  • Is there a download link for this song?

  • wow on gtamecube version there was no singen gamecube got trolled

  • They should make this a movie, like they did to Star Ocean: The Second Story.

  • Wasnt this the ending to Gundam, the 8th ms team?

  • Graphics look awsomee!

  • There is one thing that prevents me from liking this song.

And that's the guitar riff during the chorus. It's grating, out of place, and does not mesh well with the singing voice - and in fact overpowers it sometimes.

Sorry, it's annoying. And that saddens me because I love everything else about this song.

  • @GayLPer I actually agree with you. Though I like the song still. Thumbs up for stating your opinion without bashing!

  • @GayLPer

    Lol /opinions.

  • @fonarte

No shit Sherlock. How did you deduce that?

  • im new to the tales series. what game should I start with?

  • @narutofan9423 They're all good. I personally like ToS, and that got me into the series, and its pretty easy to get your hands on.

  • I like this song more than the GC version. BUT the GC song matches better with the clips.

  • did symphonia ever get a north american release for ps2???

  • @dosdeydey No. Learn to use Google.

  • Comment removed

  • @ChiyoMihama yeah i looked it up! thanks anyway you ass!! :D

  • And their hairs are awesome >:O

  • fun fact the reason every version of tos has a different opening song is because the original japanese gamecube song was just a song they bought and put in the game last minuet, they were never happy with it so they tried to fix it in America, then they got a song they were happy with on the ps2 version and released that song state side too

  • @thesacredbeast2000 There's no state version of ToS for PS2

  • @xgoodix yes there is, i own it

  • @thesacredbeast2000 ah, no there really isn't. The PS2 version was never released in the states or uk. You might own the japanese version.

  • @Munerpile the Japanese version with English voice acting and text.... even on the scenes that were never in the gamecube version

  • @thesacredbeast2000 Truly and Honestly doesn't exist unless it's patched or hacked. I just checked all the Tales wikis, the Tales website, and eBay and Amazon. The PS2 version of Tales of Symphonia never had an official release in North America. Sure there's a Japanese version but there is no English text or voice acting what-so-ever.

  • They should remake the games for PS3 / XBOX 360 or whatever modern ! (x

  • What's the name of the song?

  • A little girl with big axe! :D

  • The best opening, I think it's much better than the GCN version... a shame that the game itself feels laggy, unlike the GCN port.

  • what's the name of the song, i know its not starry heavens

  • @winkleralexander1 I might be wrong, but I think it's Motoi Sakuraba - "Soshite Boku Ni Dekiru Koto"

  • @JackBandicootsBunker

    thanks :)

  • @winkleralexander1 You're welcome :3

  • @JackBandicootsBunker That's the name of the song, Soshite Boku Ni Dekiru Koto, but it isn't by Motoi Sakuraba, it's Day After Tomorrow's.

  • @kztar621 You sure? I thought Day After Tomorrow only performed the JAP Opening for the GCN port (Starry Heavens)

  • @JackBandicootsBunker Yes, but the lead singer split from the band, and went solo as "Misona". She sang this song.

  • @KitsuneRyuuka So you're saying it wasn't Motoi Sakuraba, or Day After Tomorrow, the ones who performed this, but Misona, the lad singer of the latter, singing it solo with another crew of artists who composed this tune?

  • I like this song better than the one on the Gamecube JPN version, but the localized versions had a better fitting orchestrated music piece.

  • Where can I get this game for the Gamecube?

  • @Bleachnarutoawesome

Just search Ebay, it's really cheap. You'll probably spend about 20-30 dollars on it. It's worth it. You can buy Tales of Symphonia 2 for about 20 dollars on ebay. It's an alright game, but nowhere near as good as the first one. If it wasn't a ToS sequel it'd be a better game, but it's completely overshadowed by the better Tos1.

  • the gamecube opening was epic because the music fit so perfectly, but here it's kinda boring...

  • I own this game! And I am proud of it!

