Why only outsource, IT, engineering & manufacturing to the lowest bidders, India & China?

Is it not discrimination against a specific group of skilled labor.

Why not be fair and invite bid on all kind of jobs & functions, and sell it to the lowest bidder, which probably would be India or China.

Then we will have a small percentage of rich people with increasing stock value , and 90 percent unemployment rate.

The H1B program should be eliminated - it is one of the BIG reasons for the current economic downturn. Corporate America lied to Congress when they cited a supposed shortage of qualified workers. Corporate America continues to tell these same lies.

The H1B scam was put in place by Bush to lower and supress American worker's wages. Thanks to him I am now out of work, along with thousands of other Americans who have lost theit jobs or had their wages pulled down into the gutter because of it. I was put out of work at Progressive Insurance in Cleveland, while illegal H1B's are still there working on EXPIRED H1B visas.

Then the bubble burst because there were not enough strong consumers left to buy the outsourced services & products.

Then Obama took over, and had his 800 billion dollars bill passed to CHANGE the direction from a jobless economy to a job full economy.

The fact is, getting the jobs back on track is a question of our survival, not a choice, anymore.

We need additional steps beyond just a stimulus bill with a "Buy American" clause in it. We need a trade policy that favors American products over imports and favors American labor over foreign labor.

For the sake of argument, what if every company in America shuts down their operations & resume their operations elsewhere, hire Indian only and, then expect to sell their products & services to Americans?

This may not have happened in entirety, nonetheless, this has been the direction of the American corporations with full force in the last 8 years.

What happened as a result of the directio?

Stocks climbed for few years and created a deception, created the largest jobless economy in the world.

Pay no attention to deassoc. People have tried to discourage us before, yet years back restrictions on L-1 visa abuse were won in favor of American workers by exposing wrongdoing, just like Washtech is doing now. Keep speaking out and never mind the naysayers!

I am a software development engineer in a large US company. I have not seen an American engineer hired in four years. All new hires are from India. It seems management will only hire Americans for customer facing support positions which pays one half what a more skilled developer makes.

Obama promised more than once during his campaign that he will reward with tax breaks only those who create jobs & that he will remove tax breaks given for outsourcing the jobs.

He must adhere to the promises if he is really serious about reaping the gains of the stimulus plan.

You guys have been working at trying to change this for years and it has gotten you absolutely nowhere!

These companies will simply ignore you and turn a deaf ear! Do you think for one second they care about what you have to say?

Even though I agree with you in principle, the only way to stop this from happening is for President Obama to order a halt to it and that'll be that! Otherwise, you're wasting everyones time!

India has protested against protectionism today.

If India protects their jobs for Indians, then it is not protectionism.

By the same token, if America protects jobs for its own people, then it is not protectionism.

Outsourcing, whether by sending jobs over there, or bringing excess foreign workers here, is destroying our nation. The ONLY thing that will save our country is for Americans to be able to work and earn a living in America. What difference does it make how cheap the shirts are at Walmart when our incomes drop to zero? The idea that America can just go on buying and hiring foreign is crazy and stupid.
