  • The death of a child can be devasting; particularily one you have never met. But through some unknown power managed to communicate with you from beyond. I will always love you no matter what you look like, my son.

  • hell of a song

  • this is soooooo beautiful!!!

  • @Picoguns I love how easily you put how I feel.. You're good.

  • The 'Unreleased' songs (That constantly appear) were made by a mixture of Trent, Tapeworm and a couple other bands I can't remember... Basically, they all got together and started a 'jamming band'. None of their work was said to be 'Published' as such. Though, (As legend has it -- if I can say that) all the songs they actually fully completed, made it onto the internet. Though, all those songs are very underground and unheard.

  • This is beautiful...and painful at the same time...really grabs the emotions one is feeling at the time regardless of what it may be.

  • This is a remix by DAHAK of the song "Zero Sum" from the Year Zero album.

  • :'(

  • reminds me of one of those nights where you keep waking up every 30 minutes, dreaming up weird shit you can hardly remember, over and over. Until you need to get up and go to work at a shitty dead end dreadful job.

  • this is good snow storm music

  • Even if not NIN, just.....Thank you!

  • Thank you is all can say

  • If I'm not mistaken, this DAHAK fellow uploaded this on remix.nin in 2010, while this was uploaded to youtube in 2009. Looks as if DAHAK took it from here. I could of course be wrong.

  • This is:

    The Aftermath (Instumental) by DAHAK

    //remix.nin.com/play/mix?id=21123

  • it reminds me of apc emotive stuff kinda, it sounds nice though

  • This does not sound like NIN. Either thats the reason for not releasing it or it just isn't by reznor. Even though it kinda has similarities to Still, it doesn't have that deep depressing feel that still had. This doesn't sound like any other era at all. NIN doesn't usually make this kind of compositions, this kind of pulses on playing the piano. This kind of noise to create the ambiance. It may sound similar, but my senses tell me it isn't nin.

  • It definitely sounds like Trent's style, and have to agree with @ThePsychoticLamp in that it definitely has the Still era vibe.

I'd be interested in finding out if it's really a NIN creation.

  • So this link is the same song, the poster said he got it from the remix.nin.com website, made by someone named "Dahak." /watch?v=6BIWjyaUFo8

  • Sorrry can't relate to China

  • Its kinda of a lil bit different from nin's style. So this probably is Tapeworm.

  • uh, yeah.... this is not NIN. Its just not the right style. its pretty, but if Reznor had made it, it would be breathtaking...just sayin

  • After searching for so long through so much of NINs catalog, I can't express my gratitude for posting this. Thanks.

  • Wow, this song is so pretty, I love it!!!!

  • I believe the song is called " the aftermath" by nin. I think this was on the quake soundtrack.

  • Comment removed

  • I don't believe this is nin.

  • You should change the title of this. It's misleading. The track is missing the grindy intense feel. Also, if this is indeed a fanmade remix of a prior track I would love to see the link for myself. I'm going to post on a forum nevertheless to see if I can get some answers. In other news, this song is beautiful and haunting, and I'm ripping the audio off of this right now. Whoever made this needs needs the real credit. Also, the Super 8 cinematography is gorgeous.

  • @GenineM Hey Genine, How do you rip the audio off this or other vids? ~Sadie

  • @sadiesyx you would need the mp3/audio file, where you can rip the audio from videos using Video2 Mp3 [dot] net. hope that helped!

  • @GenineM definitely agree on the "beautiful and haunting" part.

  • Why hasnt this guy comeforth after 2 years...?

Answer: Hes fucking dead because he killed himself right after he uploaded this song

  • This is beautiful

  • Actually, this song sounds like a near replica of a remix done called "The Aftermath", which would blow away anyones mind to listen to. It is on the nin official site in the remix area.

  • @Einriech That's funny you say that. Because it is the very same song. It is the instrumental version.

  • Sounds way off to be vinyl sun what track of theirs

  • anyone ever figure out who this is by..?!

  • @kappamikee

    Nine Inch Nails?

  • i wish i knew who this was actually by. i wonder if this artist knows how much this song touched me.

  • It sounds like trent's work for about twenty seconds, then as it starts to change you can tell it isn't. Cool song though, but trent would do even better.

  • Is it NIN ? I don't know... the piano phrase very sounds like it though :7

  • this is beautiful....

  • Someone may have already said this, but it's not NiN. Beautiful song, but it's Tokyo Connection.

