Part two for godofthisshit. Kirosaki's book came out years after he started working with my rich relative. My dad spent his days working and his nights reading and studying and going to seminars. He spent the first 25 years struggling as a barber. The next 25 years driven to add to his knowledge. He did very well. I have heard that some who license 'Rich Dad' brand are pushy and greedy. His books say don't follow someone blindly. Don't do any investing unless you know it inside and out.

Hello godofthisshit. In response to your question about my dad and the Rich Dad Poor Dad book, I will make two posts. My dad was a fan of both Kirosaki and Trump. It was not always so though. He struggled to keep bills paid, a roof over our heads and food on the table. He was the "Poor Dad" in the books. He began working for my 'Rich Dad' who was a relative. My dad learned to change his thinking and then his actions. He was very knowledgable later in life on commercial leasing.

Someone mentioned they believe he always puts academics down. That is incorrect. If you listen he always says academics are very important. He himself has a college degree. His point is that a degree is not necessary to be good in business or investing. His other point is that having a professional degree will not make you financially successful. It is your education on investing that determines that. My dad never finished the 8th grade. He did extremely well in real estate development.

I've read his books, and two of Ken McElroy's multi-family real estate books in the Rich Dad's Advisor series. I think many people are expecting the Rich Dad, Poor Dad book to do things it wasn't meant to. It's meant to comb thruone's mind and get their overall philosophy about money straight, such as buy assets, then use the proceeds to buy your toys (and more assets). Don't buy the book and expect to have exact formulas, just as you wouldn't buy a pick-up truck and expect it to dig holes.
