  • At 2:20 isn't the sexiest thing you've ever seen????!!

  • Comment removed

  • name of the song pleazzzzzzzz

  • gran gran video te felicito a ti y a tu pais por crear tan magnifica maquina saludosss

  • fuck you

  • Hate the music(noise)

  • @canamwing yes, that noise seriously SSSUUUUUUCKS!! where do they find that crap, and why would they ruin a good video by using it?? thank the gods for "mute".

  • @uhudmen I think noise is one reason. Big planes with turboprops are noisy, and in Western Europe that is a big issue. Passenger expectations also plays a role IMHO - a lot of passengers think prop planes must be "old" or inherently unsafe. Any western company going for a new design would be going out on a limb investing in a long-range turboprop, and designing aircraft is a HUGE investment - which I think is often why airliner designs go for conservative, dont-rock-the-boat approach, i.e. B787

  • @LoveMeLoveMyDog80 well, the Bombardier Q series is turboprop and is in quite common production.

  • Awesome video, Awesome music. Mighty Awesome Airplane.

  • 1:58 beautiful view!

  • Russia had some amazing engineering with some of their planes, but loyal Russian citizens had to stand in line for basic amenities like toilet paper. I guess it comes down to priorities and making the show look good for the top leaders of the old USSR. Too bad the Bolsheviks didn't come back and demand the real Communism that was promised to them during the revolution.

  • Russia had some great engineering minds but people are leaving Russia these day for better future

  • long life for you mother russia (L)

  • outrageous aircraft - love it !

  • Another perfect Construction form the russian.

    Very Good.

  • Fantastic aircraft. Wish the civilian (Tu-114) version had been kept in service and developed. Both were elegant, graceful and supremely capable aircraft. An intercontinental high speed (contra-rotating) turboprop was, and still is, an excellent concept.

  • @MrBkey if you shoot the pilot, seems like a good plan, til you realize you've just shot the pilot

  • It's beautiful bommer!

  • A brilliant trubute to a world beating aircraft design :)

  • i like how the engine is design two turbine on each engine must be fast XD

  • I LOVE THESE PLANE.

  • The landing gears looks so damn ugly on most Russian airplanes. Like the Tu-95 which has a beautiful design but the landing gear looks like something found in the scrapyard behind the Tupolev factory.

  • @Sooksawaspakdee961

thats coz they are suited for landing on grass strip too, unlike US planes, which are asphalt only.

  • The Bear doesnt need any radar to be detected... you can hear it roar from 100 miles away

  • Definitely one of the best videos on youtube!

  • I could watch this video for hours...

  • A truly classic aircraft. I've seen various MiG fighters at airshows, and the Antonov 224 has been to Montreal quite a few times- but I'd love to see the Bear and hear what those amazing turboprop engines & huge contra-props sound like. The TU114 airliner version made scheduled flights here, but I was too young to remember seeing it. Fantastic video, many thanks for sharing it!

  • Russia is nothing more than a fuck but i like certain things of it.

  • @MrAloo3005 Since when was that a noun? And I wouldn't say that so freely, seeing as how they have hydrogen bombs and everything.

  • Cold war Legend . One of the best planes ever build!

  • Probably the only vehicle that will be used for an entire century.

  • @Brikjard The B-52 might be the other one to join in that record.

  • Ельцин мудак!!!! Чтоб он сгнил в своём гробу!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I am worried about this patrol flights as "provocative", because Western airmen on interceptors are very young, and there are probably some hot heads among them. Ok patrolling is allowed, and IT IS a right for all countroes to exercite, but these big planes go well into commercial air rouyes without giving any piece of advice, thus creating potential danger of mid air collision

  • Way to call a plane "Bear" symbol of russia :D

  • It's good to see the Russian Bear patrolling the skies again. The U.S. had the chance to be a force for good during the time when Russia was down and out but, instead chose to be an agent of malfeasance for the banksters.

