If Saab where smart enough they could have let Volvo buy them not GM!! If Volvo had them bouth could have bin swedish now, not owned by chineses or deuthes!!!
Does it really have 274hp? My '95 9K stage 3 with 270hp does ~15 secs from 100 to 200kph and it doesn't take 10 secs from 0 to 100... The 9k is an automatic and a lot heavier.
I have a 1990 saab 900s and im 17 and i love my car but damn the turbo version is so much faster it seems after watchen this and the cars looks like its runnin great even afta 232,000 miles
both the 900 and 9-3 are great.... i have an 09' 9-3 and bought it over a benz c class and bmw 3 series... my only wish is that it had a manual transmission....
230k car ? you mean it costs 230.000kr ? i hope i understood you wrong cuz a car like this in a nice condition can be bought for 2000 dollars, or can you explain what you ment with 230k please ?
A buddy of mines has an abott racing tuned version of both, a T16S (SPG) and a 1994 9000 Aero, the T16 does 165 mph bouncing off the rev limiter in top, and the 9000 does 170+
I've drived my friends 900 Turbo 8valve, 5spd gearbox. The car was "budjet tuned" and it maked about 180hp. That saab goed 200km/h easily and lightly ;)
I don't understand STUPID people like MustaphalsBored... I have a SAAB 9000 and the top speed should be 270km/h (167,67mph.. with the "45-gearbox") and I have been driving it at 250km/h (155,25mph.. that's more than 151, isn't it?). The modifications iv'e done to the car was less than 1000$
Oh but they can my friend, A modified T16 can do 150+mph, bored inlet, ground effect feed FMIC, 16G wheel on a TE05-12B turbo, high octane fuel, and a port matched resonance exhaust system, I have a video somewhere at 3am doing 145+mph
I can't speak for "modified" engines/cars & my comments of course had to do with stock configuration classic 900/9000 series.
A "stock" Merc 560SEL on the other hand, in Euro form, is good for 156 Mph and the "modified" (AMG or Brabus) versions could easily top the 156 Mph mark.
My G reg carlsson 9000 had a top speed according to the manual of 147mph and i had that on the clock on many occasions. It was so quick from 120mph to 150mph it was breath taking. I owned a calibra turbo for a while and although the vauxhall was a brilliant handler it did not ever make me smile so much as the saab, damn i miss that money pit. just the wrong time for me to own one back then when i was broke.

@wickedblackcamaro Agreed, GM bought SAAB then ruined them. Now there gone forever cause there not making enough money for GM any more...go figure.
dustziggy 1 year ago
@dustziggy go figure some sales numbers before and after GM ;)
btw Saab was a nice technology plant for GM. They didn't need them to sell lots of cars :)

You shouldn't need to ask that... A kilometer is a real unit. Miles are like gallons and pounds (not real units)...

900USD, but it was mrdka (stock). All upgrades are homemade...

What, total, do you have invested in the car? (If you don't mind me asking) I'm thinking of doing a Saab like this one sometime.

At 200kph my c900 engine is doing 4800rpms, I can squeeze out 151mph on a down hill road.
ShadowWorks 3 years ago
Surely, you can't be claiming that your classic 900 can hit 151 mph (unless your idea of a "down hill road" translates into darn near "free-fall!")
I have owned many classic Saab 900's & 9000's in well-maintained configurations & know that 151 mph is simply not possible, in a classic 900 or 9000.
(My 560SEL Merc, on the other hand, should be able to do that, given enough straightaway & little in the way of traffic.)

The 9000 Aero had a topspeed of 149mph as stock, so 151mph is definitely not out of the question under good conditions.
