  • howd it feel having things touching up against your eye, like the instruments and the drops, im extremely sensitive to things touching my eyes lol, eye drops are tough on me

  • the doctors would have to jam a pencil in my eye and hold it so it wouldn't move, im not kidding, my pupil would be moving in a circle like a headless chicken.

  • Did this hurt?

  • lol im blinking like crazy!

  • I have to get Lasik for my eyes because Im enlisting in the Army.

  • My Lasik Eye Surgery

  • You all have to remember this is a video from 5 years ago. Procedures have changed a TON since then. They don't use the "can opener" anymore. It's all done with light and lasers.

  • @TheTooSmooth yeah thats wat i thot i was watching kardashians (dont hate) and i didnt see any canopener

  • if i go for lasik eye surgery. is there any chance that i will get blind? please reply

  • If I never decided to join the military, I would get LASIK. I remember when I use to brag about my 20/20 vision during my younger years.

  • hmmm i want to get this done but i am so nervous bc it is my eyes... how much does this cost? ill be 26 in july and im sooo tired of wearing contact and glasses every year

  • @snscrispi cost depends, im from ireland the average cost is 550 euro............. per eye

  • I got this done, but as I was short sighted, and could take of my glassess for reading, I now need reading glasses as its like having permanently long vision. Now I feel older than I did before and I was in pain for about half an hour after. Not good result to be fair....

  • yeah I am gonna eat and shove carrots rather.

  • fuck computers and psp. i want my eyes back

  • @vodanh1941 Vision is not affected by LCD screens, believe it or not

  • I just had this procedure a couple of days ago. Honestly, the worst part was knowing what was happening. The "can opener", was probably the most stressful 5 seconds of my life, just because i knew what he was doing. If they hadn't told me they were cutting a flap in my eyeball, i wouldn't have been bothered at all, because there is minimal discomfort, and NO pain. The only medication i had was some numbing drops. they offered an anti-anxiety pill, which i declined.

  • how is the other side pov? did you saw the blade cutting it? and after cutting the cornea? how the world looks ? lol

  • fuck this.

  • My girlfriend is wearing glass noww, so i'm just wondering that will this last for life time? and how much was it?

  • @maimai1ty89 they tell you it will last roughly 10 years then your vision will slowly keep back down, but many friends have had it done and they are going on 10 years with no signs of change, and even ones father had it done almost 15 years ago and hes still got perfect vision.

  • Were you awake?!?!

  • @xXDeathReadyXx Yes you are awake during the procedure looks very uncomfortable!

  • thats discusting

  • I got this done yesterday. My eyes were extremely irritable and light sensitive for about 4 hours but by evening I could comfortably watch TV and use a computer and be in a well lit room without my shades. In my check up today I was told my left eye is now 20-20 and my right eye is slighly better than 20-20 (didn't know that was possible, will probably get my own optometrist to check that though :D Would reccommend this to anyone, don't let the vid put u off, its a quick and painless procedure!

  • I'm used to touching my eyes in order to use contacts so this doesn't bug me anywhere as much as I thought it would.

I'm thinking about getting this done. But you'll be damn sure that I'll have someone else in the room with me.

I'll be damned if that Final Destination 5 bullshit will happen to me.

  • Was going to watch this video, read a few of the comments, decided not to in case I decide to get Lasik.

  • can u not be knocked out?

  • @MrAbilash11 I don't believe so. there will be a light that you need to be able to focus on during the procedure. Honestly, having had it done, it wouldn't be worth being knocked out for the less than 15 minutes the procedure takes. It is totally painless, and no where near as bad as it looks from this point of view. The clinic I went to offered an anti-anxiety pill... i didn't take it, but if i had seen this video first, i probably would have.

  • i dont think i have 20/20 vision, and i dont want this to happen to me, gf air force dream :(

  • My Lasik was about a month ago but I'm still afraid to start looking this video >.<

  • After watching Final Destination 5... I'm a little scared nah... I'll just stick with contacts and glasses thank you!

  • @BayBehTwix ill get this done first then watch FD5

  • They say its painless but why does it look so fucked up, and you have to sit there looking at all this crap going into your eye what a mind fuck

  • How do you practice for something like this?