Good for Putin that he kicked out Goldman Sachs and restored Russia's will to project power beyond its borders. Now if Putin and Medvedev will just do a massive pogrom against the Russian-Jew Mafia, the Russian people will once again have hope for their future.

  • Such an awesome plane. Looks very impressive and powerful. Yes they are old. Not older than B-52 which is still in service and which is in no way better than Tu95 (not saying that the other is better, I think they're kinda equal.)

No they aren't bombers - they are missile carriers (it's just english word "bomber" makes u think of bombs, we call em "Ракетоносцы" - Rocket Carriers).

  • @MrRein1988 WOW, did you read what you just fucking typed?

  • @MrRein1988 It's a beautiful plane. It doesnt make as good of a conventional bomber as the b-52 but I think thats an unfair comparison. They're both excellent airframes and excellent at what they do. They wouldnt have been in service so long if they were not.

  • шикарный самолет!!!

  • At 0:41, notice the tail gunner. He was always ordered to point the gun up if the plane was intercepted to show that they meant no harm. So, does he point the tail gun back to normal level after the interceptors leave?

  • Fantastic video and great music for the magical Tu-95 Bear, THE COLD WAR LEGEND!

  • In Afghan fighters of Afghan war this plane is known by a nick name of "Mujh Tayyara" meaning "Buffalo Plane".

  • I never heard of this plane having been used in Afghanistan. Tu-16 Badger was widely used, but not strategic bombers like this one.

  • @aleclitvinov: The frame rate of a cam cannot match that of the props on a plane however, they rotate much faster than that of a helo.

  • Not necessary 1:1 ratio, may as well be 1 frame per 10 turns (or vice versa)

  • Oh excuse me, not vice versa. But even if the camera is faster than the props it may give a still image if exactly 2 or 4 times faster

  • @aleclitvinov it can even be 7:8 of the prop speed, since the prop has 4 blades, as long as one blade stands in the place of another one it still looks like stopped

  • Maybe you are right. I heard this from a former Afghan Mujahideen. Maybe he was trying to say Tu-16.

  • Tu-95 not, but Tu-22M-3 has been used in Afghanistan.

  • IMHO Tu-95 could have been useful in case of naval blockade against western Europe, as its heavy payload could have allowed it to carry a great number of long-range (400nm or more?) Soviet anti ship missiles (SS-N-19 to 25) aginst civilian merchantile ships. But modern Surface-To-Air missiles, faster than 3mach, with long range and Pentium or more powerful processors are a too hard bone for Tu-95

  • are you sure that USSR would have gone to war with a turboprop bomber? IMHO it would have been a nearsuicide going within UK orUSAair defense with a turboprop,

  • No more suicide than with a B-52. As with all bombers it becomes harder to use them unless you have air superiority. It would be suicide for someone ot attack the Soviets with B-52s without air superiority.

  • Comment removed

  • anisocoro, the western forces would be too preoccupied with CAS Ops against the vast number of soviet troops pushing forward. plus these bombers didnt come alone. also you have the fact that Tactical nuclear weapons would have been used by both sides at military targets.

  • THE BEAR---- nothing like it

  • If I could fly one plane for a day, I'd fly the Bear, nothing else.

  • The shown cruise missiles at the end are Tomahawks TLAM. Tu-95 are using US weapons? ;)

  • The music sucks, but it's a killer video still.

  • You better ern abt da Tu-95 b4 talkin abt it!!The tu-95 is THE fastest turbo prop ever buit and is the 2nd best after the TU-160! the B-52 may b good, but it can't come close to the Tu-95

  • 2:00 - fucking amazing! slow motion!

  • yeah, that rotors looks absolutely fantastic in slow motion

  • That's not slow motion, it's just because of the framerate from the video. If you look closely you see that the props go backwards in the video. A nice coincidence, looks really cool indeed.

  • that doesnt meen it doesnt look cool :)

  • It wasnt slow motion, it was just an engine-our test.

