Holy fuck this is my first day with this board and must say it's awesome. The feel of the keyboard makes me totally not regret going with a more affordable mm8 or same-priced but more feature packed mox8. It's a pain in the ass at first and not totally intuitive and the manual sucks but editing effects and changing between all the sounds is easy after you dig in for a day. Playing with hammer strike positions and effects on the Rhodes has been heaven. :D
I don't know if it's a good idea to buy it, I have one question :
I love symphonic music, so to make my songs I must have a harpsichord, church's organs and chorus (priest style), it has already great acoustic piano and strings for this, good ! But I can't buy it if i'm not sur it has the things remaining above.
Please someone can tell me if this keyboard has those instuments ? In the doubt I can't buy this I think you understand.
@Helvete38 Has all the sounds you need, but ill admit the pipe organs arent that great. They're usable but they really lack that powerful magestic sound. I love the pianos in it so im more than happy with it though. The harpsichords I think are pretty good, and the clav is ok. Hammonds are bad. There's some decent synth bass/synth pads and leads too. Strings sound classy enough, good string machine sound too. There's 200 some sounds in it its got all the bases covered without being overkill.
I have been watching keyboards and digital pianos for a month now and nothing cached my interest! The expensive clavinova, P155, P95, P85.... but for this I am in love! So beautifully made! Looks amazing and sound even better.
Okay, can someone please explain the logic of Yamaha designing a stage piano that has only one acoustic piano, one Rhodes, & over 150 useless & poor sounding crap patches & stupid pointless features like backing tracks? Then they charge $200 more for it than their least expensive workstation, which at least has multiple piano & Rhodes samples, extensive editing, & quality sounds that fit into genres people actually play! I would never pay more than $600 for this joke.
The Casio PX-3 is the only board this thing is fit to compete with & that’s only $799 almost $1000 less. Sure it has one nice piano, buy a V-Machine, Keyperformer, & a PX130 or KX8, & you'll blow this thing away. Do the research, people.
not a bad idea. I have a casio px 320 and I was looking to upgrade cause I need a better rhodes sound and wurly sound. does the v machine have those kind of sounds?
@ThatsABiggon Sorry but all that stuff on a gig? - nah can't be arsed. I just want a great piano in one unit with no hassle. Keyperformer is OK, but his other instruments are faaar better.
@ThatsABiggon Consider yourself lucky that your ears are not able to differentiate between Really good piano sounds and so-so Casio piano. Your disability will help you saving so much money since you would never outgrow a cheap casio :-) LOL... You would probably walk up to a 250K concert grand and said .. wow all of this just for one piano sounds !!!!!
@datmpham, If you think that this thing is worth $1700 then you're well deserving of your SSI. Any fool can decipher that this is a rip, esp.if you've played it.If you've talent it doesn't matter what brand you play. I can see you're obviously one of those brand sheep...always looking to jump into a fight for your company...Get off of your knees, dislodge Yamaha's piece from your ass, & grow up. & yes I believe whole heartedly that only a damned fool would spend 250K for a pile of wood & metal.
Action on CP-50 is heavy in the lower range. In fact, heaviest I've seen, and I've tried everything. If you have a light touch you'll like the CP-5, which is more money but at least you won't end up with swollen wrists.
btw,
Would it have killed Yamaha to put the USB memory slot on the front, like they did with the other models in this line?
As an alternative look at Roland, which has an excellent, well balanced, light action. shorter key dip and a little spongy but you can play for hours.

Hi there!
Have you made an english video/text review of this piano?
bibbisbibbis 9 months ago
Yamaha makes quality instruments.
You dont have to worry about your screen blinking for the next 5 years at least
It will continue to do what it was meant to do for a good while.
I'm getting the Cp33 after about 2 weeks searching for a weighted controller.
Have to go with a piano if you want good hammer action under $1000 with
lasting quality.
I cant wait.
