  • This was sang by an Albanian singer Inva Mula.

  • I heard that on 1:06 it is her real voice, they just used a wind instrument at the exact same time to heighten her voice and give it a more 'unhuman' feel to it! If you listen close enough it sounds like a flute too! :D

  • @HappyXHaineko It was a clarinet (don't know how to spell it).

  • @bexie1992 Oh...I was sort of close. Their both wind instruments. :)

  • I had a sampler in the 90's and when using sampled human voices it sounded exactly like in 1:14 -1 :17 specially if you go out of your sample range. Very fake because there's no glissando and the volume is constant. I can't believe the producers lied about not using electronics in this part.

  • brilianant

  • the mask magician crew . thumb up!

  • I know it's Inva Mula who are singing this song from the Fifth Element and not Maïwenn Le Besco :) Inva Mula is a Albanina Opera Soprano born in Tirana if ya want to know hehe :)

  • They actually used 5 diferent sopranos. (which is why it sounds all mix-y) All real voices, just mixed together.

  • what most people dont realize is, this is one of the most outstanding vocal perfrmances of the 20th century

  • @MtnCommando believe it or not this film and her song was made in the 90ts

  • @UKUndergroundHeaven ummm, the 90's was the 20th century buddy

  • Comment removed

  • @MtnCommando LOL

  • @UKUndergroundHeaven HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH. you fucking idiot

  • But it's Maïwenn Le Besco, who played Diva Plavalaguna in the fifth element and it's her who are singing this song :) She is better then Laura :p

  • @MoodMan35

nope, it was Inva Mula who sang the song, not the actress.

  • Is 1:06 real? Someone here said it was edited. Is that true?

  • @ShineSpark88 yo its real belive it or not , its so crazy

  • @ShineSpark88 A lot of it is genuine. But there are some obvious parts of what seems to be a wind instrument dubbing over her voice.

  • @ShineSpark88 Na dude, real voice brah....Peopl that that dude in Underworld's voice was altered too, the lycan named "Raze"

  • could you send me this song, I love it and I can not have it. my email is:

    sonia.rosalina@live.com.pt

  • @AcuAwaGomu lol no its a woman! Inva Mula ;)

  • @AcuAwaGomu lol, fail.... no it's Inva Mula

  • @AcuAwaGomu Fail troll fails.

  • @anrkeyproductions diddnt mean to be a troll i just got misinformed. sorry.

  • Perfect! I love it wonderful.... It's ..... -shit- bombastic!!!

  • FUCK!! I LOVE IT

  • is it sad that the first time I heard this song was an animation with Luigi singing it? XD

  • @starwars96 THE Luigi ? From Super Mario Bros. ?

PS: Superb clear my ass. Search "Inva Mula - The Diva Dance (PLEASE, READ THE DESCRIPTION)" - it's probably on the right side anyway.

  • @zDSpider lol yeah. From a flash called "Mario's fifth element 1up"

  • 0:56 it went gaga all of a sudden! LOL!

  • I almost shit my pants at 1:06 when I didn't know that they overdubbed it and edited and stuff. BUT, She's still one of the best singers out there, ever.

  • I know I dont have the voice to this sing this song, but I do it anyway. Lol. Operas would more interersting if they sang like this. This movie is awesome. Basically, we are all the 5th element, right?

  • Kickass tune! It's the sort of song i listen to when i'm playing Call of Duty or Rainbow Six: Vegas =-D

  • @RisingDampChamp what else do you listen to? I mean the same style

  • Song for the 21 Century

  • @IanasAnd 23rd actually ;)

  • Some epic battle to the death video needs to be made with this song.

  • Best song ever of the 90's

  • If you like this, watch Laura sing it. She is brilliant.

  • god yeah she is the best !!!

  • @lawenforce She's not brilliant. She kicks it's ass.

  • @lawenforce

Have watched it before this... really amazing... but can´t put a commentary to it.. -.-

Dont´t know why... maybe in a few minutes...

  • Deeem at 1:07 she busted that alien noise!!!!! which was awesome!!!!!

  • LOL naaah dats her real voice :P

  • Gah I feel like a biotch to burst your bubble on this but that is actually a wind instrument, it was stated in the special edition of the movie. But everything is her, which is incredible :D

  • @DemonGirl009 the wind instrument comes in to fill the parts where it changes really quickly right?

  • @LeonaRulez Yup =) right at 1:07, its also to make her voice sound more alien like

  • XD wish i could do that with muh voice, id be doin it in school and all that other crap.

  • This is the best opera song EVA!!!

I like it; the movie too!

  • best movie eva! Long Live Chris Tucker!!!!!

  • A best song with no negative qualities in my opinion... Cheers!