  • or frame rate of the camera matched the props' turn rate. I have seen a video of a helicopter hovering and climbing while the main rotor 'stood still'

  • u can talk about your B-52 but the tu-95 is still the most dangerous bomber in the world with its "Tsar Bomba" payload with the biggest atomic bomb on the world plus it looks 1000 times better than the B-52

  • The best strategic bomber is Tupolev 160. TU 95 is also good.

  • American fighter pilots have reported to have been out-accelerated by these over short distances! They stop just short of 1000km/h

  • B52 is slightly better, okay.

But those massive propellers are way cooler than anything on a B52!

  • Nowhere the range? With internal fuel, the Tu-95 only has 200 miles more range. But With external fuel pods, the B52 has more range! B52 also flies higher and faster. B-52 carries 3 times more payload!!! Sorry, more altitude + more speed + faster climb/dive + more range with fuel pods + WAY more payload = better plane. B-52 wins

  • No offense to anyone, but who is the token black guy at the 5:02 mark? Edi Amin? I have researched this and can find no answers.

  • I meant the :52

  • big bear

  • @yousawthis: this is not slow motion

    search: Startende Tupolew Tu-95MS

  • In the 70`s, the Americans had the "Spacelab". The enourmous project sadly lost it`s foundings, and was closed. Not only bechause of the budgetcuts, but allso bechause of the technology they had at that time. The "change" in Russia later, became an uppertunity. Russia had, and still has, the best knowledge of living in space! So the "International Spacestation" or ISS, is in fact Russia, helping USA with ultratech. As an Norwegian, I think nations must cooperate better, arroganse is falldown.

  • I lol'd

  • Jepp

  • Those turbocontraprops look so great.

  • Its funny how the us has always been known for having "the biggest" of everything. Russia poses as a seiouse rival in that category, and I think Russia would win!

  • The Soviet Union had a brilliant Space-based nuclear weapon, the Fractional Orbital Bombardment System(fobs), housed on a SS-18 R-36 Rocket it could strike anywhere

  • The Russians have produced a lot of different quality stuff. Maintenance is a different thing, but that is, I guess more of a political problem. Even when the first American came to the Russian spacestation MIR, he was amazed that the drinking water there was cleaner than in is own tap at home! But most things produced in Russia, has a "rough" quality for rough environment. And of the best planes has been designed and buildt there, with maybe spies inside, both ways, USA/ Russia..

  • @ingareinar007 America and Russia both have different ways of getting things done and both are highly effective in their own way. The US tend to invest a great deal into a project to get the best result - and do. Russia on the other hand have perfected the art of producing the highest possible result from off the shelf technology and are probably the best in the world in that regard. Credit to both.

  • @ingareinar007 Russians have always put simplicity and effectivity at first place.

I can't personally say a bad word about Quality, it have been always perfect (although stuff was simple). For example, my dad still own 60 years old russian volga in perfect condition (any errors that occured over decades were easy to fix, right on the route). My mom still have Eta blender that works perfectly over 40 years with multiple blades. Same with electronics and just about anything they created. Respect.

  • @thomaspruzina Agree. I've got a 40 year old wristwatch (Raketa), and 25 year old camera (Zenit). Simple, elegant, reliable. It's a real shame that so much of the Soviet design and production facilities have disappeared, as there was some seriously good products made, regardless of prejudices in the west. My family in the UK ran an entire photographic studio company using Soviet equipment, from cameras to cars.

  • The band is called "Edguy" and the song is "Wings of a dream"

  • Hey, who knows wich band and song name is as background musik on this bear clip?

  • It says it in the Description.

  • the coolest part is at 1:59 slow motion.

  • TU-95 very beautiful and powerful plane!

  • yep, the missile in the end is TLAM

  • best plane ever!!!!!!!!

  • It may be a fantastik plane BUT the noisyest plan of the world, so noisy it can be heard from a submerged submarine!

  • seen on discovery channel :)

  • yeah I just read the other day that it is super noisy, I wonder what it is like to be a pilot for one!

  • most of the former crews are deaf!!!

