Yea, i agree with you. Thing is, in Judo competiton they don't give you the time it takes to transition from Tate-shiho to juji, unless you do it real fast. You will be stood back up. I've been practicing bjj for a while now and I really like it. MyJudo game has skyrocketed! Im getting lots more wins on the mat. Judo is my first love but bjj is definatly a close second. My game has improved so much since i started bjj. Bjj'er dont like to stand up with me though.
I can throw them really easy. even the higher ranking ones. If they would take the time to learn standup their game would improve too. It's really all the same anyway. Just one has more focus on ground, while the other on throws. If a guy got really good at both he would be unreal!
Totally agree. Same philosophy here mate; Judo + BJJ = excellent. Hell, try to learn from all grappling styles I say: Greco, Freestyle, Sambo the improvement from cross-training is incredible.
I like the gripping sequence. I've seen, I think it was Jimmy Pedro use that sequence for Tani Otoshi setup. I really like the way he transitions to Tate-Shiho then juji gatame. I'm gonna try next practice. If the throw does not score ippon.
Tani Otoshi-Valley Drop =), its kind of hard to attack with it, its usually a counter to any kind of hip throw.

One of my favorite, this is a great option for a low stance like we do in BJJ, Tani Otoshi rules in both Judo and BJJ.

intresting variation of tani otoshi, it sets up the arm bar well. I do the duck under entry alot, high percentage for me.