  • Truly beautiful

  • incredible.

  • nice

  • thanks alot mate truly a precious find

    cheers

    ahmad

  • search Vitas he's a rusian that sings,he sings this song:)

  • In the movie The 5th Element, the opera singer first sings il dolce suono, which Vitas also sings. Then the singer in The 5th Element starts to sing THIS song, The Diva Dance, which vitas DOES NOT sing.

  • omgomgomg..thank you for telling me the first part of the song!! i've been looking for it like crazyyyy..thabnk you so much i love youuuu..

  • Haha, no problem :D Glad I could help.

  • Watch disneydiva7 singing this!! You will NOT be dissapointed! Seriously- all those of you saying it cannot be done by a human voice, watch her video xD It's the 4th one down in the 'Related videos' list. And it is AMAZING!

  • The video of me singing this should be up next week, sorry for the delay xD xD My Dad's taken some time off work so I can't sing it yet lol

  • Her voice is BRILLIANT! Love it. It's beautiful and amazing. Inva Mula has such an FANTASTIC voice- so clear and amazing. MUSH BETTER the Sarah Brightman's, in my opinion.

  • Brightman isn't even a opera singer, you can't even compare, Inva is in a completly different level

  • I was talking about when someone said this was Brightman- Inva's voice is MUCH BETTER then Brightman's, mainly BECAUSE Brightman isn't an opera singer.

  • yes I undertand, I was just stating that Inva's voice is so greater then hers that you can't even compare

  • was sung by Albanian soprano Inva Mula-Tchako, while the role of Plavalaguna was played by French actress Maïwenn Le Besco

  • her name is Maïwenn Le Besco

  • .... <3

  • lovelovelove it!!!

  • I luiv that song.

  • Oh she can, because she is an alien xP

  • lol

  • Maiwenn Le Besco is the actress who plays the diva. The actual singer is Inva Mula-Tchako. No human could sing the middle part from about 1:00 because the human voice cannot change notes that quickly. She sang each note individually, which were recorded and digitally resequenced at the proper tempo. While they could have digitally altered her voice, THEY DID NOT. That really IS her voice. It sounds synthesized, but that's simply an 'artifact' of resequencing.

  • Thank you :) Lots of people think they digitally altered her voice, but you are very correct.

  • @spearm64 youre an idiot... the human voice CAN change notes and laura proves you wrong..idiot.

  • Laura sing really really great I love her singing but comme on the 1:06 part is imposible to sing. She sings that part but not exactly as it is.

  • @js100serch i think in the movie the did a synthisiser to get it more smooth sounding. but damn both versions are killer!

  • @js100serch If you think the part at 1:06 is impossible, listen to the following opera arias: 1) "Der hölle rache" from the Magic Flute 2) "Bell song" from Lakme 3) Doll song from "The tales of Hoffman". There are other opera arias that feature vocal acrobatics (e.g. Ombra leggiera..), but I think one or more of these three will do.

  • It's actually part-digitalised. There is a moment when the vocals sound just like a synthetiser sampler (around 1:00). That's digital. The rest, mostly, is human singing.

  • whats the womans name

  • Sarah Brightman

  • Nope.

  • Sarah will need to reborn 3 times to sing like this

  • haha!!! i guess you're right. but someone told me it was sarah brightman.

  • This was not made by a computer, it was sung. It is a very specialised type of voice training. Look on the DVD extras with the interview with the singer if you don't believe it.

  • The song was recorded by human voice, but the ranges present in the mix was digitally altered in order to reach many of the notes.

  • Love It!

  • How did you get this song?

  • You're right!! I can do the notes, it's not a problem, so they are not impossible. But I know that the speed of some parts of this song is really impossible.

  • this was always my favorite! Thank you for this!

  • eee! ive been looking for this everywhere. s'amazing!

  • The tones she is reaching is real... its the fast tone switches that is impossible. Amazing still!

  • its computerized. O.o

  • Remember though, she is an alien. That's why she can make those quick pitch changes in her voices.

  • i love this song! its amazing... is she singing all of that or is there some computer-changed help for her wonderful voice?

  • i love it 2 .. but it is humanly impossible to shift between notes this fast ...there s a lot of computer editing in it .

  • no its not humanly impossible...

  • yes some of this notes are impossible to sing together ^^

  • i ve been in 3 different choruses for the past 6 years( and still).i m trained by phd in music. i have a " tenor" voice = i can hit high notes. so

when i say it cannot be performed ,i know what i m talking about. no human has this wide range in his voice( the extreme ups and downs).. the closest human voice to this performance is mariah carey's voice. she s got the widest voice in all human recorded history (from a study done by 3 phd music teachers in nationnal geographic channel). get it ?

