The DT fans should be all happy. How often does it happen, that a band has to decide for some replacement guy and finds one of the best? It's all good. Let's see, how the songwriting continues, since Mike's job was a lot more than "just" playing drums.

Magini is so down-to-earth. I can't wait to hear the new album. I know we all miss Portnoy, but he chose to walk away from the band. I mean why hate on Mangini for it? Dream Theater wanted to go forward and they chose Mangini :)

Ahaha yeah :P Don't get me wrong though, my comment doesn't mean I hate Portnoy or I'm happy he's gone. I really miss Portnoy and was sad that DT didn't want to take him back. But seeing this interview, I know that DT along with Mangini will have a bright future. I'm excited to hear the new album :) On The Backs of Angels really have a classic DT feel to it.

I met Mike Mangini at the Montreal DrumFest years ago and he's the real deal: just a very nice, very humble guy who loves talking drums and sharing tips and ideas. He actually wrote out an exercise for me to work on. All this to say I'm so glad one of my favourite drummers is now with one of my favourite bands, and deservedly so.

Mangini is a genuine guy, you can see he speaks from the heart. He is really nice & a perfect fit, the other guys are like him..really nice. The days of drama & my way or the highway in DT are gone & cant wait for this & all future things they accomplish together. They are rejuvinated & free, love MP, but this is gone in a nice direction for all involved & this DT fan for well over 23 years is VERY HAPPY.

After all Ive seen since hes in...I asked to myself " ¿Is this real?, ¿Did I idolize Portnoy for the same all this time?...When they are guys like Mike, Thomas, Marco and Virg who are inhuman....But man...after I watched the documentary I started wishing to meet someday Mike and Aquiles (even more than the others who I idolize for sure) because they feel like theyre awesome kind hearted people...The seven drummers on the video are way more inspiring than the current Portnoy.....cheers, Dee
