose your license, fines, have to pay impound fees, etc. Add that shit up. If you lose your license, how you going to get to work? If you hurt someone, insurance won't cover that, and your fucked. Do some research dude, seriously.

But here is the point: If you street race on open public roads where you could hurt innocent people using the roads for their intended purpose, then may you die trapped in the burning wreckage alone and screaming before you hurt someone who matters.
