  • Finally a real vampire. Not this junk you have now days

  • i will try to watch this later.

  • Thanks for uploading ... hammer horror always was my favourite when I was younger

  • hahaa hitchhiking vampires XD

  • @Kitsuneprincess2 Maybe his BAT - Mobile broke down .. Imao

  • The hot babe could have stayed at my place anytime!

  • this is way better then twilight... because these are REAL Vampires... not those vimpires that sparkle...

  • GGGrrr!!! I paid 4/6p to watch these films , I wanna my money back l!! GGGrrrr!!! LOL

  • Nossa... 51 anos.

  • Why are they scared to let her stay with them? so rude the british are !

  • @nennu1992 This is set somewhere on the near continent - probably around eastern Germany. Nothing to do with us.

  • Awesome to have Peter Cushing back in this one. Shame there's no Christopher Lee, though.

  • Martita Hunt is superb in this film. She is perfect in her role.

  • another good hammer film is kiss of the vampire

  • she is from france

  • where does she from? which kind of pronunciation? eastern europe? which country?

  • @singularku She sounds French to my ears.

  • I like this movie , best vampire movie ever!!!

  • This is an underrated Hammer film. I remember watching it when I was 13 back in 2000. It compliments the Horror of Dracula. blood and babes. It doesn't get any better. Though I have to mention Countess Dracula as well

  • My psych teacher was so cool! He used to talk about how you could tell smart from stupid. Smart goes in broad day light and packs a tank and an uzi! I love these films all the same.

  • Does anyone feel the the Baron worked for Dracula as a servant then he rewared him by becoming a vampire or is continuing Dracula's legecy as if he were the son of Dracula?

  • this movie is not too bad..one obvious shortcoming..no CHRISTOPHER LEE, who refused to reprise his HORROR OF DRACULA role here fearing typecasting..so HAMMER used an actor by the name of DAVID PEEL..a definate plus though, PETER CUSHING..best scene..girl being odered out of her fresh grave..hand rising through the dirt..

  • IT'S HAMMER TIME!

  • someone always has to be at the road hehehe! great movie though

  • The mandatory 'sudden silence in partying friendly local Inn' was very early in this hammer.

    Btw, is that Bardot?

  • @YouDonteverhavetodie I believe she was Yvonne Monlaur. Not Bardot, but every bit as beautiful.

  • I really don't like too much this film without Dracula Sir Christopher Lee.

  • Strange fact: David Peel who played Baron Meinster who was the cool vampire here retired from films after this.

  • Seeing this for the 5th time...Cushing is greatest actor ever.

  • If you like this film, read Mary Elizabeth Braddon's short story, "Good Lady Ducayne"

  • I have watched it on TV in a childhood, but can watch it with

a PC again I feel very glad. I thank for a good old movie of

this place. Thank you very much. (2011.05.15)

  • 02/05/`11 : I`m watching this because I`s sick to hell of hearing about the death of Osama bin Laden.

  • More Hammer!!

  • Is a man playing that baroness? She has a very lovely, rich, masculine voice.

  • your my hero! love hammer vampire films! thanks for the upload! v....v

  • Dracula's dead, Simon Belmont is dead.... these guys should have no problem then...

  • nicely understated performance by michael ripper as the coach driver (NOT)

  • I know this is a stupid question but wonder where a person could find the soundtrack to this movie? If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it. Gotta love those Hammer movies.

  • Horror novel see video book trailer

  • I love the spooky openings...fog, barren countryside, young hot chick traveling alone...

  • They had style. They had grace. Why can't we find more people like them?

  • This was a good movie for that period. Anyway Hammer Production standard quality did not emprove for special effects or technology since 60s. For example we can see how 70s movies production was at the same level of previous 60s for quality of image or special effects. That's why Hammer did not last a long time.

  • thanks for uploading i'm a hugh fan of hammer horror

  • this is SO much better than the previous movie!I LOVE THIS!!!!!!:-D finally a GOOD vampire movie!:-D

  • ...jest moc....

  • I never liked Christopher Lee as Dracula. He looked like somebody's dad dressed up in a vampire costume. He didn't have any sex appeal at all.

