  • we found out instead of the reverse nomex on, To simulate smoke conditions, you can use the press and seal stuff for food, it works good

  • home boy in the beginning needs to calm down. take a breath god damn!

  • Good video to teach confidence and make self extrication virtually a mid brain function. You should also include in your training removing your SCBA and pushing it though a small opening in front of you, changing a cylinder in extreme situations, and rapidly knocking out a block wall to extricate a firefighter who might be working in a basement or who might have fallen into a basement. One question though how is this RIT training, this isn't so much for the RIT but more for Self Rescue.

  • great video wish we trained like that.

  • Sugway is right. Get your bottle on the floor! In a hallway, put it on the floor and in the corner. Keep "swimming" through the wires...you've got a much better chance of not getting stuck.

  • whos firefighter here

  • Great Vid!!! Man those wires sucked when I went through it!! Helps if you don't have your SCBA at it's highest point.

  • Seems like a very valuable class to take!

  • This video is awesome man!!!!....

    NIce music also...

  • this looks crazy awesome! .. ive only done a few things that you guys did in here but i would love to try and go through a course like that .. deff good training excersice ! ... i hate the hose thing though haha i did it at the fire college and there was no cuplings in the space i was so i just chose one and went and ended up at the nozzle lol so it sucked lol but yah this stuff is awesome!

  • Sugway, the back swim is a good idea, but you wont be able to feel for possible holes in the floor while on your back.

  • In the entanglement you need to flipover and put that bottle on the ground and backstroke swim... it nearly eliminates hangups.

  • whats the name of the song

  • just went thru the rit classes and it was a confidence booster for the whole crew us small vfd don't have luxury of mutual aid close so we depend on ourselves to save each other and stil try not to outsource ourselves. awesome vid thanks for shareing gave some great ideas for our own setup be safe because we walk where the devil dances we leave on a call together we come back together alive rit rules

  • goin throught this class this weekend at the fire school, and cannot wait to take it, the same instructor we had for Survival is doing this, and he drove the point across to us all in the class, and trust me when I say "you could have heard a pin drop" when he was done, then the skills took us to a place we never trained like before....amazing stuff and cannot get enough of, its that one time when your gonna need it....be safe brothers.

  • i have never seen a black salad bowl style helmet. most of the guys in my explorer dept wear the yellow ones. is their a differance? i mean other than color? i personaly wear a traditional.

  • My voulunteer dept., has Rit teams, we have 33 guy's. Yes Mutal-Aid is by far the best option. But our mutal-aid is pretty far, and as we all know time is important. Our Rit Teams is a 2 man team, a Captian, and a seinor firefighter. Granted not everybody can be there all the time so we have 6 Rit Trained guy's. Lucky we have 3 paid firefighters on our dept. from a nearby large city, who live in our fire district. So we always have a 2 man Rit team there.

  • i wish my dept did courses as good these.

  • dont wish. make them.

    Train like u fight

    flight like u train.

  • wow. that was cool

  • Its mandatory in Ionia County, Michigan that you have RIT training. Only we call it Rapid Intervention Team. We train to rescue downed brother if that horrible instance ever occur. about a 2 week class session

  • U do know RIT means

    Rapid Intervention Team

  • Yes I do. Thats what I said above isnt it?

    Theres RIT (Rapid Intervention Team),

    RIC (Rapid Intervention Crew),

theres a few more ... cant remember though. WHat city you with?

  • gotta love those confidence building courses :)

  • Every Dept should attend these. We have one here in Northern CA Bay Area. I always carry a personal size axe with a pry-tool handle. I WILL breach my way out if I have to. I also carry a pair of side cutters and webbing in my turnouts (Jacket Pockets). Atleast I will have options. More than anything these classes give you the survivor attitude. Thanks for the video!

  • Awsome. It was a great class LOVED it

  • omg..its the georgian college wannabe class doing Survival drills.Good stuff boys glad to see your learning something useful.Cant wait to show this to our Training office. Keep up the good work and get your asses on the Career Truck

  • Ya...whe had some great training in those few days..

I did't get a chance to film the denver or pittsburgh drills, hopefully next time...

  • I just took a RIT class, and its a great video , but with the wires, we had a confined space/entaglement traiing of 3X3 box that was 7 foot long and you had to go threw it , and all the wires were in the X shape the whole way threw, the ones in the video look easy

  • Hey bsus, that is a big misconception. RIT teams aren't pulled from your department they are to be dispatched as mutual aide from a neighboring department. In that case you do not out stretch your resources and you have an additional team on scene with the sole purpose of protection your firefighters.

  • Great video. Looks like a fun and possible life saving video, especially with the wires. Just lost a fellow firefighter because he fell through the floor and got caught in wires. A RIT team would have been great, but a small volunteer department doesn't have that luxury. Great video can really learn a lot about different ways to get through areas. This could definitely possibly save your life or another fellow firefighter.