Don't believe me? Shazam it; it agrees with me.

  • @MightyGazebo

Shazam doesn't find anything for it when I try.

  • @MightyGazebo shazam also told me this was copperhead road by steve earle.. ? and i cant fnd anything on tokyo connection..

  • @kappamikee I could be mistaken then, I wasn't 100% sure but Shazam agreed so I went with it. Maybe not! =)

  • I'm not sure if it's nin or not, but it makes me wanna swallow a bottle of aspirin lol. Seriously though, it is melancholy and very pretty.

  • @karasuman78

i came out of the store earlier with a carton of orange juice and two bottles of asprin, my friend looked at what i was holding, then looked at me and simply asked... "Quiet night in?" ...

  • @locutus12 That's a good one. I know you laughed at least a little

  • @locutus12 i lol'ed

  • it has NIN quality!!! I love this!!!

  • It sounds like something that he would have made probably extremely lately like around Ghosts. It also has the kind of once and a long time profound notes that is present a few times throughout Ghosts.

  • @KedViper Sounds much more like the Still era to me. Look up "Adrift and at Peace", "Gone, Still", "The Persistence of Loss", and "Leaving Hope". It's much more the style of those songs than it is of Ghosts.

  • @ThePsychoticLamp That was my second choice. When you think about it I think so too.

  • I now listen to this 24/ 7

  • I vote that this is probably not Reznor either because it is lacking a bit of punch that he puts to it. It's a good vid though.

  • Even if this isn't NIN (which I'm guessing it isn't) I still believe this is an excellent example of how Trent's music can touch and influence someone.

  • It's just....beautiful.....props to the creator.

  • this is brilliant.. is it really NIN ?

  • The entire product is hypnotizing. Love it.

  • probably off of the ghost tracks

  • It's a brilliant video work. I wish I could say it to the person who has made it.

It really makes me to think about the destiny and future and death.

I don't care if it is Trent's music originally or not... but the work itself does make impression, really.

  • NOT NIN

  • anyone has the original link to remix.nin.com?

  • this song hurts

  • I know the song ! It's a remix made on remix.nin.com by a fan.

  • @Staphylin which one? :)

  • @reptilcan the song in the video...there's only one..the first !

It's a remix made by a fan. I listened to this song a few years ago on remix.nin.com

  • @Staphylin theres only one ... The first..? I don't quite get it myself, what is the song in the video..?

  • what is this type of cinimatography called?

  • i believe this is real. i can feel the reznor and maynard mojo in that one...

  • I don't care what it is, can you give me the link for download? Or send it as an mp3 via email? Contact me, I have been scouring the interwebz for this and no dice. I feel my soul won't be complete without this. ;)

  • @h4LoGHOSTS I can help you if you've not obtained an MP3 of this yet.

  • Still wondering if this is Mr Trent Reznors. Really doesn't matter, its really beautiful.

  • Background sounds kinda like ghosts I - 2. Sound starting at 1:46 is great. Piano is great as usual. Trent Reznor is amazes me. He can make a song so sick and raw and turnaround and make one pleasant and easygoing - something my grandmother wouldn't mind listening to.

  • Kinda simple but very nice nice song...I like it

  • its nin

  • I think this is probably fan made. A mixture of original piano parts, and Ghosts background sounds to give it atmosphere from the remix packages.

  • this sounds like a piece of piano music trent would play/write

  • I wonder what the name this song would have....

  • -Inspiring-

  • @hehfilms it does sound like BOC maybe even Aphex Twin

  • this is nine inchn nails i would know trents music from anywhere

  • its truly beautifal i acually cried i really like this

  • estos son la polla!!!!

  • This music is made by a fan ! I've listened to this on remix.nin.com

  • @Staphylin can you provide a link to the song? thanks!

  • a must-be on my iPod

  • Can I get a link to wherever you found this? I need it!

  • I don't think this is NIN, however, I think it is fantastic regardless. Whoever you are, awesome work!

  • Would love to ask Mr reznor if this is really his.

  • This is definately a NIN song. I have heard it before. and im the biggest Nine Inch Nails fan. If Im not mistaken it is on the album "all that could have been" or "further down the spiral"

  • @TheBiscuitBaker I can't say without a doubt that Trent Reznor didn't write this, but it's not on either of those albums, or any other official [North American] release or import I've ever heard

  • @TheBiscuitBaker

It's on neither of those albums you fucking retard if you were the biggest fan you should know that

    go kill yourself.