  • Can anyone prove or disprove this with web links: some submarine crews claim they could hear the Bear overhead if they were near the surface no matter what the plane's altitude! If that's true, then damn that thing is LOUD!

  • check out my video response and decide for yourself; I live 'next door' to an air base and I see planes like this every day at different altitudes. This damn thing is EXTREMELY loud when it's flying low (on landing approach, like in my video, or below radar looking for American carrier groups) but you can hardly hear it flying several miles above even if you're walking right under it. But the soundman in the sub will definitely hear it anyway.

  • @starlionblue Thats bullshit, you can't hear a helicopter on top of you sometimes.

  • @starlionblue: The guy on the Sonar sure could hear it, it IS ones of the loundest planes ever buildt. I think in fact, it is THE loudest.

  • @Helge129 yeah, the b-36 and the xb-70 with zip fuel were reputed to be louder but im sure no one ever lined the three of them up and... listened. Plus the xb-70 never went into production and the b-36 was a cold war oddity at best. The bear is probably the loudest in current use and it is generally the one bestowed with the title of "loudest." With its counter rotating turboprops im sure it sounds the coolest. It's interesting that it shares the same b-29 heritage with the b-36.

  • crucial to producing even supersonic air trust with CR props is the fact that two CR blades that are about to meet at near-supersonic speed in absolute terms, *relative to each other* are actually approaching each other at a speed that is way above supersonic. so if the first blade pushes the air at say 800 km/h the second one can give it a ferocious 2nd slap because it actually hits the moving air at 1600+ km/h. the tu 95 could go supersonic no prob without its props' blades going supersonic.

  • the loudest plane on earth

  • i take it that you have seen the real thing

  • info internet

  • Delta Daggers, Phantoms, Falcons, Eagles and eventually Raptors and Lightning II's! I'm not sure if the Russians have resumed their 'training' missions over the pole, but for one aircraft that is an IMPRESSIVE record of longivity! What an amazing airplane.

  • russia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • A formidable aircraft indeed. Not to mention that it flies with outstanding grace...

  • Hopefully the highdef tag worked!

Seems like it! Sounds great on new speakers.

    This video doesn't get old.

  • This video is fantastic. I love the TU-95 Bear. Is there anyway to download this video in case it is somehow lost from you tube?

  • I love the Tu-95, so coooooool !!

  • I've always dug the BEAR...I'm a former P3C ordie, myself...

  • I love this plane!

  • belive it or not there used to be a civil version of this plane...

  • yes, but it didn't fly for a long time

  • yeap.

eleven hours from moscow to havanna

  • best looking plane ever. though, I heard it is so loud that they used sonars to detect them!

  • Yeah, they used the submarines sonars to spot them sometimes :D

  • it was aable to shatter windows at 35000ft when all engines were running at 100% power

  • Nice bomber and super music. Very good job!

  • Love it @ 00:59 when switching to the rotating propellers, and the refrain kicks in. Perfect match

  • wouldn't believe how noisy these things are..

  • This video is amazing, the Soviet Union Armed Forces fucking rocked!

  • nice bus

  • Russia Rocks! I think we should stop fighting each other and just buil sick ass aircraft and race each other for bragging rights or money. Think about it. No more bombs, lets just grit it out for first place in the skies.

  • to bad Americans are biggots and egotistical twats :S but Russia has taken the title of biggest non nuclear bomb in the world aply named FOAB >_>

  • Which song is this?

  • Damn I feel like i need a mullet to get into this song.

  • lol brown are not people

  • However, it's funny to wonder how I'd feel about this same plane if it was used over my head for its intended purpose...

And as far as those eternally boring, geeky, and hopelessly inconclusive arguments about whether it's better or worse than the B-52: Nobody gives a shit. Capitalism and communism are both wrong, and russians, americans, and brown people we are all the same.

  • Part vintage, part modern, and all Mean n' Awesome! This is my favourite bomber, ever since I first knew about it made me think of a dream-like cross between a sleek "ordinary" airplane as-everybody-knows-them with a giant metallic insect, like out of some sci-fi bizarre alternative civilization.