David Peel had lots of sex appeal. Or sex a Peel. lol. He was handsome, sexy, intelligent, witty, etc. He could bite me any day. Or night I mean. lol.

Why didn't Peel get top billing with Peter Cushing? His name was WAY far down in the credits, as if he were some minor character. Strange.

  • That baroness was one ugly old broad. Why did she bother to wear a bow in her hair? What's the point? lol.

  • SALOUM IDI MOU...

    COBOUS PEDI MOU...

    666

  • one of my favourite dracula movies. you can't beat the eerie atmosphere enhanced by the scary music. terrified as a kid watching this, especially when the coffin opens.

  • @PlusSizeAngel, it's showing on British tv right now. You've a very HORRIFIC page. Nice. I know you're in Finland. What's your name?. I'm Andy from Liverpool England

  • The baroness when out to get her son a happy meal.

  • thnxxzzzz...........classic

  • These hammer movies are gems. I love watching this movie every halloween.

  • 'Theres nothin ta be scared of, nothin ta be a-feared of - Mother-a-god its a corpse!' You gotta love Hammer!

  • I just watched this movie...things sure have changed since this movie was made.

  • Maybe they should have put together another movie involving the Count's cult of devoted disciples before bringing back the evil Monarch of vampires himself. What if Baron Meinster wasn't truly conquered by Van Helsing. And what if Hammer would have given Christopher Lee more to say and do as Dracula in these films. Yes I agree. Peter Cushing was the all time best Doctor Van Helsing compared to other actors who played Dracula's greatest foe.

  • Does anyone remember a Dracula movie where he had various vampire brides and the brides eyes were completely black? I remember it came on WDCA channel 20 or Wjla channel seven during horror week in the early 80's ....it was an awesome dracula movie. Not sure if it was a Hammer film though.

  • @muzikman74 I think you're referring to "Blacula" and no it most definitely was not a Hammer film!

  • Comment removed

  • Copse in the road, then Mel Gibson creeps out of the underbrush....

  • Perhaps the best film from Hammer. I love the colour photography, the dialogue, fairytale Transylvania... everything! Cushing is best Van Helsing - they should have done more films with Cushing as Van Helsing - and although Marianne has no brain, her gorgeousness - those 19th century outfits - and her innocence make perfect Gothic heroine.

  • THIS is how you do a vampire movie. Or just any good movie, in general. I was 8 years old when I first saw this movie. It was in Kherson, Ukraine and I saw it with my mom at night. She fell asleep so I ended up watching it alone. Man, I was scared but I couldn't turn off the TV. It was that damn good!

  • Ahhh The horror movies that I grew up on...What memories they make? Great movie!

  • "fraeulein", "Sauerkraut"? since when is transylvania in germany?

  • @speedpainter02

Because one of the major ethnic groups in Romania/Transylvania are the German Saxons.Transylvania has a very broad ethnic mix, including Slavs,Germans,Greeks, gypsies, and many others like the Szeklers and Magyar tribes.

  • Great film. But what I don`t get is that the man bars the door to prevent whomever is in that coach from entering the Inn, and then says that he must open it !

  • Thank you for the upload!!! I love these movies so so much!!!

  • 50years ago and the movie is better than most crap we see these days on tv. wtf happened?

  • @ChainsmokingPothead CGI, PG-13, Moral Guardians, Executive Meddling, and the occasional fast food and/or toymaking company that wanted to cash-in on the "next big hit". I know, sad.

  • I saw this movie when I was 11. That night, I closed all the windows in my room, took down the cross over my bed and held it in my hands while breaking out in a cold sweat! This on a hot August night!

  • @jimboclinton geez im watching it now (im 14) and i started jumping at all the noises or shadows when i walked around!

  • I absolutely love this film but i can not stand that french (i think) lead actress...she is absolutely terrrible. Throughout the whole film i am just wishing someone would kill her.

  • Peter Cushing at his most heroic. I loved the trick of the locks falling of. Pretty spooky.

