  • SCARED THE SHIT OUT OF ME LARRY..!!!!!

  • nice,, now stop scaring us n fly in an OPEN field lol

  • would it not be cheaper and safer to use hip waders?

  • @snellbill398 Yeah.. But it wouldn't be nearly as cool!

  • i almost had some heart attacks while learning rc helicopter ^^

learning to fly something like that must be really scary at first .

  • i was with you every second! fly well my intrepid aviator!

  • Nice flying. I once heard a saying comparing helicopters to airplanes, that a helo is like riding a uni-cycle while juggling. Looks tough.

  • You CRAZAAAYY!

  • You, Larry, are a BRAVE Larry...

  • At-a-boy Larry

  • I really think sharing your flying experience is great. Thank you.

  • Dont let the IRS know you have it. They would charge you by the feet you fly and per youtube video.

  • looks like you have learned the fine art of hovering....welcome to the heli world my friend!

  • how much money made this thing ?

  • very well done i wonder if i wanna create a helicopter like this can i use a chainsaw or scooter engine 50 cmc >7000 rpm

  • awsome well doe..

  • Do you need a helicopter private pilot license for these things???

  • @lkdjsnvlmksd One of the last freedoms left in the USA - IF YOU follow the rules under FAA Title 14, part 103. God Bless America. Land of the free, home of the brave.

  • @LarryCanFly You would HAVE to be brave to fly that thing. Is there any maintenance schedule on the moving parts, or does one just count on crashing it before it disintegrates from normal use?

  • looks fun as hell.....

  • How long before you're commuting back and forth to work on this thing?!

  • On a separate note, that's a beautiful piece of property you have there!

  • How much does a tank of fuel cost?

  • LOOKS LIKE PARADISE! I WANNA GET ONE OF THESE! I don't know how 12 people could dislike THIS!!!

  • BRAVO!!!!

    I WANT OTHER!!

  • I prefer a solid cabin around my fragile ass.

  • 1 of the better ways to go out after a stock market crash.

  • Great !!!!! Nice to see a guy actually living the dream !!

  • WOW, I cannot believe you are still alive. If you had any kind of common sense you would go spend more than 10 hours of dual in an R22 before actually flying this thing. That 2 stroke engine is not ideal for running constant at high RPM and when it quits, there is no way you're going to pull off asuccessful auto. Get some REAL formal training...save your life.

  • I guess you would need a full helicopter education/licence and such before you are even allowed to go into one of these?

  • Really nice!! Did you design and build it by yourself?

  • @shashair Thanks, no, John Uptigrove designed it and offers a kit.

  • @shashair just take it slow, read read, practice, talk to pilots,if you want to do this and be safe, learn learn, safety. There are a lot of pilots that have been flying a long time, everyday is a learning experience.

  • Just curious, what's the price tag on one of those things?

  • @regcav87 About $30k

  • @LarryCanFly Excuse me, but where DID you land?

  • Awesome videos and flying!! I have a few comment and questions. Comment on the camera--if you get an anti-vibration mount, your videos will be way smoother (or you can use software to remove some of the vibrations). Questions: if you have 20 years in planks and you did some training in an R-22, why not go for Mosquito XEL or one of the closed-cockpit versions? Safe flying and God bless.

  • @pi3k I'm actively looking for a solution to the video vibration, all suggestions are welcome. The XEL is great but I love flying slow WITHOUT a windshield! Try it and you will too. Over 35mph ski goggles are great. Skids and pontoons would be great. Also I like fuel in a easy to remove standard-gas-can that I can leave outside, the XEL has an integrated fuel tank. Thanks for your comment and questions! GB.

  • Just wondering why mosquito owners and other ultralight helicopters owners always stay at a low altitude, what is the reason for that?

  • @marinecorpsdd less distance to fall i bet lol

  • @marinecorpsdd One word: F U N ! :-))

  • Sweet. Very nice

  • thats freakin awesome man!

  • can you fly 3d yet ?

    lool

  • @UKWildlifeCameras Nope, I don't think so.

  • Larry it was awesome!

  • hey, what does the FAA say about this? is there an altitude restriction, do you have an onboard radio...? and how long of a flight can you get out of that marvelous machine? thanks for your help, it means alot! and good luck with your flying!