  • DONT WATCH FINAL DESTINATION 5 IF YOU ARE GETTING YOUR SUGERY DONE...

  • @NathanWiki i already did and i am scared

  • Oh fuck no.

  • THAT WAS COOL SHIT

  • WHat do you mean what happened to the music? I had this video muted and played Lion King music in another tab :P

  • Was thinking about gettin it done but now fuck that shit haha!

  • I will probably get it done.. will just have to get past the part of cutting my eye :D But really i think this is fascinating...

  • I want to get it, but so scared :(

  • I have High myopia about negative 12 in both eyes can I get LASIK ?

  • cool video

  • 3:40 cooking time!

  • Sooo... you have brown eyes? :)

  • That is soooo messed up

  • NO NO NO.

  • I WANT THIS TOO.HOW MUCH AROUND COST?ANYONE CAN TELL ME ABOUT?

  • @work99team google said 1500-2100 dollars

  • You have a beautious eye d:

  • Oh my god.. and that's just one freaking EYE!!!!!!

  • :( i don't wanna go through this !

  • I dont think your meant to bleed

  • Can you really not feel it and you can't blink no matter how much you fight it this is a serious question ?

  • @TheMe2cool you are not allowed to blink but you do get rewetting drops so you feel no need to blink

  • Does it hurt!?

  • @nashriquez no. eyes don't have pain receptors.

  • Comment removed

  • Lol, if you're thinking of getting this, do NOT, I repeat, do NOT watch Final Destination 5!

There's a scene with laser eye surgery.... ><

  • @fd3 Lmao! It's too late & I'm never going to get my eyes done. I would get it done if you hadn't brought it up. :]

  • Owwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww It hurts watching this

  • I dont brave to watch it.... if there are 2 choices. ghost movie or surgery video~ i prefer ghost movie!!!

  • yikes! the can opener and the blood were a bit much for me!

  • oh my god ! i wanted to make lasik surgery cause im -4 left and right but after i had seen that surgery i decided not to do it and prefer to where glasses and contact lenses than doing that

    it scared me :(

  • Wait so u can't even blink cause that would hurt sooooooooooo bad!!

  • My parents are thinking about getting me lasik eye surgery when I graduate college. I hate my glasses so much and I hate contacts.

  • @jldaniel3600 You can't be put to sleep for a number of reasons. You coud ent REM sleep or your eyes could roll back in your head

  • am planning 2 have a surgery.. is there any1 who can tell me how to do it? plzzz

  • Why u did this ? Whay ppl do do it ? Whats its for ?

  • @kogitto it's generally used by people who don't want to wear glasses.they get this done instead and if you think it's vain then....

    well no it is.

  • Dead Space 2 feelings

  • Im sooo sick of glasses .. i want to get this surgery but it looks painful

  • How much does it cost for this kind of surgery?

  • So glad I had this done. Absolutely amazing!

  • @brandon1268 how much 8 cost for that surgery? am really planning 2 undergo dat process

  • this is a great video very informative and really helped me man up to getting the surgery

  • I really apreciate this video. I just started considering some kind of eye surgery and seeing the whole process really helps me understand what I'm getting into.

  • The video is from 2006. I don't how have things changed much in 5 years, but i went to lasik surgery this spring and it was much faster. I didn't feel anything, I didn't even realize that the doctor has opened that top layer of my eye. During operation I just stared at the red dot maybe 15 seconds per eye. No complications or dry eyes(well, first two weeks was dry, but it's 'cos of the medicine). I saw quite well half an hour later, and next morning was close to perfect.

  • @boozebreeder realy how much it cost am really planning t hve dat surgery..tnx

  • @birnaddd In Finland lasik is about 2500€+few hundred for checkups. But Finland is pretty expensive country, for exemple in Estonia it's 1000 euros cheaper. But I don't trust ex-communist countries that much, that I would risk my eyes...

  • @boozebreeder I feel better reading your comment. Thank you very much. After the video I still want to do Lasik in this week. I'm not afraid...I'm not afraid... not af-f-fraid...

  • i have questions for you. So you have not gotten any complications yet??

  • I can watch videos about

    -natural childbirth

    -open heart surgery

    -blackheads being popped

    -arms getting broken

-bones popping out of the skin

You name it, I can probably watch it...