  • original? about half of the hammer films are remakes lol this was there version of universals draculas daughter ,but im not arguing i love hammer films grew up on these bad boys lol

  • HOLY CRAP !

This movie is like 50 years old !

Movies like these are spectacular, the ones now are defiantly not as original as these !

  • thank you for uploading

how do you capture the film though?

do you have your camcorder hooked up to your tv and record?

  • omg!..what a scary opening....

the titles look like they were written by Satan!..LOL

  • oohh im scared nick lolxxi need a hugxbabsie oohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • ok...lets watch the movie together...i'll bring the popcorn,drinks and ice cream!...LOLOLSSS

  • lols i wana coke and icce cream babykins ,,ooohhhhhhhhh lolxxx

  • u got it...ok lets put out all the lights till the room is black and theres no one but me,you and the monsters...GGGGRRRR BAHAHAHAHA!...LOL

  • My all time favorite Dracula film. David Peel knew how to make an entrance.

  • how can this gal not notice what is going on around her???

  • that bloody Michael Ripper again ---He would'nt have driven Leonard;s car like that in BUTTERFLIES or he;d have been sacked!!!

  • Thank you so much for Uploading the best Dracula movie EvA.. THANKS!!!!

  • This is one of my favorite Hammer films! Thanks for putting this beauty up!

  • I always did prefer these hammer horror films rather than the cheesey american ones. Christopher lee is the best actor in the world to play dracula. well in my opinion of course.

  • Yvonne Monlaur could give Bardot a run for her money in top French tottie stakes, she's gorgeous here.

  • What I love about these films is the warning of "Don't go near the castle" by the coach drivers locals etc. And they still persist in going just before sundown. Why the hell they don't go around 12 noon have a good look around before he gets up and then bugger off

  • @niceone1100 no no you are wrong..you dont understand....

in these place of the world..in winter days are short..sun sets fast, and the other thing is that at 12 o clock the traffic is too much so there wont be carts available...you see? the girls's parents couldnt get a carriage soon because it was on a hire, and they had to wait, and the other thing is jerneys are quite long and takes lot of time, so you never have a sun for the whole jerney

  • @niceone1100 Actually, that's what MOST people do. Horror movies usually show the wrong end of the bell curve, though. Honestly, anyone with a three-digit IQ would kill the Monster, solve the riddle and get the treasure before lunch, then spend the rest of the day trying to get the girl, too ;-)

But ask yourself this - how fun would it be to watch a movie where the cast does exactly the right and clever and smart thing to do? It wuld be over in fice minutes.

  • @niceone1100 lol!!!! EXACTLY!!!!!!!

  • @niceone1100 if they went to the castle at 12 noon there would not be a story

  • Damn the last time she was bounching up and down like that was on me .. lol

  • the evil maid is friggin' awesome that cackle is kooky and kreepy

  • thanks for the upload!!!!

  • I just love this film. All of the Hammer films were wonderful. There is a great cult movie page on facebook that profiles alot of these films and other cult classics. It's called Raquel Reyes' Cult Movie Corner. Check it out if your a fan.

  • Who's the guy who hitches a ride on the wagon at 3:47?

  • He works for Baroness; he is called Latour in the script. This was based on Jimmy Sangster´s script called Disciple of Dracula or something, and in his script Latour had much bigger part. He even destroyed Meinster in the end.

  • Thanks.

  • No problem!

  • All Hammer films are great. My favorite is "Taste the Blood of Dracula".

  • deffo the best hammer dracula film, very scary and tense when it came out

  • Very under-rated movie. One of Hammers best. Great posting.

  • The music at the beginning reminds me of Jaws.

  • Comment removed

  • One of the most overlooked aspects of the Hammer Films is the music. In my opinion, the Hammer Films were superior to most of the Universal films. Peter Cushing's Van Helsing is the standard and most have fallen far short in duplicating the role.

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks for uploading this movie I really enjoyed most of the Hammer films when I was a kid. Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee were some of my favorite horror stars along with Vincent Price. Lee is almost the last of that crowd and still working today.