  • I really like all the versions of this intro, they all have their pros to them:

I really like the ENG GCN for flowing with the intro so perfectly as it was created specifically for that.

The JP GCN version is a very beautiful piece and probably my favorite in terms of sound, however I feel it flows the least when synching it to the intro. The PS2 version I feel the band really stepped up and synches fairly well with the intro, the song itself is very well made.

  • PS2 Opening is at the top of my Opening list with Phantasia and Vesperia. But this, this is MY FAVORITE GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • YESS My one and only Tales game ^o^ (except its for game cube and Wii XD)

  • PS2 > ENG GCN > JAP GCN (IMO)

the PS2 version was a different song (or a different version?) of the GCN opening but they were made by the same artist but the guitar and the drums really added something to this one.

    ...love this series.

  • i like the tails of games but they always piss me off like this they always remake games for plastation systems and they get cooler titles skills and in vesperia an entirely new character

  • @djmh14 I agree, I think the Tales series would be bigger then Final Fantasy if Namco would just release more of their games outside of Japan. As it stands now the reason Tales isn't that popular world wide is because many people have never heard of it due to only a few games being released worldwide.

  • @SolDethgard

indeed...not to mention as to how BEASTLY the combos are in the Tales series that have attracted many gamers into playing it ( ie: Philia from Tales of Destiny spell combo = Priestess who nukes the shit out of people) XD

  • Soshite boku ni dekiru sure is great song.

  • This is not even the real japanese song for the PS2, put freaking um Tales of Symphonia Japanese Intro, it'll show the real song for the PS2

  • @MegaBoshi Uh, yes it is? I own the Japanese version for PS2. They used a different song for the Gamecube version. Called like "starry nights" or something like that.

  • Wow, I'm certainly impressed at how closely the anime writers and artists kept their appearances from the game. Every detail was kept in mind.

  • Oh how I miss this game. ;_;

    /goes to play it again

  • ToS 1 and ToS 2 are the best games in the world !!!!

  • @Elesarios tos1 is much better ;)

  • @Elesarios We musn't forget Abyss and Vesperia ;D

  • @ElfieStar Or Rebirth, Graces f, and Destiny.

  • @Bryantzerox And Phantasia. Ah, screw it. They're all awesome.

  • @Elesarios Lets just say that all tales of games are the best

  • @SISproductions331 O yeah.. the saga Tales of is really great =D

  • @Elesarios Oh my gosh, like ToS2 was a good game, seriously...

Anyway, Legendia and Destiny are way better than Symphonia.

(Excuse me, i know that my english is very poor, but it's because i'm belgian.)

  • There is a reason I put this song in my Maplestory Zakum solo, because this SONG KICKS ASS!

  • I like how the price is rising. Now its $30 used at GameStop. I got it for $5. O_o

  • @SymphoniaFan101 lol I got mine about 4-5 months ago and it was $12

  • This really sounds a lot like Starry Heavens, it's pretty much the same beat, just different music and lyrics.

  • It's amazing how all the technology in Symphonia dissappeared during Phantasia. That's how much a catastrophe can do to a world once filled with technology. O_O

  • We think Japanese is better....Which i agree with. But i bet the Japanese (for some insane reason ) Think English is better. Its like a Ying Yang situation xD

  • @lillystar21 It's always like that. For some reason, people tend to like what others have instead of what they themselves have. Perhaps because it's something different, and different = good/better? We'll never know. xD

  • @Raginleif the grass is always greener on the other side.

  • i dont get it went to gamestop to buy this and the guys said its only for gamecube and otheres no ps2 T_T!! WTH!!

  • @n3icnjx I guess it only came out in japan on ps2...

  • @InsideAVitalSuit WTH!!! their not gna make a ps2 in US or something WTH!!! THATS NOT FAIR!