  • @purity666slpknt

The world would be a better place without comments like this. Listen to the music. You'll understand.

  • This is what it would sound like if Reznor holed up with the Boards of Canada brothers for an afternoon. Whoever is responsible, I think it's beautiful.

  • @precenphix Fully agree

  • i think i have never listened to a song whose video represents so much what the audio expresses, if i only listened to the audio of this video i would imagine the same images that are shown, it's perfectly done

  • @delicioustampax While I agree his music changed drastically after that album, comparing him to five finger death punch (retarded name for a band btw) is a little overboard. His music even to this day is still really really good, and the lyrics, while not as angst filled or honest, are still far better than most the crap put out today.

That being said, how do we know this song is trent? Just because it was in a torrent doesn't mean it couldn't have been bad file info.

  • No. Mad World was made by Roland orzabal. This is made by Trent

  • I don't know how somebody don't want to take credit for this - it's simply beautiful...

  • honestly people denounce these possible NIN songs because they're instrumentals. i admit i'm the same... however i do belive this is indeed nine inch nails. after all there where alot of songs that did not make the fragile. Some made there way onto sual willams. IF this is not NIN then well...MR unknown u get nothing. I Will call this NIN unless it is dismissed because i truly belive it is. it has a foghorn synth like in Home. Have you priced those?!! *Cough* 2000 used.* Danny Loner maybe?

  • funny how much you trust a torrent to give you accurate information

  • Not Trent's usual style. It might be Mrs. Reznor though.

  • whenever i hear this i imagine kevin spacey telling me about his life flashing though his eyes

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah, I don't think it's NIN.

  • This is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard in my life! The video goes along perfectly with the music.

    I wish I were a skilled/professional pianist.

  • this song would have been the perfect ending to 'all that could have been - still'

it just fits right in that album, especially as an ending piece.

this is definitely Trent's work. it's as if he even intentionally didn't release it on the album, but left it to be found.

  • Hang on - I just thought it sounds like something that would appear on a Silent Hill soundtrack - I must search through them to see if it's right!

  • As someone said previously it doesn't have the right sound or mood to be NIN but I really like it anyway. I checked out Cara Metade and it sounds like the same tune but done slightly differently and much better in my opinion - I hope someone finds out what this is or who did it!

  • @churchy99 someone posted it to TR's wall on facebook so hopefully he will comfirm wether or not its actually his

  • @jadeellenroberts please keep us posted

  • o guys, this IS NIN, yes, and to all those out there thinking it is NOT NIN go actually do some research, yes it is unreleased, and it happens to be the now "fabled" disc two of the still side of "And all that could have been"

  • Could you please tell me where to find that information, I've checked nin forums but i could came up with was a 3rd fragile dics that has appendage , purest feeling, new flesh and so on ;( so, would you? I even opened up a threat for this but no one replied either on nin. Thanks.

  • I'm just looking for the title name or the story behind it you know, I remember aaron saying there was so much better stuff and unreleased compared to the ones already out there in vinyls, so I wonder.. what is the title and why such a beautiful song even thats video has been made, was left out? sorry for grammer mistakes on prev. post.

  • @Rane909 tell me more about this "fabled" disc two. I bought the two disc collectors edition the first disc having all live shit and the second having another 9 tracks of various new songs with different/studio versions of older tracks plus some new ones so I thought it may be "hidden" but is no where on there. Where the hell did this song come from? Why does it have no title? Irritating! : ) BTW disc 2 is amazing, makes me cry almost everytime...

  • could it be of Ghosts?

  • Trent had a moment of weakness and made some upbeat song.....??? :P

  • Seems like everyone agrees that this isn't NIN. So, uh, "unreleasednin" I think you need to stop misleading people and give the real artist the credit they are due. Yes, its a nice song, and the video is cute, but its highly disappointing when you click on the video and its clearly NOT Nine Inch Nails. Stop trying to be a view whore and do something creative.

  • Plagiarises The Cure's A Forest. Fucking christ they're terrible.

  • the fragile was intented to be alot different so maybe, maybe it's part of a new album

  • sounds like a nin-style band...but the piano's wrong. Reznor's tunes are full of black notes, there are hardly any here. Also, too upbeat, but nice song, nonetheless :D

  • @Sanisaninja very VERY true, well spoken, you must be a fellow musician to know that. or a true fan.

