lol yeah remember that all too well. i think it had something to do with the dragonballs. i never saw SM past i think the episode where rini appeared and the monster put them all to sleep, but that was like 8 years ago. from what i've seen in clips, they die, then out of nowhere come back. it's weird.

This is the first time I've heard this one o_O. Did some random artist make a cover or did they only use it for a limited number of episodes? The other Cantonese theme I've heard was completely different.

Nope, the lyric is the real one and used for most episode, although the sound is kinda strange? I guess the upload wasn't that smooth. You could have watched a different season. The Star one is the only season who used a completely different song. All the other season used the same song, but some are slightly modify.

O, almost forgot. The original first season did use another song and footage - one made by the Cantonese company (TVB). They finally decided to translate the original Jap song into Cantonese later on (instead of using the ones the TVB made). This song and footage is what the opening should had been if the TVB follows the Jap version completely.
