@davailbg generally many Avestan words are the same as in Kurdish, the pronunciation is a bit different. But I only speak Kurmanci, You should find someone who speaks Zaza,Gorani or Sorani, they have more similar words.

If you want to investigate waht could be language of Proto-Bulgarians, I sugest you to analyze language of Volga Bulgarians , so called Tatars.Which is last remain of that Proto-bulgarians ( your anciestors).

There are not any mystery. The language of the great-Bulgarians was Sarmatian, not Turkic! Turkic theory of the origin of the Bulgarians is false. That the Serbs are talking about some Tatars shows how little you know about the history of the steppes, Volga Bulgaria and the Turks!

According to historical chronicles Scythians were blond with blue eyes. This may have been liaison with European Scythians. In the east, where there are mountains Pamir, Altai and Hindokush in antiquity lived Asian Scythians called by the Persians Sakа, and other called Masageti or Alani. One Sakа tribe were Bulgarians - Hiona. These eastern Iranian tribes were similar to Persians, with white skin, black or brown hair with black, brown or blue eyes.

Volga Bulgarians in 1920 was called violent Tatarstan. In appearance they resemble the Bulgarians in Bulgaria on the Danube. They are Eastern Mediterraneans! According to historical data and according to surnames in Russia, the main part of the Volga Bulgarians after the invasion of Mongol-Tatars in the 13th century became part of the Russian aristocracy. The language of Volga Bulgaria was under the influence of kipchak language.

I do not know detailed Kurdish language, but there are many similar words with Bulgarian language.
Bulgarian language is generally very close to Sanskrit and Avestan languages.
I think the Kurds are mesopotamians that have adopted the Iranian language.

"Tatars" after that became name for non-Mongol conquered peoples that was derogatory name for those the Horde used as cannon fodder. Tatar is a useless name, like "American" cannot tell u the origin of a person, because it a general name, not specific to one group or an ethnicity.
Different "Tatars" all over Asia & Europe, those in Tatarstan are majority Bulgarian, minority are Mongols (leftovers for Horde)

Bulgarian language comes from the slavic people who were the Serbs - Slavs were so numerous that one probable theory was that all the slavs were called Serbs.
Serbs too have a bigger vocabulary than the other slavic countries, having two words for the same thing. e.g. Pas / kuče for dog. Compare the ancient Tocharian word list with a Serbian dictionary and you will see many similarities. The ones that are not similar are most probably Celtic.

For example the modern Macedonian language has over 500 000 words and for the other people it's very hard to learn it, comparing to some language like the English language which has around 20 000 words.
If you compare our language with the languages of the Hunza/Kalash people in Pakistan you will find many similar words like Shaka, Dozhd, Ide....

@TsarSamuil Bulgarians speak a Serbian dialect. All these words in the video are known and used in Serbian. Bulgarian is grouped with south slavs, not with east slavs. There is no need for us to pretend because we are supermen. A Bavarian geographer said that the possibly all slavs were called Serbs. Serbs and the Sorbs from Germany are the last ones to retain the name which is an accomplishment in itself. Whilst, you were taken over by the Turkic tribes.

@sneighwena, Bulgarian language is a branch of the EAST-SLAVIC LANGUAGE GROUP, our Slavic language came from EAST SLAVS, not Serbs! Prior to Balkans we had Magna Bulgaria state that was situated in the Caucasus north of Armenia and west in UKRAINE. Proto-Bulgarians lived with EAST SLAVS for a LONG TIME before even coming to the Balkans, long before proto-Bulgarians even met Serbs! We came here through Dobrudja, EASTERN BALKANS, unlike you! Bulgarian = southEAST Slavic language, capish Serb?

Not bad. Keep in mind, there is a reason why the group is called Indo-European languages. The more I learn about Sanskrit and the proto-Indo-European language, the more I see it in Bulgarian. Words like "огън", "тава", "жив", "виждам" come to mind (I plan to make a list, but haven't yet). Also - the numbers (Wikipedia compares them with the West European). Pretty simple Otherwise, if we, the Bulgarians come from Pamir and the area, it makes sense to have language similar to the languages there.