But there is NO WAY in the world I can watch these laser eye surgery videos without twisting my neck and twitching and getting goosebumps. =P

  • I went through the exact same thing 4 years ago when I was 21. Worth every penny and scary moment. No Pain. Lots of Gain.

  • Do they REALLLY have to press your eyes? I was planning to get a laser eye suregry but im afraid now

  • @sonnytenedo Don't be. You don't feel anything. (Just pressure like touching your contacts when its on your eyes)

In fact I didn't know they are touching my eyes so often until i watch this video. I thought they were just waving the instruments near my eyes. Defintely worth it.

  • @nf0rc3r No pain? It sure looks painful flattening your eyes like that :(

  • @sonnytenedo Nope. 0 Pain. Think of the pressure as someone pressing their thumb against your hand. You are given numbing eye drops before the surgery so u can't feel any pain.

  • why did they not reattach the flap? or is it not necessary?

  • @zebradancing There was no flap in this procedure because this^ was not LASIK, although it was an elective refractive procedure.

  • @OphTechArtist i mean the flap at 5:06, or is that something that will stay in place without reattaching it?

  • @zebradancing It reattaches itself automatically over the three months. That is why you can't rub your eyes the first 2 weeks to prevent dislodging it.

  • @nf0rc3r oh =) thanks

  • @zebradancing Oh, I'm sorry, I was thinking of another video when I clicked back and read the comments. I was totally wrong. Sorry about that.

Something really neat about LASIK: The upper cells of the cornea do heal quickly. However, the lower cells never do, and can forever be seen by an ophthalmologist during an exam.

If done by a skilled surgeon, LASIK can be VERY safe and results are noticed right after surgery.

  • This method is still not the good way, reason is becasue it reshapes nor cornea but not your eyeball ! The eyeball remains still elongated

  • no thankyou

  • FUCK THISS..IM KEEPING MAH CONTACT LENS

  • i currently have -4,5 in my left eye and nearly -4 in my right eye, for sure im never going throught this surgery..

  • LOL 9GAG BROUGHT ME HERE

  • I got Lasik. No pain at all. Easy surgery and after, you get to choose any pair of sunglasses you want that no longer have to clip onto your glasses and no more contact lenses. I am a big fan of Lasik surgery.

  • fuuuuuuuuuuhhhhh I'm not sure about getting one nowww arr scaryy

  • Oh my god I would have had a panic attack, I can't even put eye drops in my eyes without twitching LOL

  • @divdawgd I'm like you...I was never able to wear contacts b/c my eyes were too twitchy, but after several years of contemplating it, I had LASIK about a month ago. After seeing the results, I can't believe I waiting as long as I did to have the procedure. They give you a valium to keep you calm and in the end you can't really see what they're doing and you hardly feel a thing. What you do feel is a slight pressure...no pain.

  • @CambotSOL I think I'd be able to do it if my eyesight got worse.. for now I only need my glasses to read so it's not a problem. Thanks for the insight!

  • What the nice surgery, :) Like

  • ouch .. if it doesnt have anaesthetics

  • I am scared on seeing the 3:22. I am affected with -0.5(left cylindrical) and -0.5 (right spherical).....Any suggestions on how to improve my eye sight ?

  • Che schifo di trattamento! E CHE CAZZO SIAMO CAVIE?????!!!

  • All I can say is: Holy fuck we've come a long way from figuring out how to make a fire.

  • The can opener would have made me cry....

  • what did it look like when he peeled like part of your eye off?

  • @MrGrimm001 It gets really fuzzy. Sorta reminded me of when you're in a car wash and you look out of the car window when it is covered in water. Blurry, can't focus on ANYTHING, etc

  • @bazookaman1944 ok thanks been wanting to know for awile i just kinda look these videos uip for fun thanks for replying.

  • Don't look as bad as it sounds it's like peeling a grape

  • omg!! did it hurt????

  • No top comment MY CHANCE UH.................WAIT YOU WERE AWAKE THE WHOLE TIME ?

  • @Htfy230 no. just no.

  • @Htfy230 It would not be possible to be asleep while doing this, since you have to look straight into the laser.