  • @n3icnjx

Nintendo helped fund the translation for the Gamecube version out of their own pockets, so they'd have to record all the voice-acting all over again for the PS2 version. Gamecube sales were more than enough for Namco to be satisfied, and they know fans would whine about changed voices, so they don't have a good reason.

  • @InsideAVitalSuit I read it was because nintendo owned the rights to the english translation that it was never released on PS2 outside japan. sad really :/ hope a similar thing doesn't happen when Tales of the Abyss is released on the 3DS.

  • I like this version more than the GC's. Although I played it on GC.

  • DAWN OF THE NEW SUCKS... I HATE IT! IN THE SECOND ONE THE VOICE ACTING AND THE WAY THE CHARACTERS ARE DRAWN SUCKS!

  • name of the song plz <3

  • hmm this song and opening don't mesh together well at all. Even the japanese gamecube meshes better than this and well that's not saying much.

  • I am so happy right now (And now video finished) Ugh I hate reality

  • So, I just completed the story for the first time.. Now I'm kinda sad as I'm sure there won't be another game as awesome as this one.

    And I love Genis :)

  • @Tamoto08 The other Tales games are also great. But they are really hard to find. I recommend Tales of Vesperia for the XBox360. Or Tales of the Abyss for the PS2. Check em' out! (:

  • Different song than the GCN version, AND JUST AS FREAKIN' GOOD!

These Japanese people make FAR better music than us American's, sad to say. And of course their gaming development talents are off the charts...shame that the talent isn't as good as the 80's and 90's.

  • @nintygaming Weaboe

  • @nintygaming Sigh.

  • @nintygaming ........Don't give up. I bet that americans will beat us asians at something. Everyone thinks "Oooh Japanese so cool" but really? Just doing that is a bit racist. Japanese had more to start from it's like when you are making a mile run and someone that has the same talents, starts 50 meters ahead. Americans got a few points from bombing my homeland. Japanese just know more about technoledgy. <--- I don't know how to spell that. Japanese think that English is so cool! English same.

  • @AsianCuppyCaker Everybody thinks that everybody else's language is cool.

  • @darksword101 Thanks that is what I meant :D I shoulda shortened it.

  • @AsianCuppyCaker thts tru even tho i am american...>.< but i do like Japanese but not everything... yur just a few steps ahead...

  • @nintygaming I like a lot of jpop, but I wouldn't say it's "better" >_>

  • @nintygaming Not true. This is better. <_<

  • This song fits more than the NGC Version, but I like Starry Heavens better

  • what's the name of the song?

  • man why the hell do they always change the opening on the english version of tales of games, they did the same thing on tales of the abyss , ToS 2 and all of them, though i liked tales of vesperia's english opening.

  • This game is worth to play in japanese?

  • @HeavenKnight From what I have heard, it has new costumes and maybe new sidquests? But I wouldn't get it unless u know Japanese.Otherwise you may not know what to do. But it does allow u to listen to this awesome song in the opening!

  • Comment removed

  • @HeavenKnight Well, i enjoyed the english dubs, so i dont think its really worth it. The voice actors were actually good, and the thing that they spokeenglish didnt seem un-natural at all, i actually enjoed them since they fit in so good.

  • Dawn of the New World would have been a lot better if they chose better voices for Lloyd and Zelos. Their voices sucked so bad. Why couldn't they bring their original voices back?

  • This opening is way better than the GC Japanese one.

  • to the description, it's unnecessary to say japanese opening there isn't an english one. (i wish it had come out on the ps2 in america, oh well.)

  • why... why was it published only in Japan...?

    why??? TT^TT

  • @Taua090291 The same question should be asked about several other Tales of games...

  • ok i am almost positive i started an anime called Tales of Symphonia. but there are also Tales of eternia, tales of Phantasia and i think Tales of legendia. so chronologically which one do i start with?

  • @Inuyashafan167 I don't think it really matters for most of them.

  • @www15dn ok thanks

  • @Inuyashafan167

They're all adaptations of standalone games. Do whatever you want.

  • I like the game.