Great video-music combo, though at times I think the music and scene could've been better/differently coordinated, but still a total rush! (sec. 0:59 is glorious).

  • It maybe old, but it is majestic.

  • last i heard the russians plan to fly over an american aircraft carrier with the Buran

  • Tu 95 is 50 year's old !!!!!!!!!!

  • So is the B-52 Long live Туполев Ту-95

  • Old but kicking american capitalist pig ass ;)

  • Russian Cold War aircraft were the best because they put the fear of God into anything alive.

  • Soviet cold war aircraft. Soviet.

  • I love Russians! Still got Cold War sour grapes?

USSR planes penetrate US airspace at will?

We see the Bear coming from a mile and the TU-160 is nice one paper but its untested and there are ONLY 18 of them active(less than that fully operational)

SR-71 made look silly and we deactivated it...makes ya think....

  • 1 to get threw is enough, did you ever see the movie "Fail Safe".

  • Very high range I heard there was a incedent with an american carrier somewhere in the pacific.

  • the last time anything sound so good on take was the b36.and it gone.russian dont dump a good plane..prop lover..

  • there are better bombers than that! dont be ignorant

  • TU-160 is the best bomber in the world but the TU-95 is second!

  • dude dont forget that tu 95 r in service for like 50 yrs now while tu 160 is officially in service 4 3 yrs

  • Best in the world?

I would argue that the MOST effective bomber would be the b1 lancer. Not as fast as the tu-160, but much more stealthy.

  • not true... reports and officials say the TU-160 has a much smaller RCS than the B1 plus the TU-160 has far more payload

  • What on earth makes you think that a T-160 has a smaller RCS than a B-1?

  • umm... US brass and officials say so tard

  • Hah! Find me that quote please! All you have to do is look at the Tu-160's inlets to see that thing has a hudge RCS. Tu-160 is an awesome intercontinental cruise missile platform, probably better than than the B-1B because of its range and payload, but the B-1B is a better penetration bomber with a smaller RCS.

  • Regardless of which bomber has lower RCS, the Tu-160 can reportedly penetrate North American air space at will.

US needs to let NATO and EU worry about radars in Europe for early warning and spend it's efforts back on North American soil and with Canada, if it thinks it needs more air/missile Detection capability.

BTW, Russia is owning Europe and US combined on new long-range detection radars, so thats something to consider too.

  • i found it on a online news agency site... but hey regardelss of which has smaller RCS... Russian and the US both have 2 types of bombers that are in same field... TU-95 / B-52... and TU-160 / B1-B

  • the B1B is like a brick compared to the TU160

  • what is the music ?

  • Edguy - Wings of a Dream

  • too russian

  • Those monsters has increased the overflyings of international airspace and has been close to danish airspace several times. I'm in the airforce, and one of my friends was intercepting and escorting them away from our airspace. He said that he couldnt imagine how it must be to fly those things, the contrarotating propellers makes so much noise that my freind could easily hear it inside a F-16 cockpit.

  • yeah very noisy aircraft. its often for the crew to become deaf flying the tu-95

  • Russian Red Machine

    is it good sound?

  • Awesome plane.

  • The aircraft is nice, but I want to get my hands on one of those old(?) Russian-built convertible parade cars. They look like what a 1957 Packard may have become if American Motors hadn't sucked up the Packard Car Company. Imagine the trouble getting replacement parts to keep one road-worthy.

By the way, are those dual counter-rotating propellers on that plane?

  • yes

the bear had them so she could go as fast, if not faster than her contemporary jets!

  • press topol dum b ass you tub e

  • see ss-300 or su 30 or fac k see i n net du m ba ss

  • they are called a Zil...they mimiced large american cars of that era

  • Beautiful Ship.

  • Soundtrack? Edguy? tell plz!

  • yes Edguy - Wings of a Dream

  • thanks man! nice material by the way

  • Grand video comrade

  • these bombers will retire in 2040. this means they will have had been in service for almost a century.

  • yep, pretty insane.