  • @SketchRC The FAA says (see Title 14, Part 103). Answers: 2) 10,000 feet, 3) Radio not required, 4) One hour. Thanks for your questions & comments, GB

  • Larry, gotta say it....YOU DA MAN!

  • We live thru you Larry......

  • Really freaking cool. Thanks a ton for sharing man!

  • pretty cool watching you go from ,.. bump, bump,.. too,. fly like an Eagle :0)

  • wow thats cool

  • where was this shot? looks like washington.

  • Absolute WOW !!!!! i want 1 of can I have ago haha where did you buy the kit from?

That must be such a huge rush flying that feel so free very nice video im so jelous ;-)

  • did you opened a flight plan for such a long trip ? :-)

Honestly, I admire you, and I really would like to be on your seat!

    My wish of safe landings!

  • why do all these novices fly around trees and such. madness. hover auto practise? for where, over the water??

  • great job!!! Im saving up for one!

  • What kind of licence to you need to fly this heli? Very interested.

  • Wow ! What great fun. I wish I had one too. Could fly it to work. What a nice place to live and learn to fly from. A river, an island and bush land. Perfect. Nice.... Do you still have this machine ? or have you moved on to a bigger one.?

  • great video --keep em coming

  • Well done/..........Coolest thing iv'e seen for a while......Welcome to the club!!!

  • fantastic hobby! I'm just a fresh ultralight pilot but this even more awsome! you built that thing yourself? wow! cool.

  • 10 days from first hover with training wheels to free as a bird (albeit a noisy one:), congratulations ! And you're making it hard on yourself by practicing in the woods. That must help to really focus your attention.

  • u have a briliebt mind like meeeeeeeeeeeeeee :D:D:D:D:D:D when i will free i will make 3 things heli , monster truck and a gun

  • GO LARRY!!!!!!

  • outstanding. outstanding.

  • Nice Larry! That would be a tremendous feeling.

  • Nice flying!

  • You sure seem to like flying close to things that remove main rotors Larry!

  • How much was the overall cost of this helicopter ?

  • SOOOOO cool!

  • awesome

  • Holy crap I didn't even see the guy sitting in the front of this thing, I thought it was RC until I looked at the comments.

  • Haha great video Man!! WEEEE MADE IT!!! :D

  • Wow, amazing control, honestly that mounted camera really let me feel how hard that was to control.

  • After I live a full life I might like to try that someday

  • @GregoryLog I understand, the thing is - we don't know the size of our tank and so don't know when it's full. :-(( And maybe it's not a fixed size. Maybe it can expand. I'm thinking maybe these crazy things I'm doing expands my life tank? "My cup expandeth, pour more." , LHB 8am,30May10 :-)

  • i hope you run out of gas soon

  • Larry your videos are almost as brilliant as your projects! [click] subscribed! :-)

  • I seriously respect you Larry. Learning by doing. From the videos you look to be going about it in a thorough and cautious manor. Disregard the nay-sayers who tell you you're going to get hurt - they have no imagination! If nobody took risks we would never have flown aeroplanes or helicopters. Keep it up mate.

  • It seems like people are upgrading from cars to helicopter now lol. i gues i am kinda late my self i need to upgrade as soon as possible.

  • Fly be free! You seemed like you had good control, just always remember to have an out planned whenever you can in case the engine decides to quit on you. Even us commercial guys are always expecting the worse with 10,000 parts flying in formation ready to break apart!

  • Whats the price of the helicopter and do you need pilot license for it???

  • @lenteboom Kit $25k, pro building $5k, the ultralight version like this one, operated under FAA FAR Part 103, is one of the last vestiges of freedom left in the world, right here in the USA (land of the free, home of the brave).

  • its home of the brave land of the free :3

  • @LarryCanFly for how long? the crazies say we're the crazy for exercising our right to fly. One thing constant about people, my friend is that they always want to tell other people what is right and wrong. That's why we need to keep the religious nuts out of our schools and why our 2nd amendment rights are so important.

  • how much did it cost

  • oh lord, this looks like so much fun. congrats and best wishes ahead!!

  • I really want one of these little choppers. Where can I buy one and how much do they cost? I don't really want to build it from parts. Do they come preassembled?