  • Mariah Carey's voice has the widest range in recorded human history? :| That's aload a tripe!

  • my dear.

when i said this , i wasen't inventing anything.. it was published in " GUINESS WORLD RECORD BOOK"...and she was honnored by the prince of monaco 4 this .

  • If you get the DVD that came out it shows the lady who sings this! she has a very wide range and she can pull the notes that aren't compurtized!

  • You are absolutely correct! it's made by a comp.

  • thanks .....at last someone who understands what s going on !....i like the song but it s maide by a computer. and he , who says no , plz, bring me a live performance of the same song by any HUMAN from our planet ! or even a close version.

  • The National Geographic Channel... Most of the programmes have some crap about Geography and the climate, not music... Inva Mula sung EVERY note herself- on the DVD you have an interveiw with her and she talks about the special vocal training she's been having since she was about 5.

I can sing this song all the way through- all the notes and everything. It's not actually as hard as it sounds. Of course, I sound like crap, lol xD, but I can still sing it... xD

  • well , i ll go along with u .

if u say so, plz youtube yourself singing it and let us be the judge of how easy this can be .

u can " sing this song all the way through- all the notes and everything "....lol....YES U CAN ! in your dreams !

  • I will :)

I can sing it, but badly, as I said 'I sound like crap, lol xD, but I can still sing it... xD'. I wasn't saying: THIS SONG IS EASY TO SING! IT'S SO EASY! I CAN DO IT! HECK- A 2 YEAR OLD COULD DO IT!, was I? lol

And I'll put the video of myself singing it up (hopefully) either today or tomorrow. Those are the days I have the house to myself lol xD

    Hope you'll watch it xD

  • i m waiting .

    and i m all ears !!!

  • Cool! Also, I've found a video of someone singing it, so here's something for you to listen to while I get ready to do it! youtube(dot)com/watch?v=bgo0CDL6bd0

ANd the video should hopefully be up tomorrow! :D

  • i couldn't log to the address that u gave me ...plz be sure of what it is and resend it to me.

  • Well, it's uk(dot)youtube(dot)com/watch?v=bgo0CDL6bd0

If any gaps appear in the address, then get rid of them xD

  • Mariah? AHUAhUAHUAH, you got to be kidding, Izma Sumack kick Mariah 3 generations in voice, plz...

  • Yes. It is.

  • I agree with sxychicofdoom

  • If only they would make soundtracks that good these day...i mean this song was perfect....they should have mad more!!

  • Opera + techno = LOVE

  • good

  • Wow! thx for removing that annoying fight music in the background

  • the stones are in me honey.

  • THIS IS PERFECTIONNNNN!!!!!!!!!!OH MY GOD HOW BEAUTIFUL VOICE,,,SO WELL,SO PERFECT.......my God....

  • Inva mulla is awesome!

  • this part of the song must be longer this is cool and nice

  • Ohhhkay who cares about the specifics of names . she's amazing no matter what her name is. her name could be gungadin for all I care. 5 stars :)

  • wrong!! the woman who was recorded for the movie is Inva mulla, this is the movie version, Marie Eve Munger did a cover of the song in person to show that it can be done, but this specific recording is Inva

  • now if only operas were more like this...

  • if they were like this it wouldn't be opera... Opera is a history tell with singing and acting, not some crazy techno fuss

  • this is only part of the song, this is where she is emoting just like they do in opera, listen to the first part, then you'll get your story telling...

  • I know... Im replying to a coment saying that all operas should be like that, if that happens there would be no opera.

  • her name is inva mula

  • Everybody knows that this voice is manipulated, but does it changes something? :D

    I love this! ;)

  • holy fuc that is one amazing singer

  • Whoever the singer is, she one an amazing soprano singer. She has very good control on her voice in the high pitches and the long notes.

  • Actually, this was done by opera singer Inva Mula-Tchako. Perhaps her voice was edited for the notes in such fast succession, but she -was- the voice for this song and Donnizetti's Lucia Di Lammermoor before it.

  • Ohh. Hmm. I heard somewhere that it was completely computer-generated. OK then.

  • it is all her natural voice, occasionally pieced together to get the perfectly staccato tonal transitions from chest-head-whistle ranges

  • no not i saw an show of her somwjhere elseon the internet inva mula-tchako the diva dance and she is this fast jeez and somebody else did it also but her voice was like a peeping mouse-.-

  • luv techno and this type of music so its a new and diffrent type we can all love! Thanks for the wonderful amv.Ur on my faves!

  • The closest place for music like this all the time is called Vocal Trance on site called di . fm

  • it's very beautiful, but mixing elements of techno with such a amazing voice, is something new.
