@TheGrandJump You wont be able to see the infusoria, since they are just a few cells big. The stuff in there is shredded Lettuce and a few snails (tiny snails).
@chrisaquarium You boil the water that you want to put over the lettuce in a separate pail, with this method you will cause the infusoria to develop. It will break down the lettuce a lot faster.
@iliruzanna94 It depends on the water quality, as long as it does not smell bad, the infusoria is fine. The longest I kept a pail fresh was for 2 weeks.

I'm not sure I'm totally clear...boil what water? The aquarium water? Boil the lettuce and then put it in the water? What am I boiling?