  • hope i can try flying that thing someday.. help me God^^

  • @TheMananggit You can fly it someday .. because God is inside you - but he helps only if you help. So get going man.

  • Ummm, don't you have an OVAL nearby?

  • Yeah dude! great job, keep flyin!

  • Hey, Larry

Don't fly so slow over that river- I'm sure there's at least one bass that can take you down. haha

Your videos are great. You have a fan.

  • I'm impressed. That is one crazy rig. My neighbors would shoot me down.

  • Good grief! Don't give 'em any ideas! I'm counting on the wine to calm and appease them ( see: larry flies to Phyllis's farm, and a video titled "Thanks for the wine") ----

BTW everyone, thanks for your comments. They make my day!

    -larry,

  • hahaha this is great stuff ,thanx larrycanfly

  • WTG gr8 stuff

  • Sweet!

  • Really cool!

  • you survived the learning curve!

  • Very cool! I think you need a cam that's a frame-grabber, not a line grabber.

  • i give you shit

  • wow, that would be scarry till you got the hang of it. very cool ride. fly safe=)

  • no kidding, not even room for an instructor to correct you if you mess up!

  • i am so jealous . i have something to work towards. were do you live. is this near a city?

  • very impressive :) I wish mI could build such a helicopter :(

  • u could build it =D its not hard come with kit just put it together and fly safe...

  • I think a large meadow would be a better place to learn. Are there no places like this around. Flying won't kill you but trees may...

  • OMG That thing is so cool! Thanks for the upload, really great video -even if the quality wasn't the best.

Hope to see more, and be safe in that thing!

  • You take brave to a new standard man... i bend in the dust!

  • HOW MUCH WERE CAN I GET ONE ??

  • what you have to do is pull the cyclic really fast up

  • V--holy shit lots of spelling mistakes

  • Comment removed

  • no you havent its illegal to do any of those at your age you cant skydive till 18 or base jump

  • @TJ5897

    You are a retard.

Skydiving is 18 and base jumping is illegal. IDIOT.

  • i want one!

  • Larry, How much was your mosquito ultralight total? And did you build it yourself, buy in kits, or buy pre-assembled if you don't mind me asking? Also, in future vids, could you possibly take us viewers on an adventure maybe flying above the river but still following it?

    Thanks,

    B

  • $25K, kit. I always want a place I can land safely when the engine quits. I'll look for sections of rivers with good landing places near it after I get more confidence in doing autos. My primary goal at this point is to survive and not break my machine - so I can fly more and more again and again!

  • thats not alot (lol)

  • I would be paranoid about forgetting not to stick my hands in the air.

  • Absolutely! A must! Lots of lessons, with an instructor, flying a real helicopter! 11 hours of dual in R22 on top of 30 years of flying ultralights + R/C + every book, magazine, and website I could find, and still it took me many hours of practice in my Mosquito to hover well. I'm just starting out with a lot more to learn - wish I started sooner. I'm also building a simulator now based on x-plane so I can practice more things. Flying a helicopter is the MOST challaging AND the MOST FUN!!

  • did you take flying lessons

  • great huge balls you have!!! and looks like a beautiful home.

  • how many hours or should I say minutes can you fly that thing before it runs out of fuel?

  • Depends. About around an hour.

  • oh upon looking more i see you had 10 hrs in a r22

  • Yes, ... 11 now, and more to come. Can't get too much training!

  • KICK ASS LARRY. I've been watching your diary. Bravo.

  • is that one and ultralight, cause i see 2 tanks, or r those 2 2.5gallon tanks

  • Yes, 5 gallons total.

  • how much do they cost and how do i get one!!!!??? haha:)

  • Checkout Innovator Technology up in Canada! Where you are!:-))

  • $20k-$30k if you buy one new. if you actually know wtf you are doing with aviation and metal working, maybe $5k and build it yourself..

  • i seen some helicopters for $12k but

it was'nt an ultralight it was enclosed

  • Congratulations on crossing the river!!!

    Jones

  • Larry has left the nest...

The world will never be the same again...

    Thanks Larry!

Loved the tail rotor vantage point!

  • Maybe its a small step for us viewers. But its a giant leap for you :) Could not resist good flight 5/5

  • Scary! LOL! Well, good news is you have more confidence :) Nice flying!