  • i saw this before i bought the game and i said

"This will be an awesome game, and i'm buying it now!"

  • I liked the gamecube version opening better than this one to me

  • @Omegazero454545 I agree...

  • Does anyone know were I might download this as a .mp3 file?

  • Dawn of the New World isn't even categorized as a true sequel. It's not a Tales flagship title, like Symphonia was. It's a spin-off "side story" and it wasn't even finished when they released it. Because of budget cuts and time, they scrapped nearly half of the game and all of the world map, that's why it just has the point to point map system.

  • The ONLY reason I can't watch this video is cause of presae

    ... *starts sobbing*

    nice video though

  • This song DEFINITELY makes things fast-paced. Even if it's a song about love, supposedly...

  • did you all know that there is a anime of this now

  • ps2 vrs iz so much fucking better than cg -.-

  • Tales of Symphonia English Opening is better

  • Seriously? Fail.

  • Woah! Tales of Symphonia had a opening song!? What happened? Americans took it out for the gamecube version or what? What's wrong with leaving it in?

  • the gamecube version had a different one but japanese only, too i'm glad that it's normal to put those into the games nowadays

  • In the most of the Tales games the songs where replaced for two main reasons I can think of.

One, how many Americans are fluent in Japanese?

    And two, licensing problems.

But in my opinion, the Orchestra opening fits the animation fat better for this game.

  • Yeah the orchestra was great. But I'm just the type to perfer originality. That's all. ^^ Also I agreed with you on why they took it out.

  • @Onlymaybe7 actually every tales of game has an opening song and yep the americans took all of them out, except Kane wo Narashite from tales of vesperia, cause Bonni Pink made a new song in english, known as ring a bell

  • Cause no one in North American will understand it?

  • Believe it or not. But alot of people who understand flat zero Japanese would still perfer it over what they understands in certain sutff.

  • but the tales of games r MEANT to be understood. their plots the main thing about them.

i kno japanese tho. some of my tales of games r in japanese since they never came out in NA. idk y. theyre amazing games.

  • @CheriiChan Yeah I know, Tales games story are the important part. In fact arn't all game's story-line the main part? When I say they perfer it over what they understand is I'm talking about the original languages and stuff. Not the fact that they don't understand the whole story-line.

  • You dont need to understand the lyrics to enjoy a song. Sometimes its better not knowing.

  • The song on the Gamecube version is so much more epic than this!

  • I completely disagree....

  • @BbqHaxProductions ...... no.

  • My favorite RPG of all time. Beat it atleast 5 times.

Dawn of new world on the other hand... disapointing turned it off after 2 hours, couldnt stand the voice acting ===> Sequel Fail.

  • Yea Dawn was a awful game

  • Sequel Fail ?!?! Dawn was more like a side quest. XD

  • what? only 5 times...? bwahahaha 20+ for me xD

  • Exactly what I said. I couldn't stand the voice acting and also turned it off after 2 hours.

  • @kobrakaiden Alot of people just play the second one and judge the first one off of it.

  • @kobrakaiden

Same thing happened with Perfect Dark. Perfect Dark zero was an utter failure compared to the original.

  • @kobrakaiden i agree dude luckily there are way more tales of games that make up for it =D

  • @kobrakaiden Lloyds voice made me want to shoot myself in the head

    D:

    i was so mad!

  • @DanniDisaster6 Now this is why I played the second game first when I first heard of the series.

  • @kobrakaiden i played all the way through hoping it would get better, sadly it did not and i wanted punch emil in the face so many times just cuz he was so wimpy

  • @kobrakaiden i beat you, i've beaten it over 50 times >:) <- win

  • @kobrakaiden beat Dawn of the New World, enjoyed it, started second file, loved the voice acting. But the original is still so much better.

  • @kobrakaiden your loss losers

  • wat is this song

  • Is "Soshite Boku ni Dekiru Koto" by Day After Tomorrow, and che GC version is "Starry Heavens" also by Day After Tomorrow...ENJOY

  • the yellow hair one its a woman?

