I like this version but I prefer Dusty Springfield singing it, she has more emotion in it.but then it is Dusty after all.she knew how to emote.she sounds as if she understands it.
I am putting together a school DVD for a special ed class that recreated the Surrender at Appomattox. I heard the "Two Brothers" song while a Disneyland and thought this was a perfect song for the kids. However, on iTunes I cannot find your version of the song to buy. (Which I love!) Is there anyway I could get it? I did not find it on the Letterman iTune's list either.
I remember a TV special done in the late 1960's about the Civil War. It was narrated by John Wayne and used folk music to tell the story of that time. This song was acted out using David and Rick Nelson as the Two Brothers. It was beautifully sung, but I can't recall who did the singing. I know it wasn't Rick Nelson!
Does anyone else remember that special? I would love to see and hear that version again!

The harmony on this piece, along with the banjo and drums are captivating. A beautiful song well portrayed. Thanks

I wish Judy Collins had done a recording of this haunting ballad somewhere along the way.