  • Don't know who this is but i fucking like it - if i had to guess it's from the 99 to 02 era - at least it sounds like something off And All That Could Have Been but I may be wrong about all of this. I've been an avid collector of NIN since 96 and have never heard this (still could easily be NIN though) either way it's good!

  • @LeviathanoftheDanube your right, it is an unreleased song from that exact album

  • @Rane909 really? i have the special edition of AATCHB with two discs but haven't heard this on there. where can i find it?

  • The track is called Cara Metade by the, I guess band, Moleca 100 Vergonha.

I found it out by turning my cel phone on, and using verizon's V Cast song identification thing lol. So it isn't NIN sorry.

  • dude, I just looked up "Cara Metade" and it sounds a lot like Hotel California. They're not the same song. So it could still POSSIBLY be NIN...

  • @goosebumpsadair looks like you need to take your v cast back

  • Sorry, unfortunately it's not tapeworm project

  • the guy kinda looks like danny loner

  • So who the fudge is this? I wanna know!

  • Why is it this couldn't be NIN? I don't see why not.

  • Sounds very cool. If it isn't Trent, then it is someone who is OBVIOUSLY heavily influended by him.

Nice work. Wish it went somewhere more, but that just puts it in line with must of the "Ghosts" ep.

  • It's NIN, it's not NIN. Regardless, it's a pretty tune

  • the sound i can "hear" being NIN, the vid, just look at vids by jeordie white in goon moon, it looks like he has some influence in this.

    Sincerely,

    Just Suggestin

  • "Found this on a torrent. "

Well, why don't you tell us which torrent, and the name of the original file?

  • i would like to know as well, it makes me miss the joy of hearing some NIN that's new to my ears!!

  • Yup, tell us the name of the torrent, there is one tapeworm torrent which is dead and it is around 50 mbs of single rar.

  • Not NIN, but very good nonetheless!

  • it could be one of the 4 unreleased with-teeth era tracks i.e. My dead Friend

  • wait How do you know its fake? anyways I think the songs Perfect like.. It dont know its difficult to explain.

  • what you mean to say is its soothing and caring but with the tiny sound effects in there it still makes it a sad song and a lil tough

  • Who is this REALLY by? It's pretty.

  • Shit I clicked the wrong thingie, I wanted to do another thumbs up!

Oh yeah, whose song is this anyways?

  • are you on crack? this sounds nothing like NIN. even Ghosts I-IV is about as far away from this as you can get!

  • I know this isn't NIN, but to say that it sounds nothing like them is stupid. There was an entire EP done in a style very similar to this song.

  • lmfao you must be smoking the crack my friend... or you one of thouse people that beek there mouth off about things they dont actually know at all.

not only is this very NIN style but it very well could be indeed. Infact i have a slew of tracks that sound like this one that are supposedly nin songs and wont released

  • exactly: "supposedly." you have no actual source saying this or any other of your "slew of tracks that sound like this one" are by TR, let alone where they come from (CD, Amazon MP3 store, etc.). do yourself a favour by reading every page on NINwiki, reading the old (but informative) NIN FAQ, and stopping yourself next time you want to look like you know something when you don't.

  • lmfao your missing the point man. your so bent on beeing right on the fact that its not NIN your not seeing what were saying here. No one ever said it was NIN. all we said is that it SOUNDS LIKE.

You know its okay to be wrong once in a while its only human :P

  • And further more as a member of a band myself i know how many demos and tracks get made befor people even get into the real recording studio. Leaks happen ALLLL the time its very commen place. Just because wiki or the faq dosnt say anything about it dosnt mean that it's not. Wiki is run by peers like you and me. Everyone uploades there own data and as long as it fits the bill wiki will put it up as "facts".

  • err, you seem to be the one missing the point, which is that until somebody officially says it's an NIN track, it isn't. that's the issue, not whether unreleased tracks leak. of course they do; that's how we have like 130 demos of Down In It to listen to. people alleged this was NIN material — saying "apparently" doesn't cover your ass — and they're wrong, and your energy seems rather misplaced if you're defending this behaviour. if unsure whether or not it's by someone, don't say it is.

  • It's a shame it's not a real NiN song, but do you have the original? It's very pretty.

  • Awesome. What year is this from?

  • Nothing. It's completely fake.