  • Yes, the one with the blonde hair, white dress and black leggings is a girl.

Though at the very beginning there is an image of a winged blonde facing away from us. That's a man.

  • @xGinxGenx must have been one of the previous saviors no?

  • It's actually Yggdrasil. C: ♥

  • lolz! I have did everything in the game like 10 friking times, but i still luv it! i don't get bored! this anime and game is awsome!

i'll never forget the first time i was pleying it

for the ones who who have played: you have good taste

for the ones who hadn't played it yet: i absolutley recomend it, you'll not wanna stop xD

  • I think this game was awesome, but i don't play it every day... Dawn of the new world on the other hand.

  • oh, yeah n_n everybody play different times, doesn't matter, anyone has their tastes.

And yeah, for Christmas I ask for Down of The New World, but there wasn't another game, thei're over in Panama O.O

But my cousin has it and he'll give it to me some time for me to play it ^O^

  • Well, i got it for x-mas from my brother. I have already played it for about 80 hours already and not getting tired of it and i have only about 70% completion. Think what would you get if you take Tales, give it a bit more light hearted story and a bit of pokemon (yes, pokemon) and you get the gift from the heavens known as Dawn of the new world.

  • oh, yeah n_n in that, I'm as U, I don't get tired og it xD

I will be glad to play once down of the new world xD

  • @bolllzack No, you get Eternal Sonata XD

  • Starry Heavens suits the game better, IMO. I love Symphonia, but it's my second favorite tales ever - I freaking love Tales of Destiny. Symphonia was soooo awesome. At that time, I was playing those EPIC GAMES like Metroid Prime, Zelda Wind Waker, and etc, but sometimes I just wished to lay my hands on a good RPG on my GameCube. And when I saw the next Tales of was on GC, I freaked out. I love this game, and I still play it. GODAMNIT THANK YOU NAMCO

  • This > Starry Heavens.

  • ok firstly, TOS is the best game ever out of the Tales series. doesnt matter which version it is.

however, the ps2 version is clearly not worth it.

i own both the english gc and the ps2 version of the game and there is really no difference to me.

sure they added some specials, a few extra scenes, and a extra costume for each, but playability wise, the gc ver is better. faster loading plays a huge part once u play both. i can honestly tell you that after i beat the ps2 ver i only play the gc TOS

  • PS: b4 anything is said about it, the ps2 version is jap only, which is wat i have, (ebay is great =D )

and my ps2 is... special ^^

  • No its not the best Game out of the Tales Series.

Have you played an other Tales besides,Abyss,Vesperia and Symphonia?

I like all Tales Games, but my opinion Tales of Rebirth and Tales of Destiny Remake are the best. 2D ftw!

Well all of them are great, except Tempest.^^

  • I have to disagree, symphonia is without a doubt my favorite mainly because of the story, and you cant argue with the fact that it does infact have the best storyline, but i much prefer the abyss battle system... have you seen gameplay of tales of graces? if it has a good storyline i have no doubt it will be one of the better tales games because it looks like it has a pretty AWERZOM battle system

  • Yeah Tales of Graces looks awesome.^^

    Looking forward to play it.

  • agreed

  • self proclaimed gods or self proclaimed angels are always evil

    don't you know that

the same goes for self proclaimed chosen

  • I love how Genis and Raine kill monsters in one hit in the intro. If only they were that good at melee in the actual game

  • @Slimey0 awsome:]

  • @Slimey0 Spell cancel Raine is XD

  • ONE OF THE BEST GAME IN TALES

  • I love how there are so many spoilers in this intro... But you never figure it out until you actually get to that point in game :P

  • Haha I know XD

  • Agreed! It seems so different once you know what is actually going on!

  • this is one of the best RPG game ever! :D

  • The hell is the name for this song D;

  • My favourite game... hope they make another for all systems... maybe bringing back kratos...