  • this is my fave of the Hammer Vampire films

  • un des plus beau des dracula de fischer on se lasse pas de le revoir. merci mister fischer.

  • yeah... barely found out about this... hope it's good...

  • Thanks thanks thanks! I was a child when I felt in love with this and cant' find my vhs anymore :)

  • thanks sooooo much for posting the whole movie, i love this movie.

  • De best Dracula film ever made and Yvonne Monlaur is cut.

  • I love this one so much. It's definitely one of the better ones.

  • This is best Dracula film ever made.

  • waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa LOL

  • Thanks for posting these old hammer classics mate. Could show modern horror movie makers it aint about the blood and gore its about the suspense and terror.Thats what makes horror movies live long in the mind..

  • coolcelt - Re. " blood and gore" vs. "suspense and terror" -

I'm not sure Hammer movies really make the point you want them to: by the standards of their time were pushing the envelope on gore and violence, outraging many critics and other guardians of taste, and running into constant trouble with the censors. Hammer isn't exactly the opposite of today's gorefests - to an extent, they helped create them by upping the ante on screen violence.

  • They didn't even drink the wine!

  • gaaaaaaah i have chills down my spine

  • this is a fantastic movie, i thought with the B movie font for an intro the acting and script would be sub par, but this is ... superb.

  • What a cool film, creepy atmosphere, chilling music score,Peter Cushing at his best and those scary vampire chix that used to give me nightmares when I was a kid!

  • she didnt even pay for wine.. what a bitch

  • haha

  • don't know why everyone's thumbing u down mate----- if i get u right you're only havin' a laff hopefully ??

  • peter cushing was FANTASTIC as vanhelsing

  • Whatever anyone thinks about the lack of cgi and cheesiness---I frickin' love this movie and am really glad to see this on the net!

  • i agree.

van helsings are usually made to look stupid.

  • Peter Cushing is the best Van Helsing in my opinion.

  • @jschumacherberlin Easily, like Basil Rathbone was the best Holmes.

  • @skylur44 Basil Rathbone was the best Holmes ever.

  • @DickCArbiter Absolutely right. The only actor who comes to mind re Holmes.

  • @jschumacherberlin Peter Cushing is the best everything. He's like an underrated Sean Connery. He's in everything from that time, and he has a recognizable voice to those who've seen him in one or more roles.

  • @jschumacherberlin Agreed. Peter Cushing IS Van Helsing.

  • i dont get it at all why do the village man ad women want to get the girl out of there home??? and why werer they afraid??? greetings from a fellow christian iraqi!!!

  • They wanted to get her to safety, because they knew that her life would be at risk if she stayed.

  • oh thnx u

  • @LH77ll So it wasn't anything personal they were just trying to get her out of there?

  • It is a common theme in these Hammer Productions, which I love. I always joke it is amazing they get any work done because they are always drinking in the tavern. As the other person said, they are afraid.

  • thank you so much

  • Yvonne Monlaur is the one of the prettiest Hammer women. That accent, pouty lips, mole are very attractive.

This is one of the best Hammer films.

This is one of my personal favorites along with "Horror of Dracula","Twins of Evil","Curse of Frankenstein".

  • I love you is't enough of a thanks. you're the greatest.

  • ditto

  • @wrght9185: I totally agree with your opinion. One of the best vampire/hammer-studio movies ever i think!!

  • This was one of my favorite movies when I was a teenager. I haven't seen it in ages. I really like the vampire Gina. I watched this movie again last night thanks to you & liked it as much as ever. Thank you very much for uploading this!

  • Does anyone else remember when the Sci-Fi Channel used to show these old classics and other like Bela Lugosi's Dracula, Klaus Kinski's Nosferatu, Chris Lee's Horror of Dracula, and others?

This movie is from a time when a lot of movies where really very very good and had some substance to them and didn't always rely on excessive amounts of gore and splatter.

  • This is the best well done my friend

  • Man this brings back those Friday Nights when AMC was at its peak and showed some high quality horror films. They dont do that anymore for some reason.

  • Can't thank you enough LH778!!

  • Thanks, so much for this =D

    You are my hero
