Is it possible to extract the dimensions of the room from the Kinect feed, please? It would be really useful for building gbXML (and many other things, building related, like cutting panels to fit walls.

Not particularly cool, I grant you, but very useful....

@bobirving99 Dimensions can absolutely be extracted as we use true 3D coordinates when mapping. We are hoping to move into extracting useful building maps from these point cloud maps in future work.

The camera is from Primesense, should be almost identical in specs to Kinect.

We're thinking about publishing a tool kit at some point, but haven't decided yet. In any case, this will take a while since the system is not yet ready for prime time. Your positive feedback is very welcome and motivates us to keep on working on it.
